- JimXugle, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10Anyone wanna make a Japanese Hiragana, Katakana and Kanji set of flash cards?
- ChillHomie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7The United States IS your mom...
- foomojive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4http://quizlet.com/ is better IMHO
- trogdigg, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Very cool. Wiki syntax for creating the flashcard/matching tables:
State || Capital
California | Sacramento
Texas | Austin - markr, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I disagree - it is hard to hide the answers from regular flashcards and just as easy to cheat - I suppose the algorithm for typing the answers is hard to write (and besides, any method would be possible to cheat - although you're only cheating yourself :-) )
- ahpro, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I just tried it. It's brilliant, works really well for me!
- hobo343, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2arrrgh my eyees
- CanceledCzech, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Hell, any language would be awesome.
- ChillHomie, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3A joke that was funny in 4th grade
- markr, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3If quizzes are quizzical - then what are tests?
- OmanLegend, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2dreambreed.com has a great app for hirigana/katakana flashcards.
- bwilstyle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It kinda sucks. Although it is completely functional, it doesn't seem very intuitive. To not allow it to be a desktop widget would not do it justice.
- rajkalex, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Alright, someone create some flash cards for the guitar. Seems like a good way to learn chords.
- brianburnham, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Interface looks like a TiddlyWiki knock-off. With some work, you could roll your own TiddlyWiki for this.
tiddlywiki.com - krummb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2There are many easier and faster ways to memorize things than by using this setup. Read any of the umpteen books that Harry Lorrayne has published and he'll teach you things like linking, substitution, and the mnemonic alphabet. These methods would help you acquire this data much faster than using any type of flashcard system.

"Sorry, I don't think I was clear - I was making two seperate points, but they blended into one. "
Wait...so.....what you're telling us is that.....it will blend! - CDWMobile, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Would be a pretty cool desktop widget.
- liquidizer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1quizlet - Nice interface, but no quality control on the data sets. One German vocab set is riddled with errors - about a quarter of entries are wrong. That's no way to learn a language. There will be kids failing school tests because someone's bashing in data carelessly.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Nice usability feature of pressing the '1' key. Too many sites ignore accessibility issues like this.
- brendanger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yes! But check out www.speedanki.com - it's not exhaustive, but it's very useful all the same.
- JimXugle, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1That would help if I knew more than 7 Hiragana...
あ, う, く, し, の, り, and ん - clamchowda, on 08/20/2008, -0/+0I've been studying for the SAT's with flashcards at this site:
http://www.muchobeets.com
They have already made flashcards for the SAT's. It's also really easy to create these decks and then study right away. The UI is simple and great too, it makes studying so much easier to do. - nubtard, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Dugg. This kicks ass. If users can enter new tables it will rock.

Another online flashcard site that just launched. Disclosure: I developed it. - WaterDragon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1@monergism
"This is a paid Digg."
Are you saying it is spam...as in trying to sell us something? Perhaps.
If that is true, it would explain why you are getting modded down. (by the corporate shills on digg )
Maybe you / we should mark it as spam - rccgd, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1i did the addition flashcard... and I did very good... thank you... this makes my counting gooder!... i am liking this... i am going to try the multiplying now... you can digg me down now...
- annkitbo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I definitely plan to use this site for quick reviews of information that I need to memorize for my MBA continuing education classes. This is the best on-line review site I've seen. It was very easy to create a new table with the information that I wanted to memorize. I am very pleased to have this tool as a study aid!

Sorry, I don't think I was clear - I was making two seperate points, but they blended into one.
Point 1) I think electronic flashcards kinda suck in general for actual learning. There's some benefit in being able to write on / rapidly flip over / shuffle / hand to someone else a real flashcard which is lost when an electronic medium is used. This application doesn't seem to address any of that or do anything (save the collaborative editing) to advance this 'genre' of programs.
Point 2) This program is even missing features that other entries in this category have which makes them at least good for self-quizing and for use when the terms are short (i.e. language translation) but bad when the the terms are vague or long (i.e. why did rome sack carthage)
My third poing is that I don't think that the collaborative editing (at least as implemented here) is that useful.
These are just my opinions and I could very well be wrong. - andrewlmurray, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I know this may be an unpopular opinion, but i don't think this site works very well. The editing is kinda clumsy and the page looks really cluttered.
Furthermore, I do a lot of memorization and I've yet to find any type of flashcard program that works better than regular flashcards - and this site certainly doesn't do anything new. Sure, you can leverage data entered by others, but much of the sets of things being stored on this site are rather fininte - how hard is it really to find a list of tall the US states and capitals?
Perhaps it would improve if they added the ability to type your answer to a question and have it checked / scored. This would renforce learning and prevent
the user from 'cheating.' - frozensun, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2Although I truly do like the wikis, most I've seen have their front pages defaced. How long is it going to be before we see:
United States | Your MOM! - anachronox, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0darn ...need cash for private user space....
refreshing site though.... - monergism, on 10/12/2007, -7/+3This is a paid Digg.
