- ORBIT, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11This is possible. Bascially all atoms, even heavy atoms like gold and titanium are mostly empty space. From what I gathered from the article, if you point a strong enough source of light/enegery/radio signals along a hideously wide spectrum at something, some of it will make it's way back through. (We see objects, because we see the light they refelect). So overliad on the reflection of a concrete surface, would be the reflections of every layer in the wall.
Mind you he is a ***** idiot for doing this. And basically he probably is killing himself. The spectrums he's breaching include ultra high powered x-rays, UV and god knows what else. Basically by puting his hand in front of it, he exposed his hand to one hell of a sunburn along a spectrum the sun doesn't even produce. So on top of the sunburn, he probably caused severe breakdown of the DNA strcutures in the cells in his hand. He's now a high case for cancer in that hand, or hell in his heart or where ever his blood travels.
Most modern consumer cars (all consumer cars) can be stopped dead (modern = car with cpu to control timing of the motor) via an emp burst. This focused beam basically heats up the electrical componnet, causes it to expand, and short out, becoming a worthless piece of silicon. Even properly shield devices like military grade avianocs or the space shuttle's 486's would probably have a problem with this thing. (If aimed properly, emmm laser emp).
Silly git, and for those of you wondering why the US isn't intrested in his research, is because they can already do this with little effort, and it's curious how the current government would react to him selling his effort and findings to a foriegn government. (Does high end weapons R&D count as treason?) - kevinrose, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1nice post ORBIT
- lemurfemur, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Is this the same guy that invented that indestructible bear suit? In some of the photos of the Angel Light, it looks like that thing is sitting behind it.
Interesting stuff though.. - f89276704, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yes, this is the same guy who has the bear suit documentary. Pretty interesting but the guy is kind of a kook. If you have even seen the doc you would know what I mean. I would question if the whole story is even true.
- Chaos12, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Ya, this is crazy, i like ORBITs article though. :)
- br34ks00n, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Well that is what I'm saying... is this story even true? Its not coming from a reliable source right now.
- Vegeta, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Sounds like total BS to me.
- Halden, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I am so proud to be from the same town as Troy. I thought Project Grizzly was embarassing enough.
- jmccorm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0FUNNIEST.... DIG.... EVAR!!!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The F-Ray from Futurama?
- phore, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wow, very amazing. I hope to hear more from this.
- celeb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0need to get my hands on one of these gadgets:)
- jasonsbytes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I doubt the U.S. gvmt would pay him to keep quit. They might brake his knees though... Also, there are several documented devices already in use by the U.S. Gvmnt that do the same things as this thing -- much smaller also. Just read PopSci... Or watch one of the Discovery Channel Documentaries on the Military Weaponry.
- zahngol, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Shockingly enough, there are no photos of the device in action... I'll believe it when I can see it.
- granthobbs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"It would seem logical that if there was any truth to this the Americans would pay the guy off some ridiculous sum of money to have the technology and have him never speak of it again."
So it would seem, but there are a number of explanations for lack of American involvement, including a possibility that the government already has such technology. - virga, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i call *****. that article was crap.
- darkprinc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I've heard of a similar device, that was invented years before by Nikola Tesla. If i'm not mistaken it was called the death-ray. It was said that it could stop or melt the engine of an airplane.
- lexaken, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The us would deff pay him to keep quiet, even if we already have this tech. the same thing happened with the original laser
- wiredclimber, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Hmmm, im raising the BS flag on this one
- norcaldude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
- BangoSkank, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0If you believe this story, I feel really sorry for you.
- f89276704, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It would seem logical that if there was any truth to this the Americans would pay the guy off some ridiculous sum of money to have the technology and have him never speak of it again. This would be considered highly valuable for military and law enforcement uses. There has to be something not quite on the up and up on this one.
