  • inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5getting dugg doesn't incur a huge bandwidth bill. every time i've had a page dugg to the front page, i get about anywhere from 20,000 to 50,000 hits. multiply this by maybe 100 KB for a page and all its images, and you have maybe 2 - 5 GB of traffic. that's not much. most half-decent hosting plans come with 50-100 GB/month at least. if yours doesn't, install adsense and you'll make up in ad revenue well more than the cost per GB of over-bandwidth.

    Hey I don't mind it. But don't go telling people from the spiritual and cultural home of the English language - the language which is now the dominant force in the world today and which allows people from a huge diversity of cultures and backgrounds to communicate with each other, that we don't know how to spell.

    Having said which there are several localised (ha! I knew I would fit one in!) versions of English spellings around the world, so you Yanks aren't the only one's who need to brush up a little on (re)learning the Queen's English.

    You do know, even in the UK, that the 'z' is the preferred spelling with regards academic papers etc?

    EVERY other country knows how americans spell. i know, i've travelled, people are shown the american "wierd" spelling in school. it's sad that americans don't even have a clue that the rest of the world spells differently.
