- Tsujigiri, on 10/12/2007, -0/+20Cool idea.
Suffering from the digg effect, socialmeter.com has ironically become too popular for it's own good. ;) - awhiteflame, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14Do they scan AOL's released searches?
- pickupjojo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11The results for Digg are very hot : more than 660K pages !
http://www.socialmeter.com/check?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.digg.com - hriwo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11It's neat for sure but I prefer http://www.talkdigger.com/
- olddirtycr, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11*waits for some idiot to post a mirrored link*
- boozedrinker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9I'll check my website's popularity, and you check you headline word usage ;-)
- dwnwrd, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6It's not missing a r; it's missing an r.
- brianjameskirk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5*waits for Digg vs. Netscape comparisons, jokes, and eventual Rose vs. Calacanis blog wars
- gd007, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4cool, but why the heading is missing a r.
- seattle98104, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4yes, but does it check my digg article headline's grammar?
- bannus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Try it without the "www"—it's even higher
http://www.socialmeter.com/check?url=http%3A%2F%2Fdigg.com%2F - Mysk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Good idea, but the implementation is broken. It returned my own sub-domain as a source that links to my blog and it's also counting posts on my blog that link to each other as external links to my posts.
The other services (Google, Technorati, and so on) may be more at fault than SocialMeter and TalkDigg as they seem to do nothing beyond pulling data from those sources. However, they could increase the usefulness of their services if they included simple filters to remove such obvious duplicate entries.
~Mysk - 13tongimp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It doesn't do delicious links correctly. The subpages on my site don't show up in that search. It could be more useful if it just didn't do the default searches on those sites, because in reality that is all it pretty much does.
Good concept, needs to be tweaked seriously though. - JavertHolmes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I'm working on a site which currently checks the value of the other sites which check your site's popularity on other social sites. Consider it the PageRank of meta-meta-analysis.
- georgelogy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I check you, website!
- chieffy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The letter 'r' is pronounced like you pronounce the word "are". This means you treat it as a word beginning with a vowel. The same applies to, for example, an SD memory chip or an X-RAY.
- garrettnb, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4dugg already?
- boozedrinker, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Wow - I never knew about talkdigger, thanks for the suggestion!
- virtualmachine, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Look closely the results aren't correct. Nice site but doesn't work as advertised.
- riah, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yeah, there's something wrong with the del.icio.us counter. If you actually click the link it'll give you results, even when the counter says 0.
- pokka, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Everytime I refresh the page, I get a completely different "score" for my site. And even myspace.com gets a zero in more than half the columns (the del.icio.us one seems to always be 0)...
- TheButterStick, on 02/24/2008, -0/+1Yeah, one of them gave me a link that said my site had over 2000 linkbacks, but they were false. Digg said I had 0, which was strange since I'm on digg, but never heard of the other site.
- dataplain, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2So simple, but a ton of fun.
- Rice, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Dugg for the concept. It's just simply a good idea.
- ki85squared, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It would be even higher if there were some results from Google... too bad it searches Google with the term "digg.com" (1 result). It's highly inaccurate compared to "digg". *shrug*
- knightblade2oo4, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i got six on digg and 4 on technorati... my site must suck.
- computerbynar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i only subimitted something to digg and got 1,126 for my page that got on digg
http://www.socialmeter.com/check?url=barnt.org%3A81%2F%7Ejared - tylerni7, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2That's funny I'm making a website that checks the popularity of the sites that check the popularity of sites that check the popularity of sites! It's more like the PageRank of meta-meta-meta-analysis.
- pbarnes7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Funny, my employer (Ivy League college) got a score of 9,595!!!
- JonisJon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Cool idea... needs some tweaking, does not work perfectly. I am not sure it picks up everything.
- jackdee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0ah, can we spell v-i-r-a-l (but fun).
- JolietJake, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Cool, how do you know if you got a good score? I guess if you have ask...
- slantyeyed, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1reminds me of stalkerati.com
- bagiz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It is a really great resource, I often check it. Thank you!
- ladybird1005, on 10/29/2009, -0/+0Hi! http://www.estimix.com is a great site valuation tool that seems to generate very accurate information.
- upfrontfanatic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@knightblade
I'm surprise my site showed up at all. But then again I don't care much for being "social" among websites. - ellenweber, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1This is an interesting scoring system -- and yet I am often curious about what criteria are used to measure. These are not always clear. Thanks for sharing this though!
Brain Based Business - imnsi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0the social meter seems to be running low on batteries
- smnash, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I likes... now all I have to do is to get a 'sociable' website
- kevinthecollie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It was giving an error message when I tried it - 18 Oct
- IMKreativiTea, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0A good tool.
- deltwalrus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1But befor your do check you're sites popularity, check you spellig in the title...
- jamsea, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Why would you use "an" instead of "a" in front of r...
R is not a vowel... Let's see who the grammar Nazi's digg down, they're probably very confused. :P - dataplain, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Try http://www2.socialmeter.com/ if that link is slow.
- Vigo, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2Why doesn't it search netscape?
......I'm kidding, I'm sorry. - neodon, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2Proofread before submitting, idiot.
- fadeaway, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1What, no Shoutwire?
- PAJK, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1I got a score of 819. ;-)
- cyroxos, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1Link fails.
- cfuentea, on 10/12/2007, -9/+4Very funny ah..
