- moosebumps, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12This sounds more like Coca Cola Blech to me.
With so much attention to addiction, I'd figure they'd have brewed some cigarettes in there by now. - amanie, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8I'll give it a try but I'm not anticipating the love. It sounds pretty disgusting to me. I mean, would you put cola in your coffee now?
- frem001, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8hope it doesn't taste like the pepsi version... blah
- Lumiras, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5When I want to be refreshed, I want to chug an ice cold, fizzy...............coffee?
Maybe it'll be good, but carbonated coffee just doesn't sound very appealing. But, I'll try any new soft drink on the market when I find it - Erroneus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Once you go blak, you never go back!
- brichards99, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Did anyone notice that the phonetic pronunciation indicated by the label tells us that we should pronounce this as Coke "Blake"?
- ahhell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Yum...it'll be like drinking coffee flavoured Aunt Jemima.
- oxymoron69, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7so does that guy work for the Coca-Cola Corporation? or is that some sort of astroturf marketing type thing? seems kinda sneaky
- ekkalvia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Cofa-Colee?
- HoserX, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Had the Pepsi version in India where it is called Cafe Chino. I liked it, but my friend complained it was too sweet.

All these Coke and Pepsi stuff are bad for you. I am not saying you should not drink it but at the same time, do not get addicted to it. I have coworkers here who drink coke like it was water - they consume 4-5 cans *every* day!! They are addicted. Please take care of yourself ...and each other. - SillyMamma, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Mmmmm. Coffoke.
- Cerebral, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Forget this crap...
BRING BACK CRYSTAL PEPSI!!!!!! - thenativeraver, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6*cough*

- MediaShipper, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3MMMMM, can't get enough of that reheated ass! Ass-alicious!
- SCARECR0W, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3They test marketed their swill here... and I can tell you firsthand, that this ***** is nasty.
Not a good combo at all.
It's sickening sweet and tastes like ass re-heated from the night before and served on a paper plate.
I'll pass, thanks. - Iriel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3While I wouldn't pour fresh Cola in my coffee (I know people who have), a certain amount of cola syrup as a sort of 'flavor shot' in a coffee drink doesn't sound that bad.
- ezweave, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Reviews say: not so good.
http://www.bevnet.com/reviews/coke_blak/ - gadgetsguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I totally agree here and I think like many things that feel good/taste good/look good/smell good, moderation is the key word ... I drink alot of coffee, but am not a huge soft drink advocate really. anything that can make a 30 year old penny look new in 24 hours cannot be good for our stomaches, but hey, I'm still up to trying this - at least to say that I have, and who knows, I may end up even liking it enough for a weekly treat!
GG - brockpetrie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2actually he is totally right... -good eye. somewhat strange for a gadget site...
anyway, the bottle design for this is awesome; very appealing. id love for them to sell this stuff in minnesota - chiefbozz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I wanna know where they are available, the guys blog says it's available in the Phoenix, AZ (test market) area but I haven't seen any and I looked on Cokes site at their press release which said nothing about it. I wonder where this guy is getting his info.
- rodrigo74, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Pepsi releases "Pepsi Max Capuccino" here in Norway, I guess it's similar to the one released in India...
EVERYONE I asked thought it was way too sweet. Probably won't last long and follow the same path as Vanilla Coke. - ModernTenshi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Good to know I'm not the only one who still knows the use of those symbols! ^_^ /
- eXp0se, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I'm in Gilbert and I haven't seen anything either....but when I do see it, you guys will be the first to hear about it.
- chiller2002, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"Old News" usually means that it is old news on Digg, not on CNN, and doesn't mean the article itself can't be old (so long as it is still relevant), just not previously dugg. I don't know if this has been previously on Digg, but I have heard of Blac before. That still doesn't mean I need to flood the comments section with random rants on it being "Old".
On with my actual comment:
I'm a huge Coke fan, haven't been into coffee though. I would be interested in seeing exactly how the two taste mixed together. Although I imagine that it will be one of those novelty drinks that fade from stores over a couple years, like Surge!, which I liked. - fifrenzy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I live in Phoenix and I haven't seen it at any grocery stores or gas stations yet.
- kennyboy019, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I knew one of the people in the think tank that came up with the Starbucks Frapichino, and she told me that Starbucks wanted it to be carbonated but they talked them out of it :p
I honestly can not see this being that good. - ielliott, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Who cares who did it first - the only thing who matters is who does it better. I've never heard of Pepsi's version - and now I've heard of Coke's. On top of that, it sounds good so I'll buy it as soon as it's available. Coke wins even though Pepsi had a head start.
