Comcast suddenly respects FCC authority over throttling

arstechnica.com — Comcast has been vocal in making the claim that the FCC actually lacks the authority to rule on traffic management practices, but the company recently made the opposite argument in court as it worked to have a lawsuit against it put on hold.

    Comcast are a bunch of *****-I was a victim of their throttling BS-it was so obvious I could tell what was happening before it was exposed in the news...got so frustrated with it I went to DSL 6mb which, yes, is not as fast but I have much more consistent and reliable bandwidth-yeah, fast is great and I miss it sometimes but ZERO, bumped, zilch, crawl to a useless almost complete ***** stop is NOT SO GOOD-***** the ***** (trust me, they will still end up screwing everyone they can).
    I wonder if they are ever going to get it for the bait and switch they pulled on HD/TVR upgraders also??? Yes, I ditched their ***** cable TV also and went DirectTV along with almost every one of my neighbors (who aren't in foreclosure-don't get me started)

    We are ***** no matter which way you slice it unless we all decide to stop taking this big corporation, criminally run, in your "*****" crap (FISA-Big Brother anyone?) government we are eating now.
    Sadly >NOT< for the people.

  • Tevediggs, on 07/10/2008, -0/+0I would go beyond borderline monopoly. In the Denver area the only other choice for broadband is like $80 a month for ***** 700kbps satellite. Then again it might be worth the extra $$ since comcast delivers such a ***** product. And their cable sucks too!!!
  • gkiltz, on 07/10/2008, -0/+0Real Reason: I live in an area served(to use the term loosely) by Comcast. We can also get Verizon DSL, Which is what I have.
    There are more DirecTV customers on my street than Comcast customers, and Dish Network holds it's own! Not surprisingly, most of the Comcast customers are renters, and most of the houses have a DirecTV dish sitting there that was used by the owner, before he/she/they upgraded, moved to something bigger, and kept their place here as an investment!
