- digitalgopher, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12direct link to advertising age article (seemed to be down earlier when I posted the story): http://adage.com/mediaworks/article?article_id=114243
- Shirk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8CSI: youtube
- clempka, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7It's weird that they wouldn't want the content on Google Video. Not only is it Google's own, but it's higher quality video.
- 31337Noob, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Who wants to watch 'anything' in low quality flash on Youtube? Screw the adds, I would pay a small amount each month to get all of the CBS content I wanted in HD. When will they figure it out?
- ihate2regist, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6yea but youtube has become a household name
- sachmanb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6coming soon: TiVo for YouTube -> downloads FLV files and removes Ads
- jtrost, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6"people still watch cbs...?"
Umm.. yeah. In fact it's the most watched network on television. If YouTube is going to strike this kind of deal with any company, it should be CBS for that very reason. Other channels will soon follow suit. - Pas3n7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Numb3rs FTW!
- Chicagoland, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3A lot of people watch CBS... I watch Jericho on CBS.
I would love to watch it on YouTUBE - thechristoph, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Um, me? I don't know what mutant service provider you have, but even my 8 megabit cable can't download a 60-minute HD program in just a couple of minutes. Youtube's format and quality are fine for casual watching and quick downloading.
- playerZero, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Very interesting but no deal has been "closed." Pardon my bad mood today but (yawn) another overstated headline on digg.
- bioskope, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i hate to say this, but series wise Fox has a definite advantage over CBS
I mean sure admitting to liking Prison Break puts your geekhood at stake because of the number of plotholes, but the fact is, its one exciting watch. And there are other shows too - wilhoitm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That's a super mutant ninjah geek!
- infinium, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1CBS's innertube is pretty decent in full screen. YouTube is not good at all in full screen.
I watch CBS's shown on innertube all the time (now that I dropped my DVR) I would go back to HD-rips if they degraded to YouTube quality. - TheOutdoors, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I agree that Innertube has pretty good video quality. I watched quite a few Jericho episodes online that I missed on TV and was pretty impressed.
Just a shameless plug, but I also have a video site at http://www.watchtheoutdoors.com/ for outdoor enthusiasts that offers high quality video. Check it out... - kursefour20, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1"Late Night with Conan O'Brian" on YouTube anytime of the day? Count me in
- m3mn0n, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Get a clue. Where does this link to? Advertising Age? No... contactmusic.com
- ChipMonkStyle, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0yay now everyone can watch small, pixelated tv shows in FLASH on YouTube!
ya i'll stick with usenet and my HD-rips thank you.
YouTube is good to watch homemade stuff from the common user, not movies and television shows. - kyrandian, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0oooh boy, now i can finally catch up on all the episodes of 'yes, dear' i missed!
No thanks.. i'll just stick to good stuff on youtube, like movies and old nickelodeon/MTV shows before those networks turned to total *****. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Ummm.. "Advertising Age"... talking about advertising.... IT MIGHT BE THE F'N SOURCE, A*HOLE!
God, I hate stupid people. *grrr* - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1CBS isn't the type of media average "YouTubers" like. They should have did a deal with Viacom for all their TV and Movie content. Then we could see some Chappelle Show, South Park, Daily Show and Colbert Report.
- stockjones, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Bring on the Flash Ads and stupid ideas to the YouTube
- TenebrousX, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Come on down!
- 5hop4orce, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1When is the federal government going to break up Google? It was scary over a year ago.
- m3mn0n, on 10/12/2007, -13/+6yet another story posted on digg that does nothing but quote/paraphrase the actual source...
when will it ever end? - SamsLembas, on 10/12/2007, -12/+2People still watch tv......?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -12/+1Hey it's still kicking NBC's ass in the ratings. Even though i have no idea how.
- PeTeRZz, on 10/12/2007, -13/+1people still watch cbs...?
