- onishenko, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2/ hahah, Sony...????
- Tsuroerusu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Good one on Dell's part, now when can we expect computers preloaded with SuSE Linux?
- vipsta, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1To whomever said they would be happy when IE wasn't bundled with Windows:
You're stupid. You need internet explorer to download firefox. Also, Explorer is largely built into Windows and Internet Explorer. Removing it would require quite a bit of useless work from Microsoft. They wouldn't do it.
I'm for having IE bundled with Windows. Why? Because how are you planning on browsing the internet without a browser? I'm also against having Firefox bundled with Windows. Why? Because the whole fight is over IE having a monoply over browsers. So, its kind of hypocritical when you want firefox bundled with the most widely used operating system. - Elxx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Dell's computers are still terrible quality, but this is a nice step forward for Firefox.
- pcgeek101, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1YAY, AMD processors AND Firefox .... GOOOOOOO Dell
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Good! that'S a good move!
- Gringo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I am not a big fan of Dell but I am of Firefox so I will digg.
IE...you're going down!! - mfratt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0+1 for Dell. Now time for better quality. Until then, I'm sticking with Sony and IBM.
- trix911, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0FINALY...Dell is getting better as time goes on....
- macgabriel87, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0good job. now itunes.
- adml_shake, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Until then, I'm sticking with Sony"
I hope your kidding... - p014k, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Finally! Dell has stepped up and done something smart.
- gfreak49, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0p014k, pcgeek101, DewayneSmith - what they said
- DewayneSmith, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Sony and IBM? Haha, IBM maybe, Sony has a nice look but it probably comes with rootkits installed. I'll stick with Dell and IBM laptops.
- Bloc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Europe needs to realize they're not the only continent..."
what the hell are you on about?! - sirplus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0a big step for common sense! firefox is blatantly superior to other browsers.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0my mate got a dell inpriron 6000 and it had firefox with it
- piesforyou, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'll be happy when IE isn't bundled with windows...
- DewayneSmith, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"I thought the EU's National Antitrust Exports Advisory Committee said bundling was BAD???
The EU Fcked M$ - I guess it's Dell's turn..."
That bloc, that. - firefoxguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0bout time they do something right, now make the hardware not as crappy
- hehe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This at least is a turn in the right direction. I use Opera, but Firefox is a heck of a lot better than IE and it all helps to crush the near-monopoly Microsoft once had on web browsers...since a good number of consumers are too uneducated to realize they have choices.
- kungfustickman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Hold on a sec. One of the big reasons why Microsoft loves to bundle IE with Windows is because the default home page is MSN. If Dell were to bundle Firefox with their computers they would be taking a big step towards supporting Google.
- KorbenDallas, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I thought the EU's National Antitrust Exports Advisory Committee said bundling was BAD???
The EU Fcked M$ - I guess it's Dell's turn... - balazs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0how is this confirmed, it just links back to the original link to the inquirer which still says that dell haven't commented, neither have mozilla!
no digg

my blog: http://theminiblog.co.uk/ - xerowhite, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0this is old news
- balazs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0oh right sorry, my bad
- yankee_7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Let's hope Dell doesn't install ver 1.5
- andyc4, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Old news. A family member bought a Dell 2 weeks ago with Firefox installed...
- iboss429, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0take that IE
- rhyno2000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0ALLCAPS and two exclamation points!!
CALM DOWN, kids!!!!!
Nothing is that exciting; please stop masturbating over Firefox. It's a fine browser, leave it at that.
An aside: Can we have an age requirement here? - kali25, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Who cares, it takes 5 seconds to download. Of curse it is the chicken and the eag situation. Need IE to download firefox, most will just kee using IE since they do not know the difference.
- unclescrewtape, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I just called Dell on this, and they described it as "rumor and speculation," and declined to comment further. So, maybe not necessarily "confirmed."
- bill.clark, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0OH MY GOD! NO WAY! Really...who cares? Like it's so hard to go download 1.5 and have it crash every 1.5 minutes. Don't get me wrong, I use firefox, but this new version is piss-poor. It handles like IE...
- rEvolution27, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I realized that about 1.5... I get random errors all the time, and all I have to do is refresh..
So now they're giving us two browsers? foo
If Microsoft doesn't pull up their socks, dell should ditch them or make two lines of PCs
One with windows for those who can't use a computer and don't mind paying more for a crap OS
And one with the ultimate Linux bundle (for 1337 h@XX0rz)
I'm surprised Microsoft didn't object to this.... - sparkmonkeyz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0You guys are all haters, i dont have any problems with firefox except for the first 10 min. when i have to get the plug-ins. 1.5 never crashed on me and arent you all glad that these begining peoplle who are getting these comps are not being brainwashed by microsoft to use ie. well i guess they are getting brainwashed because they did just buy a windoes based comp.
- Emptythought, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0To everyone flaming sony entirely because of the rootkit thing, there computer division is ENTIRELY SEPERATE from there music division. and actually makes decent(and quiet) systems generally designed for graphic design type stuff.
they've popped up in deals a number of times when they had a pc for $1000 that was a 3.2ghz p4 with two 200gb hdd's, a gig of ram and an x800xt but no one dugg it -_- - ElectricGrandpa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"good job. now itunes."
Ugh. There's no way I'd want that terribly bloated program as a default on my computer... So poorly programmed. - 298th_Scat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I don't understand why this is under deals??
- DewayneSmith, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Dell's computers are still terrible quality, but this is a nice step forward for Firefox."
Dell Inspiron 9200, absolutely nothing wrong with it. Might have to clean the screen, keys and touch pad every now and then, but do you have to do that with every machine? - driedwater, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0what about the US? Thats when I'll be happy.. when they are preinstalled in the US.
- Osiriscky3, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0i am 666!
- j.carcinogen, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0they ditch MS's browser for AOL's. big deal, Dell always bundled AOL *****.
- DewayneSmith, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Europe needs to realize they're not the only continent...
- thisdude415, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0In other news, it was a cold day in hell today.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0OMGOMGOGMOMGOGMGGOGOM who cares!!!!!!!
