- jrob, on 10/12/2007, -4/+28they have a great return policy
- jaffo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21Yeah, but you don't need to buy an extended warranty from Best Buy (or wherever). If you buy it at costco (or costco online), you can return it to any costco for a full refund at any time if you ever have a problem. Not sure how much the extended warranty costs at other places, but subtract $30.00 plus the cost of an extended warranty and that is cheaper than other places. I can think of plenty of other things to do with $30+ dollars. Then again, I can think of other things to do with $489.99, too....
- goat77, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17I always buy games at costco because they're $5 cheaper no matter what.
- SoccerBoy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16Have you ever bought anything from them? I would guess you haven't... if you had you would realize just a bad of a question that is.
- swoosh_bnd, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16This is definately the premium version of the Xbox 360. Right where it says:
"Bundle includes:
* Xbox 360™ System ($399.99)" - trunkster, on 10/12/2007, -4/+18My local costco had like 40 of these when I went there last week. Glad to see people will actually be able to buy one now.
- SideshowBob, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Yet another reason that Costco=awesome. Not gonna run out and buy one though. I will resist the temptation until the next Halo comes out.
- nebunezzar, on 10/12/2007, -3/+14They also have accessories at the price they *should* sell for. $30 for a mem card instead of $40, $39 for wireless controller instead of $50.
- SimonX314, on 10/12/2007, -6/+17@ socket: Here is an HD-DVD player at launch for $500:

PS3 is 3 times the machine as the 360? Wake up fanboy and do some research, the 360 has more general purpose processing power, and a more powerful graphics card. The only area that the PS3 has more power in is special purpose processing power, which can only be used for encoding/decoding of media, such as bluray. - Rickler, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11Costco is ***** awesome. 24 pack of snapple for $11.79 anyone?!?!!
- merdiesel, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12After getting screwed by Gamestop, i got my system at Costco the day of launch. Great bundle.
- aurrea, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Agreed! I wish the Costco retail stores held a bigger stock of games. ANY game I plan on buying, I go there first knowing that I will pay 5-9 dollars cheaper than eb, best buy... etc.
- evoleddy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8I just picked mine up on friday from costco. Its cool because SAVED MONEY IS SAVED MONEY. im happy when I find a dollar, if I can save 30 dollars then its worth it.
thumbs up costco for having stuff in stock - pjh3000, on 10/12/2007, -9/+17Wow, you sure showed us! I guess by association you're saying all Xbox 360 owners are gay too. Yes, we're so gay for enjoy a product that is actually AVAILABLE and has over 50 games that run on it RIGHT NOW. As opposed to what? PS3 and Revolution owners? Oh wait, those consoles aren't out yet. Revolution is at least 3 months away, and the PS3 won't be available for another year or more. But yes, those of us here on earth that like to play a system that actually exists are gay, rather than those that sit alone in their parents basements, pretending a big cardboard box with the initials PS3 written on it is fun. So excuse us if we're a little gay.
- ender52, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9More importantly, CostCo is the only place where i've found "Cattle Drive" brand chili. Good stuff...
- DCstewieG, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10"the PS3 is easily 3x's the machine or more"
If you were trying to say "3 times the machine" I laugh at both your attempt to spell it and your nievity.
"Try finding a HD-DVD player for $500 at launch..."
Umm, there IS an HD-DVD player for $500....and try finding a PS3 at Blu-ray's launch. - milkfilk, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11And because they buy in maaaasive quanities. The only advantage of our ultra-busy USA economy. :P
- SoccerBoy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I hear ya there... but when Halo comes out I'm ***** out of luck...
- Dabellah, on 10/12/2007, -10/+16That's almost another complete title... Wtf, since when is $30 not a lot?
- nebunezzar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Anything less than msrp is a savings, so if you're going to get one why not save a little? Sure it's only $30 off, but it's still $30. Anyone who has taken an econ class realizes that it's not about the percentage but the real cost. Besides, Jaffo has a point with the return policy.
- YossarianDent, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7@DCstewieG:
"I laugh at both your attempt to spell it and your nievity."
