- duke, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10And, unlike G4, I'll probably watch this.
duke - LoadStar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Too bad the shows they used to cary on CNET TV are long gone, as are all of the hosts. I actually liked those. CNET Central, The New Edge, Cool Tech, and The Web... and hosts Sophie Formica, Richard Hart, Hari Sreenivasan, Daphne Brogdon, Desmond Crisis, Ryan Seacrest...
Ok, well I don't miss ALL of them, now that I think about it... :) - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Cnet was awesome back then. They used to brodcast their shows on USA on Sunday mornings, and until ZDTV came along, it was the only thing I watched.
Maybe they can partner with TWIT, Diggnation, and DLTV. They can fill 24 hours with programming with no repeats eaisly. - okhiker534, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Thats the truth! Call me a major nerd but when G4 was just TechTV I enjoyed it a lot more.
- brettshow, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Oh cool, that would be awsome if they do it right, been missing something like this since Tech TV left
- DeathSun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I remember watching all of those CNet shows on Sci-Fi Channel. I still think it's funny that Ryan Seacrest used to be a CNet host.
- davidv, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Hmm their daily podcast overview of the news is a pretty good show I'd say, maybe they'll take it to the TV screen next.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Please put the cranky geeks and dl.tv streams on this channel, CNET.
- JohnnySoftware, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I already saw that article. It is very short, offers few details, and I could not find confirmation of it on either CNET's or TiVo's web site. It will be interesting to hear what precisely they will be offering and on what terms. From that brief announcement, it is not clear.
- SupaDawg, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2CFH is already back in the states on G4. Thanks to the canadian CRTC in Canada that forced rogers to keep it alive in order to maintain it's license as a tech network. Comcast realized how big a deal the tech content was after CFH quickly became the top watched show on G4TechTV Canada (yup, still called G4TechTV here)
- sidebuster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I remember being really young (maybe 12 or 13) and waking up really early and seeing a CNET show. They were reviewing doom or something (maybe a sequel). That was the first and last time I ever seen a Cnet show. But for some reason I will never forget it (especially after only catching the end).
- Allanon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1A while back Tivo allowed users to subscribe to CNET video reviews which were uploaded to the Tivo box. Wonder if this was a test for their Video-On-Demand service?
- Amigaice, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Still in Canada and can be found at CFH Tracker dot Info.
- dcrisis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Long gone?
I've just been waiting for the right project. I learned a lot about making good tech media while I was with CNET, but trying to find a team who "get's it" and makes a show that's watchable while informative isn't easy. We had really smart people making those shows. All I had to do was know what I was talking about and since I love this stuff, it wasn't too tough. I'm glad you liked it, I miss it too!

(I've also posted my demo reel on my MySpace page if you're looking for more nostalgia http://www.myspace.com/dcrisis ) - llbbl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1TSS was a awesome show.
- DVRDude, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2The press release said second half of this year, though one news report I read said the TV portion would launch by the end of June.
- Phoenixfury, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3This is awesome news! Maybe this might be Leo's chance to bring Call For Help back to the states. If Cnet would bring Leo on board, that would be awesome!
- pr0t0, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Richard Hart was great!
I used to like CNet TV (remember the old "Try it, Buy it, Skip it" thing that Dvorak used to do?), but every story they do now seems like paid-for advertising. I deeply question whether or not they have any objectivity left. - LoadStar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0If you want a look back at the CNet TV shows of old, there's some good clips in this video, celebrating CNet's 10th anniversary last year: http://reviews.cnet.com/CNET_10/4660-10619_7-6250331.html?tag=pdtl
- dnatural18, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I wonder how this is going to compete with the many techy podcasts that are out there already. How are they going to pay for this? The whole reason I own a Tivo was to skip over the commercials. One of the main reasons I like downloading shows from the internet is that there aren't any commercials to skip! =)
- LostCluster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0SupaDawg? Where have you been? CFH was pulled from G4 at the first of the year...
- nigeltufnel, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0They're probably just reusing those "first look" videos, where some shlep with bad acne and a polo shirt in a tiny room with a CNet logo points out the memory card slot on a laptop.
- brettshow, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1is it online yet?
- Daniel591992, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1dude, don't say that. Doesn't Kevin still work for G4? :)
