Otherwise it would be illegal to import goods produced under conditions illegal in the importing country, receive ores obtained through means illegal in the importing country (strip mining, etc.) and thousands of other conflicts of law.

Also , the day and time the old Pirate Bay Servers along with every other server in that particular office area were confiscated by the police , the data down spike was clearly visible for all to see.

It's not a firewall your friend (and apparently you) needs to be using, it's either an IP blocker like Peerguardian, or an encrypted VPN/proxy.
edit: To clarify, a firewall isn't going to block your IP address from the RIAA/MPAA and their minions. You need to either block them from connecting to you and/or you from them (i.e. through an IP blocker), or prevent them from discovering your IP address (i.e. by connecting through a proxy/encrypted tunnel). -