If you were trying to say "naivete", I laugh at...your attempt to spell it. - Terc, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9Hey, everyone relax, yes, it's a good deal on an xbox 360 if you were planning on getting one. Yes, $480 is a lot of money, but by buying a bundle, you save. Good deal, if you wanted to get it anyways.
- iSEPIC, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6I pre-ordered mine in Oct of last year, got it in the mail the day after it was in the stores, took it back last month to the local costco.. got 100% of my money back. It was making the weird noise from the fan, sounded like the fan was going out. The local costco gave me back 100% meaning, tax, shipping and the cost of the bundle!! So, now I can buy the 2nd gen xbox 360 with no loud fan issues, got it the next day, and of course, didn't have to pay the 24$ shipping. COSTCO IS GREAT!!!!
- o0joshua0o, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6This may be a reduced price and a comparatively good deal, but it's still too much for me. I'll wait until the first price drop.
Too Human looks awesome, BTW. - shinynew, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6but when your at costco you can probably get like a life supply of ramen noodles for 30$
- matthawaii, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6We don't have any of them here in Hawaii.
When I tried to order one on-line, I got:
We're sorry, but we cannot currently ship item #155555 to HI.
I guess that is the price of living in paradise.
-M - shinynew, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6me thinks that the gay pride festivals with be a tad bigger this year with this news in.
more news at 10 another fanboy called something gay - hcl40u, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Then expect the same from $ony with their P$3. Not like that is anything new with Sony or MS products of course.
- Erroneus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6two words: Hard Drive
- MilenkoD, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Bought mine at Costco about a month ago....bought three of them. They are still pretty hard to come by..even at Costco. Last month they had three pallets-worth...sold out in less than two days.
...and for the PS3 fans...didn't you hear Kevin Rose's comments on the last diggnation? ..PS3 graphics not a whole hell-of-a-lot of difference between it and the Xbox 360.... - wilf_brim, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The deals are similar. The Costco deal is $40 more, but comes with PGR. I agree with that Costco is better than Sams club (quite a bit better), however, some of us don't have a choice: Sam's Club is the only game in town. Grrrr.....
- DeeEffEss, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I was at Costco the other day, and they had a few of these. It was actually only $440 for this bundle though. More expensive online maybe?
Now I just need the money. The hard part. - SUPERZERO, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5I was in my local Best Buy today and noticed that the person in front of me was getting a 360. I have no idea how much stock they have but it might be worth checking out if you're looking.
- perrywinkle, on 10/12/2007, -8/+10Bundle = Everything you should expect to get for 300 at a 500 dollar price tag.
Save = 30 Dollars which is less than 10% of the actual price, which if anyone has done pricing or been in marketing knows isn't even worth wiping your ass about.
I mean if its like 60 bucks, or even 50 then woo-hoo another game... but come on, 30 bucks on a 500 dollar system? Just wait in 18 months the price will drop and it'll be actually worth owning. - metroidchief, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Costco pays their workers well and they also have good benefits from what I hear, this unlike the slavedriver that is Wal-mart
- TripTucker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2For $40 less you can get everything else but the game at sams club. $40 is a bargain for a 360 game, but not everyone will want this game. sams club also seems to have 40+ units in stock in all of the busier store locations.
- SimonX314, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3@ Rickler:
Many developers have publicly stated that 1080p gaming this generation will not be feasible. Any hardware engineer or game developer will tell you the 360s GPU is more powerful, as do many technology websites. Upon researching the GPUs of both consoles you will find that the 360's GPU has 332 million transisters compared to the PS3 GPU's 300 million transistors. The 360 GPU operates at 500MHz and has a 256-bit memory interface to 512MB of 700MHz GDDR3 RAM. The PS3 GPU runs at 550MHz and has a 128-bit memory interface to 256MB of 700MHz GDDR3 RAM. The 360 has unified pixel shaders and 10MB of embedded DRAM. The PS3 has seperate pixel pipelines and no emebedded DRAM. The PS3 GPU is at a significant disadvantage with half the memory interface, half the memory available, no embedded DRAM and the older style pixel pipelines. - nebunezzar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I went to Best Buy a week or two ago and they had a shipment arrive on the 2nd. I couldn't resist when I saw 30 premiums stacked in a mountain on the floor. I don't think I've ever seen that many consoles at once. So far the only thing that pisses me off is you can't transfer old xbox saves to the 360 (without a little hackery).
