- nichesiteexpert, on 11/18/2008, -7/+22Frankly, I find Twitter to be a huge waste of time, and haven't quite figured out how to leverage it in my business yet.
- brainnovate, on 11/18/2008, -1/+9The link has been repaired. Thanks Digg Support!
- michaelpinto, on 11/18/2008, -1/+9Twitter forces you to be concise, which in itself adds value. Besides there are other tools if you need to communicate on another level...
- Surferess, on 11/18/2008, -0/+7for some reason it is taking me to my google reader. It is like a digg twilight zone moment.
- brainnovate, on 11/18/2008, -0/+6Well thats proof not everyone who comments reads the article. I messed up the link :(
- dtyler21, on 11/18/2008, -1/+7that's crazy.. it's got 110 diggs, but the link is going to google reader
- prossi10, on 11/19/2008, -3/+8I don't really see the purpose of Twitter. I don't use it, and I think the people who do use it are extraordinarily self absorbed that they think anybody cares about their witty quick thoughts and musings. Can somebody explain to me its purpose? Wow, I sound like my Mom.
- 2of8, on 11/19/2008, -0/+4Open up a ***** IRC channel, that's what I think.
- OneOfNone, on 11/18/2008, -1/+5Using your fine metaphor, Twitter is a means to do the reverse - to liberate the bathroom of your mind into outside world. Yes, I am trying to judge a tool by its typical use, silly me. /s
- inactive, on 11/19/2008, -4/+8Twitter is useless like all other social networking sites.
- ousthouse, on 11/19/2008, -0/+4Twitter has done nothing but show me that people's lives are even more boring than I originally thought.
- inactive, on 11/19/2008, -1/+4This is just ***** crap. I really hate it when people think stupid web gimmicks are actually important and not just another way of wasting time.
- inactive, on 11/19/2008, -1/+4Yessir!
- krnldmp, on 11/19/2008, -1/+4No.
- inactive, on 11/19/2008, -0/+3You're talking to the wrong crowd with this one. These guys are actually convinced that Linux could replace Windows tomorrow.
- ternto333, on 11/19/2008, -1/+3Twitter dominates. I don't know how they are planning on making any money, but it is an AWESOME way to connect with all sorts of people.
- inactive, on 11/19/2008, -0/+2But who gives a *****, honestly? Businesses would use Sharepoint or MediaWiki if they really wanted to collaborate.
- Narcowski, on 11/19/2008, -0/+2Someone missed the meme-death bus.
- MattBlackCat, on 11/19/2008, -0/+2Why would any firm willingly hire a twit?
- inactive, on 01/27/2009, -0/+1Twitter should be renamed to ***** for all the micro-blogging diarrhea it collects
- statix, on 11/19/2008, -0/+1There are other sites that build on the idea of Twitter. Buzzable and Twingr are two examples. They enable groups of similar interests to connect together and 'tweet' to each other. Using this encourages deep discussion and the exchange of new ideas. If they were able to implement this into their system they would definately be able to reap the benefits.
- RobotBuddha, on 11/19/2008, -0/+1Wasting time(having fun) is important.
- longlifenoodle, on 11/19/2008, -0/+1You took the words right out of my mouse!
- djcap, on 11/19/2008, -0/+1Including the one you're currently using?
- brainnovate, on 11/18/2008, -1/+2Diggers love Twitter! What else can I say!
- cddict1, on 11/19/2008, -0/+1Yes very true...it a great way to have big networking in short span of time. but from where they get the fundings?
- RobotBuddha, on 11/19/2008, -1/+1I can get the witty and quick thoughts of John Hodgman on twitter. That justifies it a hundred times over.
- inactive, on 11/19/2008, -5/+5***** twitter.
- inactive, on 11/19/2008, -1/+1Sounds more like that having to be concise just makes it more difficult for them to baffle you with *****.
- liesforliars, on 11/19/2008, -1/+1hire an established twitter user to do it
- inactive, on 11/19/2008, -5/+4Twitter sucks my balls
- inactive, on 11/19/2008, -3/+2Oh my holy ***** dead christ. That article is the most ridiculous thing I've seen in a long time. Don't believe me? Just check out the opening sentence:
"Business leaders tell me they can't use Twitter (or its enterprise-strength counterparts) because they don't have enough space to capture deep thoughts and bright vision."
Can't you just see it now?
Random Employee #435: "I asked my boss if he saw my tweet and he was like WTF and I was like WHAT? and I was like WHAT! and he was like i don't get it and I was like you're so out of touch man. And that's when I realized that I hated hippies!" - inactive, on 11/19/2008, -2/+1I know it's hard for most of you to embrace a point of view which is contrary to ***** marketing.. but if you try, you might find something neat.
- connieLingus, on 11/19/2008, -5/+3i think twitter will organically grow into a useful business tool as the younger generation "figures out" how to best use the service, and as usual the older generation will scratch their collective heads and wonder why they didn't think of it first.
there was a time when corporate leaders thought email was a waste of time...so much for innovative thinking at the top. - MtheoryX, on 11/18/2008, -11/+6Yep, just like that ***** stupid idea of moving an outhouse to the indoors.
What dumbass came up with that idea, el-oh-el ?
