- oakeybloke, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Top Worst" just sounds strange. "Least Noteable" or "Lowest Ranking" doesn't sound as oxymoronic, no?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I thought it was funny to read. The little blurbs were full of good smack about the products.
why are any of you bothered that they publish a worst 10 list? How is it any worse than publishing a best 10 list?
It was funny and the products all sounded like crap - as I don't any of them I can only imagine they have earned their ill-gained notoriety as junk. - Raian, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1They forgot to include themselves on the list--
- MoeB, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"What's that? I can't hear you? I just turned the thing on, and I can't hear you over the fan! Oh, wait--that's better. The battery just died."
LOL - kl9470spin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0LOL at the Dell w300, i almost baught one of those awhile back.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yeah, Top worst doesnt sound very good.
- davefaris, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0can someone explain to me what the heck is up with CNET's website, such that every story I try to read from there is so badly formatted to become illegible?
- WiseWeasel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This was a good review, and I laughed at a couple of them. I can personally attest to the irock! 930's weaknesses. Had to laugh at the waterproof ipod case and toshiba satellite reviews... Also agree that they chose a terrible headline for their article. Should have been "10 Worst Products of 2005", omitting the word "top".
- RogueJediX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0CNET. I hate them. Apart from the fact that they bastardized tvtome (rest in peace) and numerous other sites, their articles suck, this one being no different. It looks like it's been written by a 12-year old.
- NathanLoehlein, on 07/27/2009, -0/+0If these are the worst products, why did they all receive between 3.5 and 4.2 ratings? shouldn't they be getting 1s? Anyone else find that they put "none of these received above a 4.0," and then the laptop got a 4.2?
- Venky80, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0toshiba comment was pretty funny
- seriypshick, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I had that Toshiba laptop. I have to say: they are absolutely right. Not only dos the laptop have poor batery life it also has hinges that are very easy to break.
- mattv, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Nice. I'm getting sick of all these best-of lists at this point anyway.
- nfg05, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Haha I'm loving the sarcasm in this article. Funny read.
- iFanboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Third on the Toshiba comment.
- Bigbro69, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yeah, the Toshiba comment was hillarious. :P
- Pxtl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It's useless, has a 4 day battery life, and is huge... but I don't care. I want the fossil wrist pda.
- chosenone-, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Funniest c|net article I've ever read :D
- twinspop, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0So given the reviews, is CNET's ratings scheme "on a scale of 3-10?" How bad does a product have to be to get a 2? A 1?
- PrezKennedy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"So given the reviews, is CNET's ratings scheme "on a scale of 3-10?" How bad does a product have to be to get a 2? A 1?"
I was going to ask the same thing? Does it have to fall apart in your hands while you're using it or something? - mancat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Why isn't windows on that list? Or Vista?"
You might notice that every item on the list is a tangible product. - Buddybot111, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I personanly enjoyed the underwater ipod case:
"We couldn't really listen to or control the iPod, but it was dry as a desert. Yep." - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0tee hee. roaf.
- joelmole, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Why isn't windows on that list? Or Vista?"
Were there any Windows releases in 2005? Has Vista been released yet? There's your answer.
P.S. I don't consider Windows XP x64 to be a major release, though it does kinda suck in that device driver support is pretty rare, and it breaks a lot of apps. - bignate, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0quote Why isn't windows on that list? Or Vista?
wow. -5 points for originality. - Meowmix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0hah, I can attest to the Toshiba's noise. A kid in my British Lit class has one and I can hear it clear across the room. >_
- uthguy9, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Reading the sarcasm on item 10 Toshiba Satellite M35X-S163 is great.
- andreizilla, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0C-Nets website is under control by a green crystaline structure.
- x2dx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Digg Effect to CNET
- Eyot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0haha i love the iPod case, "We couldn't really listen to or control the iPod, but it was dry as a desert. Yep."
- clevershark, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I used to check out CNET's news.com periodically to find out which technologies would be complete dogs and never take off. Inevitably News.com would feature those same technologies as "the next big thing." They used to have some sort of a "reverse Midas touch" when it came to technology.
It's been years since I bothered visiting. - chhabrasubodh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0really that was good !! u guys acted like marketing people for them , we never new these existed anywhere
- grayBot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0top worst is badly good
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0They obviously have no idea what they're talking about if the Gizmondo did not make it onto the top 10, if not #1.
- Computer_Kid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I own a fossel PDA Watch, And I Love it!
- infra172, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Why isn't Cnet ever on the list?
- biter, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Hey, I have that Linksys print server. It works like a champ for me at least...
- DrCruel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Not familiar with NetGears, but I have a 12 year old cousin that begged me to buy her a VuGo.
It is, without a doubt, the most miserable piece of junk I have ever purchased.I feel bad for the kid - she's too ashamed to throw it away, and always apologizes to me for getting me to buy it every time the subject comes up. The thing does make for a fairly effective paperweight though. - Splendor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That Toshiba blurb was pretty darn funny. Dugg.
- culebra, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I love these articles.
- JPhilipson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0They should have included Netgears SC101 and Tiger's/Hasbro's VuGo
- BrandonMills, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Take CNet's opinion with a grain of salt, and perhaps some good drugs to make you think they're sane in the first place.
They put PSP, the handheld console that's managed to blow its entry into the markey, as the number one gadget to get.
No mention of the DS anywhere.
Yeah...PSP and its whole 2 games. :) With little to no development future for the handheld coming out. Sure, I might pick one up when they're in the bargain bin for emulators and hacking, but as a gaming platform, its Game Over. - error401, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The worst they can come up with is an MP3 player that only plays MP3s (uh...) and doesn't shuffle? Granted it probably sucks for other reasons too, but the ones they give make it sound like it does pretty much exactly what it's supposed to.
This wasn't very interesting. - saxmanlarry, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0These are just overall junk products. Some of them are meant to be low end. I would want a 10 worst products of the year list to say something more profound and make a statement rather than just listing crap.

- geek_xyu, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0What about xbox 360? Oh, I suppose it would have to be available to be the worst product of 2005..

What is Digg?
