- gaindev, on 11/10/2007, -1/+15will just be another few days until the site is back. It's worth the wait, though!!!
- plusmedic, on 11/11/2007, -12/+1No it won't. Good riddance, Demonoid was horrible and just as unreliable as public trackers. With no control over uploaders, or a strict ruleset and squad of vigilant moderators, you can never guarantee quality of content. As a result, Demonoid was full of 'what the ***** is this' torrents created by people who don't have any idea about what they're doing. Just go back to mininova and the pirate bay, you'll get the same ***** there
- boxybrzown, on 11/10/2007, -1/+4This is wrong on so many levels that it boggles the mind.
- ElectroBot, on 11/09/2007, -1/+1Maybe.
But, if you knew/know hot to look/identify quality videos/movies/tv shows then you could find a lot of stuff. Besides demonoid has one of the best Mac torrent sections anywhere.

I'm really hating my country right now....
Bad sign for other sites as well :(- PJBovoNox, on 11/09/2007, -6/+24Just hate America. It's easier, and 90+% of the world's population does.

- IslandDog, on 11/10/2007, -8/+3Like we care about people who steal....
- yingjai, on 11/11/2007, -9/+7Hating your own country just because a Canadian association is making it harder for you to steal from other people? I can't believe people are actually Digging you up. I'm not trying to defend CRIA btw.
- Dayyve, on 11/11/2007, -2/+5Well when people get $10,000 fines for sharing music, don't you think the government should step in and stop the RIAA/CRIA from ruining some people's lives who don't have that kind of money lying around?....all in the name to help multi-millionaires. Stealing isn't right but neither is throwing somebody in front of the bus over sharing music. A crime, but not a HUGE crime in my book and certainly not the morally-depraved act they make it sound like. BTW---- I purchase all of my music to support the artists and the artists alone. Let's hope Radiohead started a new paradigm.
- Speed, on 11/09/2007, -0/+4Well, Canadians aren't getting any fines, since downloading the music is legal. And the RIAA and CRIA are both government supported monopolies. Having the corporations group together defeats the purpose of competition.
- arctic, on 11/11/2007, -2/+1Don't do the crime if you can't pay the fine...
- cliffski, on 11/11/2007, -0/+1i don't have the money to pay speeding fines, so i don't speed. its not ***** rocket science kid...
- cheesehead, on 11/09/2007, -0/+10Actually the CRIA is not Canadian. It's an association of American record industry types set up to lobby the Canadian Gov't.
Here's a link to a guy who has a good handle on the situation.
http://www.michaelgeist.ca/content/view/2094/125/
Don't be taken in by CRIA *****. Downloading is not illegal in Canada.
We pay a copyright levy on tapes and dvds

- grantmoore3d, on 11/11/2007, -1/+4Odd how this is proceeding, given that file sharing in Canada is not a crime...
- Nayamina, on 11/09/2007, -0/+2What really confuses me is the mass public uproar over Comcast's handling of bittorrent traffic when Rogers, one of the biggest telecom providers in Canada, has been getting away with it for well over a year now. Don't believe it? Check out the Azereus Wiki http://www.azureuswiki.com/index.php/Bad_ISPs#Cana ... . What really confuses me is back in 2003 our Government made it very clear that P2P file sharing is perfectly legal. Makes me wonder why more Canadian's aren't pissed!
- PJBovoNox, on 11/09/2007, -6/+24Just hate America. It's easier, and 90+% of the world's population does.
- bethehammer, on 11/10/2007, -17/+6Damn this is truly the end for Demonoid
I really loved this site, had all the new shows, quick uploads, and a great feel about it-a good community.
Well, RIP demonoid =(
p.s. I will miss you, until I find another site that is as good =D the internet is always more powerful than the government!!!- CthulhuDawn, on 11/09/2007, -0/+12It looks like it's not gone for good, man. Keep the faith.
- fragile00, on 11/12/2007, -1/+39I'm keeping my fingers crossed for my dear, Demonoid.

- ElectroBot, on 11/11/2007, -0/+3Everybody loves the pipe dream, but you have to wake up sooner or later. By these actions they're inconveniencing the masses, who download movies from the internet and who'll stop d/l'ing / get even more confused when torrents become more hidden (super secret invite only) like the dump sites of the movie/warez scene.
- Flashman, on 11/09/2007, -2/+8Chin up. It won't be forever.
- Rowen7, on 11/09/2007, -11/+5Goodnight Sweet Prince.

