Doing both at the same time is illegal. Go figure. Just another example of how the US is still controlled by the superstitious 2,000-year-old mythology. Prostitution doesn't hurt a thing if it's handled right. Go to any one of the many European countries where it's legal. They don't have any problems. Just like drugs, if you remove the illegality from it you remove 95% of the harm done. Prostitution isn't the problem, the problem is nosy prudes thinking they can poke their noses in other people's private business and telling them who they can or can't have sex with. It's no different than the gay marriage issue.
