- saintdesy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5First they need to get Joost to work at all. My entire experience with Joost has been an "unable to connect to server" message.
- Emachine, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Finally! Something to watch on Joost.
- schestowitz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Excellent. Since Joost is among the delivery service, GNU/Linux will probably get those CBS Shows as well. The Wal-mart and BBC service has been harshly criticised for the utterly stupid DRM requirements.
- JDZitro, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Well, first they need to release the Joost client for Linux.
*its in development according to the Joost site* - Mactard, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Joost still sucks.
- euro22, on 12/17/2008, -0/+2@saintdesy:
you need to get the latest beta version..
"Apologies to all - but we've got a new Joost version 0.9.2 ready for you
- as your old 0.9.1 is no longer working (with a very unfriendly error
message as well).
As you may know - we use SSL technology to protect your privacy. Once
every other year or so these certificates need to be renewed. That
moment came, for the first time in our existence, yesterday.
Unfortunately we did not realize that we had a copy hardwired into the
0.9.1 client by accident.
Hence this new 0.9.2 build." - wageslaven, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Will we get download on XBox Live Marketplace? Im really interested to know how MS is going to deliver the IPTV / DVR functionality this fall(?).
- str3ama, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1List:
CSI Miami
CSI NY
Fat Actress (Kirstie Alley *vomit*)
Showtime sporting events (not live)
Clips from Late Show with David Letterman
All of it will most likely just be streaming, it's odd but I thought they said Joost would have live tv, but it seems like its more like free video on demand. Currently (from what I've viewed on Joost), it has videos from National Geographic (full documentaries), Much Music (Canadian equivalent of MTV) special events/music videos, and a few mixes of some other travel type and small clip shows. - jtreach, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Is it me or did adiggolam just come running as soon as i typed the word spam.
- hokiefantony, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1anybody in that giving feeling today?...If you are and have a spare joost invite please send one my way...

thanks all - jtreach, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1A linux version of Joost will be great! Here's hoping it's as good as the windows one.
Unlucky to everyone who hasn't got a beta invite yet but please don't spam the comments with requests. I don't think anyone is going to be giving there invites out that easily. - SaintFatMan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I have 3 I'm not using.
- krikoko, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I always use http://www.lordoftv.com
There are 200 times better TV channels than at Joost. - Fizzle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Eh, I've been trying for a joost invite for so long I've given up.
- kidcodea, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2joost will fail. its very bad app.
- TheKorn2, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2As if Joost wasn't already completely irrelevant except for the 1.35 people who are beta testing it, now they'll have content nobody wants to watch!
Could they botch the launch of the service any more severely? - p0wl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Can I have an invite? :D
joost [at] p0wl [dot] org - Fizzle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1But, if you have pity - a.d.reid (at) gmail

If anyone is in that giving mood. - alienmeatsack, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I personally like Joost. You have to remember it's in beta, it's a wee baby right now. I can easily see major's like CBS, NBC, SCIFI, etc getting on board. And then you won't be able to live without it.
Right now, it needs polish, more content... but it's the premise that it works off that is in place that makes it important and an up and comer. - pepperjam, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Free content? Sounds like a reasonable opp.
- Brereton55, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Thanks for bringing it to Canada. Not.
- Morelia, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0The concept of traditional TV programming on the Internet isn't irrelevant at all. Within 10 years, that is how we will watch and have access to even more programs than cable or satellite is limited to (plus set your own viewing schedule). So far, Joost hasn't blown my skirt up. Maybe some day, I guess that is the point of limited-user testing.
- Morelia, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I signed up months ago to be one of the 1st Joost beta testers (and I am now indeed a user) ... and I was dismayed to discover that most of the best programming is restricted to US (or US and Canada) IP addresses only. The networks that are also showing content on the Web are doing the same. Sometimes I can use a proxy to bypass the IP sniffers for browser-based TV shows .. but it is a hassle. I hope they start to open these programs up to a wider community. Many Americans are expats living abroad. Plus most people here where I live prefer American TV over their own country's programming.
- myuu, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Could I pretty please have one? I'll try to make it worth your while! (Want to play with it on my aTV)
collin (at) cs.und.edu - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2I hope Murder, She Wrote is one of the shows. I love it so much :D