- Ebeniz, on 11/10/2007, -1/+9the demonoid servers are in montreal canada...
- Apocrypha, on 11/10/2007, -1/+5Which is how they shut down a Russian server in Canada. ;-) I think maybe the CRIA realized that blocking traffic doesn't work. Just goes to show that they are truly idiots.

- seastobble, on 11/12/2007, -2/+17What the hell am I gonna do? No OiNK, and now, more importantly (for me, at least), no Demonoid?
- bingobongony, on 11/11/2007, -13/+5Maybe get a life?
- DarkDx, on 11/11/2007, -6/+2You're the one that doesn't download movies from demonoid for watching with your girlfriend.
- Pixelante, on 11/09/2007, -1/+2My girlfriend watches mainly lesbian porn flicks. She says it reminds her of her boarding school days.

- JammoBlammo, on 11/09/2007, -5/+3You must be a pirate noob. Do you know how many methods, sites, and crews have come in gone in the scene? It will never end, it just evolves.
- seastobble, on 11/09/2007, -0/+3My statement was more of a, "lions and tigers and bears, oh my!" statement. I'm not ridiculous stupid about things. However, I wouldn't call this "evolving". In that sense, nothing is wrong with global warming, it's just "evolving".
- WhereAmI, on 11/09/2007, -0/+1Demonoid might not be the best but it was full of good torrents. No passworded *****. Nicely categorized. It was easy to get an invite so there were leechers, but there were alot more seeders. I could count on Demonoid to have what I wanted and if not I made sure to upload whatever I found to Demonoid, thus increasing its quality.
- CondoleezzaRice, on 11/10/2007, -1/+0Masturbate.

- ZeRux, on 11/10/2007, -2/+23Are you crazy? That will lead to ban of e-mail!
/sarcasm- sexybobo, on 11/09/2007, -1/+8Also i dont know about you but my email provider doesn't allow 82GB attachments and i dont want to have to download 8000 10MB rar files.

- WhereAmI, on 11/09/2007, -0/+3Probably one of the best things about Demonoid is it wasn't full of porn. Or fake torrents pretending to be something then just being some kind of porn.
- blurrie, on 11/11/2007, -7/+38seriously. canada is tarnishing their "we're cooler than the usa" propaganda.
their "dollar" goes up and they get all big headed. blech- batguano, on 11/10/2007, -2/+3just look at the ***** we have in charge up here... we lost our coolness well before this happened

- schoate09, on 11/09/2007, -4/+2Canadian Recording Industry Association.
- WhereAmI, on 11/09/2007, -0/+9Although your both right the CRIA is actually the RIAA with a Canadian name and based there. This way they can do ***** like this. Its still the RIAA, I'm saying, therefore stimpacks joke was delightfully witty.
- dennison, on 11/09/2007, -7/+4It was bound to happen one way or another. Oh well, it was a great ride while it lasted. Demonoid was to me more than just a the best torrent tracker. It was a community. You will be sorely missed.
- 44Bigs, on 11/09/2007, -0/+11Come on people, it doesn't say *anywhere* on the site that they're gone for good. Demonoid was threatened by the CRIA before. They'll be back on-line before you know it.

- xtraa, on 11/10/2007, -0/+29come to Sealand, where the grass is green for every daemon
- Pigutopia, on 11/09/2007, -5/+0again guess it is back to pirate bay...
- Nacelle, on 11/09/2007, -2/+5The best thing about Demonoid was that you could almost always, save for a few, count on the files being good.
- phoenixp3k, on 11/09/2007, -1/+1I already wasn't able to visit their site because I'm up North. What do the CRIA want?
- Fhwqhgads, on 11/11/2007, -4/+13***** THE CRIA

- maxyRO, on 11/09/2007, -0/+1There are hundred others but this should be also online. If this goes down, what do you think is next?
- FinalSword22, on 11/09/2007, -0/+8There may be a hundred trackers, but not a hundred good trackers. Demonoid was one of the few...