- broo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Hmmm... $490 + $30 for standard shipping- or $80 for 'express' shipping... They also charge tax on top of that (at least in Atlanta, GA)- for that $30 it would be much more enjoyable (instant gratification) to drive over to Costo and pick one up...
Now we just need to tell the guy on eBay that he is never going to get $1300 for his used xBox (w/ 10 games) now that everyone has these in stock... - weirdlookinguy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Awesome! I love costco buy all my games there. If only I had the ca$h for a 360 laying aorund :(
- xLiKx, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3@pjh3000
you are exactly right! it's interesting when people compare vaporware to an existing console. i plan on getting the other systems also but it's just hilarious when fanboys compare nonexistent consoles/games to games people are actually playing right now. i know i'm satisfied with the 360 right now and i hope to see the PS3/Rev's debut.
fanboys are an interesting breed of idiotic species. - Sparhawk2k, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Gaming, sun, gaming, sun, gaming sun...? Hmmm...?
- shortcircuit13, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Oh man, you darn tootin' showed him, didn't ya?
There are just two facts that absolutely tickle me to death.
First is the notion that you, having demonstrated that you have the mental capabilities of a 12-year-old with rabies, feel entitled to actually waste your KB of bandwidth on Digg saying things that, let's face it, must be so absolutely truthful as to not need more than a few exclamation points to justify.
Second is the fact that, though you yourself probably have a vague notion that you may not be ready for the real world at your current level of mental development, any comment which, intentionally or unintentionally, tries to point out the absolute idiocy and bigotry of your comment is met with "LALALALALA! I CAN'T HEAR YOU!" Good luck in the real world, kid. You'll need so much more of it than anyone can ever provide. - gab00n, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3You can buy the $399 one for said price at best buy's website.
- nuXan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'd GLADLY pay full price for every item in this bundle, knowing I bought it from Costco with their return policy.
I'm very religeous on shopping at Costco and Sam's Club. It is simply retarded to buy any electronics or any other slightly higher priced items anywhere else. "For as long as you keep the same membership, you can return any item you purchase from here." - An employee at Costco.
My next purchase of an lcd tv (or SED if I wait long enough) will be from here. I guarantee I will have issues with it 2 years down the road. If it warrants me hauling it back to the store, I will indeed get my money back. My 65" Digital Ultravision (rear projection.) has an overscan issue with 1080i!! I just found out, but it also turns out nearly all rear projection tv's have this issue. It was a 4000$ tv, great in every aspect other than this issue. - JDOG, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Okay, first off, there won't be an XBMC for the 360 for at least another year...hacking efforts are under way, but nobody has broken the system in half enough to allow for something like XBMC to be put on there yet. So you might end up waiting longer than you think.
Secondly, Sam's Club is owned by Wal Mart. Would you rather spend your ~$470 at Wal-Mart of Costco? Personally I'll go with Costco anyday. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Anyone who tries to make definitive statements about graphics quality of unreleased, non-final systems is a moron. Period. However, that person isn't a dumb as whoever takes his word as truth.
From what I've seen in various videos, (MGS running on a realtime dev station), the PS3 has plenty of power. We'll compare quality when the thing is actually available in stores. But to declare that the graphics are 'no different' than the XBox 360 while the console is still in development is retarded. It's just like Vista alpha and beta testers saying 'this thing isn't stable'. No ***** Sherlock, it's still being worked on. - number8888, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The Canadian Costco has the a similar bundle without PGR3 that cast 569.99 CAD. It would have been nice if they include a game instead of that charge kit. Considering that we won't see a price drop on the X360 any time soon both bundles would be as good as it gets for a while. Highly recommended for anyone that still wants one.
- staticten, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1WOW!!
you must live in the jungle dude...........really? You had them in stock for ages?
haha, you must live in a place far far away! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1One word: "definitely"
