- obliviousfool, on 01/31/2008, -0/+14I figured out how to do it. Firefox+Ad-block plus. The adserver generates a unique 9-digit code so even if you block the ad, it comes back. Replace that 9-digit code with ********* in your filters, and it will make a more generic rule that blocks all variations of that ad.
- zhepp, on 01/31/2008, -0/+9if image goes down, look in a mirror...
- squirrel83, on 01/31/2008, -1/+9ad block - - - I see none!!
- xTRUMANx, on 01/31/2008, -2/+10The last digg post complaining about the ads had a legit complaint: ads playing automatically with sound. But this is getting too picky imo. If kevin is going to get rid of this ad, digg might as well make a section about complaints about ads so ppl can submit which ads they don't like and everyone could vote for kev to take them off the site. Digg should then become ad free in no time.
- 10goto10, on 01/31/2008, -1/+8I'm beginning to think this is all one huge advertising campaign for AdBlock.
- seanmanseanman, on 01/31/2008, -0/+4At least this add is aimed towards the users of Digg..
- Innisskillin, on 01/31/2008, -5/+9A lot of Digg users, I am sure, surf this site on their lunch hour. Thanks for making me throw my lunch away. Get rid of this ad. You may as well put goatse up there.
- tabularassa, on 01/31/2008, -0/+3Thanks for the tip dude. I just installed AdBlock Plus and now I'm acne free (TM)
- Mejogid, on 01/31/2008, -0/+2You only need one * - it represents any number of characters.
- GreenHoops, on 01/31/2008, -0/+2strike one = talking nano bitch
strike two = old person face mutation
strike three = oily puss pimples.....................FOR ***** SAKE - basic0, on 01/31/2008, -0/+2Why don't you just block the entire domain, *.whatever.com/*? Are you worried you might miss out on some really good content from their servers?
- dontaskagain, on 01/31/2008, -0/+2If ads on here are annoying enough people often enough for them to get adblock plus then digg will become ad free, they just wont know it.
- typicalusername, on 01/31/2008, -1/+3I'd take pictures of squirrels ***** over than those damn acne ads!
- phaseblue, on 01/31/2008, -0/+2Although the only thing worse than seeing that ad is seeing this article's *picture* of the ad right under the ad itself at the top of the Upcoming page... Still, I agree: this + the photoshop-wrinkles must go.
- DermDoc, on 01/31/2008, -0/+1That is totally hilarious.
"AdBlock Plus. Better than Proactiv?" - obliviousfool, on 01/31/2008, -0/+1Personally, I just block ads that are lame. I don't mind the ads in general. They pay for digg, after all. Ads with sound, I hate. Ads with crawling spiders, I hate. So I have Flashblock. Ads I feel the need to get rid of are few and far between. This was one of those ads!
- Tigress74, on 02/01/2008, -0/+1What ads? I don't see no ads? ;)
- wildfire, on 01/31/2008, -0/+1Just block http://ads1. -- which I thought was a default rule anyway...

- Cerialthriller, on 02/01/2008, -0/+1yeah i did the same, this finally convinced me to get adblock plus.
- VeryBoredNow, on 01/31/2008, -2/+3Whats next? A cream for Hemorrhoids on digg. I agree with the douchebags above, I've been avoiding digg during lunch hours because the last thing I want to see is another Ron Paul endorment or a picture of pimples.
- obliviousfool, on 01/31/2008, -0/+1Thanks for the tip. I haven't messed around with ABP very extensively, and I was wondering about that.
- Shao00, on 01/31/2008, -1/+2i just re enabled addblock on digg because of these ads.
- swrostmore, on 01/31/2008, -0/+1Is Digg censoring these?
- inactive, on 01/31/2008, -1/+2and the week after that " Do you have herpies" This cream can fix that.
- andrewcsayer, on 01/31/2008, -1/+2Next week on DIGG - Effective Anal Fissures Treatment Guaranteed or a full refund!
- dontaskagain, on 01/31/2008, -1/+2There's a difference between censorship and advertising deals. Digg needs to listen to these complaints because every time an annoying ad is on it gets alot of attention, comments always promote adblock plus (which is how i came across it) i'm sure more diggers now avoid diggs ads because of their annoying nature. So every annoying ad must result in a reduction of over all eyeballs on all digg ads.
- driftin079, on 01/31/2008, -0/+1zing!
- edstittle, on 01/31/2008, -0/+1Digg seem to be pretty stupid about the whole advert thing. Honestly all the ridiculous adverts they've had so far such as this and the wrinkle one and then the "click here to win an Ipod" although that seems to have stopped now. Why don't they just go with some standard ones that other large sites use like for Sky or BT Broadband for example.
- sHockz, on 01/31/2008, -1/+1i feel like i need to pop that ***** right off my screen. im just too afraid it will hit me in the face.
- crossers, on 07/18/2008, -0/+0yes what ads?

the add is gross, - scain, on 01/31/2008, -0/+0Adblock works wonders... if you are not a company computer where installing software, using a thumb drive, etc. could see the loss your income.
- LiquidIse, on 01/31/2008, -2/+1pop?
- abenton, on 01/31/2008, -2/+1Detested, read what you just wrote, and look around Digg. "Grow up a bit" isn't something they understand.
- gr33k, on 01/31/2008, -4/+3Complain Complain Complain...all these ads regardless of how disgusting they are, make digg money which results in keeping digg free and running
- gnews, on 01/31/2008, -5/+4Please, please, please. It is soooo disgusting!
- tabularassa, on 01/31/2008, -3/+2Seriously. Whoever comes up with these disgusting ads, please stop!
what's next?? a 2 girls 1 cup ad? - theNord, on 01/31/2008, -5/+4thank you, I agree. eww.
- devinjohnson2, on 01/31/2008, -4/+2It makes me want to slice them off with a razer sharp knife, then stick them in a chicken pot pie and feed it to a goat.
/wtf? - geekchic, on 01/31/2008, -3/+1Replies with obligatory "how will Digg pay its costs without adverts?" comment
- Cerialthriller, on 01/31/2008, -5/+3yeah this is pretty disgusting while im eatting. why not just have pictures of STD ridden sexual organs up there while I eat.
- leftyourmark, on 01/31/2008, -5/+2***** squirrels
- spidamonkey, on 01/31/2008, -5/+2So what you're saying is that Digg should censor their advertisements?
- EXTER, on 01/31/2008, -5/+2< obligatory >
Firefox + AdBlock FTW!
< / obligatory > - wigam, on 01/31/2008, -8/+4Yeah it makes me want to squeeze them (puke)
- Shiftgood, on 01/31/2008, -6/+1Is everyone really trying to get rid of digg? Why are we abusing a system that gives us so much (procrastination). Let them have ads. They obviously didnt hand pick them. Digg is free and awesome. Not much else in life meets those two criteria. Let them do what they need to do to keep it that way.
SO STFU OR GTFO
/respect digg - Dested, on 01/31/2008, -8/+2Why dont we all grow up a bit and get over it.
- tomazkovacic, on 01/31/2008, -9/+3Let's try to get this issue on the front page.
I've also submitted the same thing a while ago, but it got dugg only 10 times