- Apocrypha, on 11/10/2007, -7/+5Don;t hate the country, hate the CRIA. It seems to me the best way to make them ***** off would be to just remove the music section from demonoid. That is the only thing that could possibly be of any concern to the CRIA *****. Now that they've successfully threatened one site you can believe they won't stop there. I honestly don't think they have a legal leg to stand on and that they are just relying on the people being threatened to capitulate. Really, though, demonoid should just move it's servers to a Norwegian country (or to where ever it is the pirate bay keeps moving to). :)
- mongoloidplease, on 11/13/2007, -29/+0Sick of all you fags complaining about your illegal warez sites being taken down. Ever stop and think that maybe it's not just just corporate fat cats like Tommy Mottola that are making a living out of the tv/movie/music industry? Ever see the credits at the end of a movie? Add them to the caterers, the cinema employees, rental store employees, and a thousand other occupations that pay very little but millions of people still rely on for a living. Sure there are greedy ***** at the top making a lot of money and hosing everyone lower on the food chain, but its those fatcats who create the oppurtunity for all those below them to even have jobs. So don't try to justify your theft by thinking what you are stealing isn't tangible and isn't a product of an industry that puts food in the mouths of millions of people.
- JonnyTrombone, on 11/10/2007, -2/+9I like how you managed to work in some homophobia there. Actually, looking at your other comments- I'm confronted by what a douchebag you are.
- mongoloidplease, on 11/13/2007, -17/+0Maybe you are confronted by how much of a fag I am you homophobic gay *****.
- toxicshok, on 11/10/2007, -0/+2was that pro or anti gay? I can't tell.

- mrsteveman1, on 11/09/2007, -0/+4mmm, so you tell me how neglecting to download something makes those people any money? didn't think so.
- batguano, on 11/09/2007, -0/+1Well, we in Canada already had our Thankgiving, so in the interest of cross-border sharing,...
I am thankful this upcoming Thanksgiving for Digg's ability to block self-righteous ***** such as mongoloidplease.- batguano, on 11/09/2007, -0/+2Damn, I can't find the block user option anymore!

- Brian.Honaker, on 11/09/2007, -2/+5The CRIA?? They're not even a real country, let alone a real threat. They didn't crumble to the RIAA. Why the CRIA. I think there is something else going on behind the scenes. A threat from the CRIA is laughable at best.
- mongoloidplease, on 11/09/2007, -0/+6They didn't crumble. Their server company crumbled. RTFA.
- Brian.Honaker, on 11/10/2007, -0/+6That is an excellent distinction. I am humbly corrected. Surely they will get some server space overseas. Demonoid rocks hard!!
- sexybobo, on 11/09/2007, -0/+1Possibly in the pirate bay's Server room. If they do go to the pirate bay i hope they still do invite only to keep down on the number of leachers and keep down on the spam. I do like the pirate bay and use it often but the thing i liked about Demonoid is how you would have 1 or 2 year old torrents that were still properly seeded and quick to download.

How about learning some Geography before showing your ass next time?- offspring06, on 11/10/2007, -1/+6A Norwegian country? Norway is a country. I think you mean a Scandinavian country.
- Niallgriff, on 11/09/2007, -1/+2How ironic he declared that demonoid should "learn geography."
- Crumbeast, on 11/13/2007, -1/+2Offspring and Niallgriff need to learn how to read. Pumpkin was quoting Apocrypha, and then telling him that he needed to learn geography.

- iwinyoulose, on 11/10/2007, -0/+6seriously that was funny when it came out 8 years ago...that is why you are being dugg down.
- Syraxis, on 11/09/2007, -1/+4CRIA's email address (for comments, etc) is info@cria.ca, I think I'll drop them a nasty email. Not like they'll listen to a damn word I'll say, but It'll make me feel better.
- zongamin, on 11/10/2007, -4/+1Timewaster. They won't read it you tard.
- bitemegates, on 11/10/2007, -2/+10I was going to comment until I saw the average IQ was below the idiot level. p2p file distribution clearly is here to stay. we elect people who make the laws. it is time to get rid of the current IDIOTS making our laws, and send in New people who listen to the populous. when something is broken -- you fix or discard it.
never wrestle with a pig. you get dirty and the pig enjoys it.- cliffski, on 11/11/2007, -0/+1and who makes the music and movies once none of them get paid?
- Trax91, on 11/09/2007, -3/+1Is this why Demonoid's tracker was down a few days ago?
- Walkboss, on 11/09/2007, -0/+2I didn't experience any problems. It's doubtful anyway, as the trackers are up even now.
- DomZy, on 11/09/2007, -1/+1Just give the domain/database to TPB and be done with it
