- alex77, on 10/12/2007, -10/+26Why is it seen as cool to show off 133t spelling skillz? As long as a persons meaning is conveyed surely it doesn't really matter? Besides, maximise isn't a misspelling, thats how we Brits spell.
- supremesonic, on 10/12/2007, -6/+20I love it when people try to insult someone else, but then make themselves look like complete idiots in the process.
Also, Brits for the win! - vak66, on 10/12/2007, -7/+20tip #2

Main Entry: max·i·mise

Don't assume. - mvandemar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Maybe not, but with the right low end host, Getting Dugg === Getting Screwed. Close enough as far as I am concerned.

Compile a Complete Definitive List of the 10 Most AMAZING Digg Tips EVER of All-Time with picture! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5His site is ranked 900,000+ on alexa.. just makes me think he wrote this ONLY to get dugg and make his site do something.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5getting dugg doesn't incur a huge bandwidth bill. every time i've had a page dugg to the front page, i get about anywhere from 20,000 to 50,000 hits. multiply this by maybe 100 KB for a page and all its images, and you have maybe 2 - 5 GB of traffic. that's not much. most half-decent hosting plans come with 50-100 GB/month at least. if yours doesn't, install adsense and you'll make up in ad revenue well more than the cost per GB of over-bandwidth.

Way to use one random, stupid comment to make a sweeping generalization about an entire country. Glad your lessons in multiculturalism paid off. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Great, more dugg articles on digg about digg.
Digg is getting more and more recursive lately.
Can we get a Digg category please? So we can at least use filters to make Digg more useful. - raid517, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4"But we speak a cute dialect of proper English -- who doesn't love a little linguistic deviance now and then?"
Hey I don't mind it. But don't go telling people from the spiritual and cultural home of the English language - the language which is now the dominant force in the world today and which allows people from a huge diversity of cultures and backgrounds to communicate with each other, that we don't know how to spell.
Having said which there are several localised (ha! I knew I would fit one in!) versions of English spellings around the world, so you Yanks aren't the only one's who need to brush up a little on (re)learning the Queen's English. - NewChar, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5BREAKING: Vista sucks Steve Jobs' Apple
- Burmask, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Write an Apple story with provocative headline is all the advice you need.

"wierd"? - rudy23, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Note to Diggers. Getting Dugg != Getting Laid
- Sneakernets, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yes yes, "Maximize" is the OED standard (That all legal and formal documents should, or supposed to follow), but the -ise is such habit...
- hobbsy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2On average, how much bandwidth would a typical front page Digg use up on your server?
- daborg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2pwnd
- DijitalJB, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@raid517: I'm a Brit and you should learn how to use apostrophes!

If you're going to criticise (haha did it) someone's language skills best be sure you're correct yourself! - Sparkster185, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Aren't those "tips" things webmasters should do in the first place regardless of whether they get dugg?
- profOblivion, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4It should be noted that this does not mean Getting dugg == !(Getting laid). Think about it.
- HaltingPoint, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This blog launched this month. As in...the 7th of February. As in 2 days ago.
While he says its just an extension of his other site...I have to admit I'm a bit curious how this site was found initially and how it made the front page this quickly. Seems a bit fishy. - paulmdx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Anyone who's sick of searchjerk might like to Google it and try the second result. (I won't link it and spam myself..)
- HaltingPoint, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Can you toss out some figures as to how much AdSense revenue is generated from being Dugg and getting 20k-50k visits? I mean...not YOUR actual figures per se....but estimated figures for someone with a site um...very very similar to yours....*wink wink*
- Maggette, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Easy. Just put "BREAKING! PLEASE DIGG THIS UP PEOPLE HAVE TO KNOW!" in the headline.

- smacksy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is barely 2 paragraphs with the most obvious "tips" I've ever heard. Here's the entire thing: Have Good Content, Make It Easy To Join, and Have More Good Content.
Maybe a new "braindead 11-year olds" category for Digg?

You do know, even in the UK, that the 'z' is the preferred spelling with regards academic papers etc? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2it wasn't in response to just that particular comment, rather, a lot of similar things i've seen around.
- roland, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0How to blogspam:
Step 1. write an article on how to blogspam
Step 2. use steps
Step 3. DIGG! - Snarfy, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2How to get dugg?
1. Start your headline with the word "BREAKING" in all caps
2. Misspell a key word in the title. It grabs your attention.
3. Post about how Linux is great and about how Microsoft/Sony/Bush/(insert evil entity here) is evil - raid517, on 10/12/2007, -9/+6Tip #3 you Yanks should learn to speak (and spell) proper English.
- okgaz, on 10/12/2007, -11/+7way to maximice a minor spelling issue
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -12/+5this is why americans need to think about their stupid jobs less and think about personal life and travelling and understanding other people more.
EVERY other country knows how americans spell. i know, i've travelled, people are shown the american "wierd" spelling in school. it's sad that americans don't even have a clue that the rest of the world spells differently. - UglieJosh, on 10/12/2007, -50/+15Tip #1: Spell 'maximize' correctly.