- unclewilco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Coke 'drinks India dry'
For every 2.7 litres of water it takes, it produces one litre of product
http://observer.guardian.co.uk/business/story/0,,1734036,00.html
A Coca-Cola spokesman said: 'We have a genuine commitment to adequate and equitable access to water. ......We have installed rainwater harvesting systems in 26 of our plants so far.' !! Mmmm CokeRain - rightbrain12, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2seriously. Kona = sucktastic.
- elhammond, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2More info.
http://www2.coca-cola.com/presscenter/nr_20051207_corporate_blak.html - ModernTenshi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It's to make it marketable. You can't copyright the word "black" since it's an "everyday" word. Same reason Blu-ray isn't Blue-ray, and Flickr isn't Flicker; brand name association basically. It's also kind of the reason AMD won against Intel back in the 8086 days, for those of you who know what I'm talking about.
- p3ngu1n, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14-5 cans a day? There's a lady in my office that buys Diet Coke from Sams by the PALLETTE. No, I'm not kidding.
- elnerdo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I could have sworn I saw this on digg a LOONG time ago. This isn't new news.
- weathersinc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This has been advertised in my area for weeks. They say that this has been a Coke product for years in other countries and the new version is tweaked for US taste.
- shoeshine, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The news of the drink being developed is old, but this is the first I've heard of it being tested. I can't wait for it's release.
- Iriel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What's worse are the en-o-gee drink junkies. I've seen cubicle monkeys with shrines on top of their cabinets filled with stacks of all the Red Bull cans they've gone through. I swear, energy drinks are probably just as bad as Fatkins and all the crash diets we see people go through.
My ultimate justification for not getting hooked on diets/energy drinks/starbucks/smoking/whatever is the hideous cost of all this crap. I just can't spend 2-3 dollars on a tiny can of sugar/caffiene without seeing the can as having horns, a pitchfork and a tail. - redzombi2k, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I live in Texas, and I saw a commercial for this last week.
- BloodyRids, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Quit linking to your own blog.
- perchef, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3that's indeed old news, it's launched in France since January : http://www2.coca-cola.com/presscenter/nr_20051207_corporate_blak.html
digg nonetheless... - jeffley, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Sounds cool but I can't wait for vanilla blak, and then the inevitable blak black cherry vanilla. Then there will be the diet blak, blak w/ splenda, blak zero, blak lime, blak caffeine free, ok that last one was a little far fetched, caffeine is the whole point right. Really I can't wait to try it.
- ApplePenguin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Gadgetsguy:
you *do* realize that your stomach can dissolve a nail, right? Coke is pretty damn tame compared to what's in your digestive tract. - rtay150, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3OLD OLD OLD DUPE DUPE DUPE!!!!!
ABSOLUTLY NO TECH RELEVANCE - botrash, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hmmm I live in Phoenix, I haven't seen it yet. Sounds like it could give me even worse breath that diet coke...
Speaking of weird sodas anybody remember OK soda by COKE? That stuff was weird... - slack31337, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i can feel the kidney stones forming as i type
- ModernTenshi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Is anyone else but me getting a little tired of all the new fusion or new version drinks? We have:
Mt. Dew Code Red (which I like, actually)
Mt. Dew Pitch Black (good until they added the sour taste)
Mt. Dew Live Wire (meh)
Mt. Dew Baja Blast (only available at Taco Bell, and quite frankly it can stay there)
Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper
Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper
7up C+ (or something like that)
Vanilla Coke
Pepsi Vanilla
Pepsi Blue (**barf**)
Coke with Lime/Lemon
Lime/Lemon Pepsi
. . . and I'm sure there's a ***** load of others I can't think of right now.
What the hell happened to just Pepsi, Coke, Mt. Dew, Dr. Pepper, 7up and A&W? Sure there were different brands, but there weren't different kinds of each soda from each brand. You get to liking one of the new flavors, then you can't get it from the fountain at McDonald's or some other fast-food place. Granted, I like some of them, but come on, do we really need a new kind of soda every 6 months? - GoblinCock, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'll take diet lime coke over this anyday
- thenativeraver, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2In other old news today, Pepsi cola company has started production on a new soda drink called "Mountain Dew"...
- gadgetsguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You are one sick bastard is all I have to reply to that!
How you could see kiddie porn in a father and daughter moment caught on a camcorder is VERY disturbing ...
I pray you do NOT have children ... you sickko !! -
