- quickness, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Why only 48hrs?
The plan is to give everyone 48hrs to kick the tires and break things. After 48hrs we’ll take all of your bug reports and feedback, fix the problems, and then turn 2.0 live to the world within the next week or so. - Nobiting, on 11/22/2008, -0/+2Hello, World!
- k3vin187, on 12/29/2008, -0/+1this was the first story on the first diggnation ever... watch it right now
- scarz99, on 02/12/2009, -0/+1Why hello there.
- snowthrower, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I agree with Paiway, either you have an option between both layouts or I will stop visiting digg. I love digg for its pure simplicity, I dont need a really gawdy looking GUI.
- CoSMoSYS, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2friggen sweet
- Protoss, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Man the new layout is pretty slick...I really like the fading when you digg something :P But I'm a sucker for 'cool' stuff. And yea it would be a good idea to make a less gfx intensive design, and let users choose which one they want.
- IraqManiac, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I think some people have forgotten that this current site is still up and the 2.0 site is BETA, yeah as in not-finished-yet
- jmccorm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Clicking on "problem? itself just reloads the current page. Any way to make "problem?" not clickable, or if it is clicked on, does absolutely nothing?
I really really really am leaving now. - deafmute, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I like the look of the old digg better, but I still have to check it out some more. I'm sure you wont let us down though.
- beezn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1the old site just looks cleaner, I'd stick with it
- IraqManiac, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1that's weird - the first story on the new frontpage has -12 diggs
- jasonwert, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1"Considering over 90% of Internet users use IE, what do you expect?"
Sadly, I expected more from my fellow Diggers. - kevdaug, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I really like the layout!! I don't see the ads that everybody was complaining about. Have you relocated them already?
- scotty6969, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1not bad, i don't see any google ads anywhere
- mindlessxd, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Ahh... too many colors!!! My eyes... they burn!!!
- IraqManiac, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1and now it's gone
- nulall, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I don't understand the purpose of the "(via http://www.blahblah.com)" part at the top of the posts on the main page. This seems unnecessary as they all just point back at the link that has been dugg. The screen estate could be better maximized by moving the stuff below the post ("Digg this", # of comments, etc) up to that area.
- keng, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1nice.
but can you "undigg"? - porplem, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Eh, I like the simplicity of the current design.
- natsmith9, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Personally, I like the plain text myself, but I think the new one does look pretty good. Anyway you can have the option between the 1.0 and 2.0?
- Redlobo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Nice design, but the green is too distracting for me at least. I think you need a better color combination but otherwise the beta site looks great. I like the new features. Simple and still easy to navigate. Mostly text so it loads pretty fast.
- pb30, on 02/15/2008, -1/+1Everything is too big, you have to scroll to see the whole right bar. Smaller, fonts, pictures would be nice. I like the simplicity of the current site, beta seems to flashy
- dylan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Love the new design and features, great work!
- liger, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1good design
- rookieone, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Man the new design does look hot...man and the profile stuff is even better dam digg...keep on diggin!!!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Way too many colours used, especially the yellow (wish it was the blue), no uniformity in font size especially the digg counter. Looks gaudy..
Please provide users with an option of sticking to the current layout..
I dont like the Digg 2.0 layout..
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1looks great!
- acr2001, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1on the left side of the page where it shows the number of diggs for the story, i notice its yellow. a GREAT idea would be to vary the color depending on the number of diggs... maybe going from green to yellow to red or maybe something more subtle...
- robsta, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1So far I'm liking it, keep up the good work!!!
- jeff94, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Maybe assign a shape for #s of diggs like circle is 25 or less, square 50-100, hexagon 100+ or something, and have it shift color for how many diggs per hour to see if a digg is 'hot' or something. Also, keep it simple but full of features, not confusing/overwhelming.
- Coronaboy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Looks good, some great features too.
- salweem, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1It looks good but little to much color to me.
- fadedecho, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1If it hasn't already ben said. The dropdown menus "submit a problem" etc need to be coded better. They dissappear before you can highlight each option (varies for each one too!). Also, when they actually do remain there, they overlap with other links and rather than run over them, they go behind the other links and it's looks really tacky. Just my initial thoughts. On the plus side - I love the user icons. that rocks my socks.
btw I'm using IE6 on Win XP Home SP2. - SpookyET, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1The font of the titles is a little big. However, the font of the text is good for 1600x1200. Anything smaller would suck. Anyway, it is best to let make the site scare for any font size. Right now, it does not.
- SpookyET, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1The code is crap, and it does not validate.
- Potato, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1omg, I'm an idiot who can't read.
- SpookyET, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Test it with all browsers because it look different. For example, the "problems?" dropdown looks different in OPERA. It has a green 1px border between entries. If I try to report a story, I get a message saying that the story already has bee reported. It may or may not have been reported. But, I don't know if it was reported as a dupe, spam, etc. The report feature should always work, or it should be dispabled after it has been reported as something.
48hrs is not enough, and you should have used bugzilla or something like it for bug reports.
It would be nice if digg had a forum-like comments section, where people can reply to other posts easily. It would be nice if it was nested or threaded. - NotIan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1This is more of a request than a bug, how about having the links open in a new window (target _blank, not a named window) so digg can be left in the background, and if we hop from site to site after digg, we don't have to come back to the homepage. Even just have that as an option in user prefs, Google does it.
- MEvsYOU, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1HOLY DAMN! The new design looks awesome dude! In Firefox the site is flawless.. however, in IE needs a lil better coding. It's time to change this crappy basic digg already with the new one! Keep up the good work.
- acr2001, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1on second thought... hows about making the yellow sticky a darker shade of yellow for more diggs?
- patrickweber, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Yeah, please let there be an option to use the old theme.. no offense to the crew or anything but I really dont like the new site design.. it is too.. childlike? It just doesnt feel right. I love the current theme and if we can use that one along with the new one that would be awesoem.
- Gatman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Maybe the firefox theme is trying to tell all you IE users something. You listening? ;)
- Potato, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I still can't get in... I am logged in via www.digg.com, and then I go to beta.digg.com and use my info and it doesn't work.
- Venkman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I love it. Good job.
- mojo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1SWEET!! Looks fantastic. Mojo likes.
- nickster, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1The move from the current to 2.0 is a big step, before with opera everything was misaligned and some things were missing. I like the color scheme maybe shrink the number of diggs boxes down, they are a little distracting.
- MrCodeDude, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1It's too easy to report a problem. I've accidental clicked the link a couple times.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Wow! This looks awesome!
- MyOCD, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1The font of the story titles is to large, makes everything look kind of childlike. Other then that it looks ok, a little fake but ok.
