- bjkrautk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10I voted TWiT for best podcast, but Digg did get my tech news vote.
- crawfishsoul, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Sorry to be a first reply whore but why waste your time or effort on an on-line poll which is inherently inaccurate by nature?
Let alone, allows multiple voting with cookies blocked.
Of course, I voted for Digg. Once. - BitSlash, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I wrote them in
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I cannot believe TWiT was not listed. Anyways, I wrote them in. Security Now,too.
- techbum, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Is it just me, or does it appear that you can vote more than once for the same category?
- liquidizer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Yes, looks like it. Highly scientific survey, then.
- GopherGod, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Did you notice on the Gossip section they didn't have perezhilton.com or thesuperficial.com.
I believe those are both rated tops in alexa. - lambmj, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Sure enough, the founder of MediaBistro was previously an editor at BusinessWeek. See the first bio under http://www.mediabistro.com/aboutus/.
- Pontificator, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Someone please tell me why GIGA-OM winds up on these lists lately? He's a good writer, but he's a speculator and silicon valley gossip blogger catering to the niche Silicon Valley startup crowd. How does he suddenly thrown up against the giants in the tech-news field?
Simply because he worked for Business 2.0?
What About Techdirt? What About DailyTech (Anandtech)? What About Ars Technica? What about Broadband Reports? Security Now? TWIT? Internet News? BetaNews? - rYno, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3i put in twit and diggnation for podcasts into their "tell us" form box.
- compu73rg33k, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Bahah
"The log file for database 'poll_app' is full. Back up the transaction log for the database to free up some log space."
We digg-effected business week! :) - SwordofKahless, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It seems the survey combines sites that produce content and news aggregation sites. Which should never appear in the same category. Lame.
- mecanabis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3dugg.
And with 300 votes, dig is sitting at about %90 popularity in the tech news category! - Blazeix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Of course, in the email category, gmail is the highest.
It's interesting, AOL email had 0.0% of the vote. ouch. - mecole21, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I wrote in Digg for general news, health news, & sports...
- lambmj, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Some of the selections are odd. Take MediaBistro, for example, under Jobs. That site seems a likely choice of people who work at BW but it isn't applicable to a general audience.
- kirkio, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Mind you, because of digg's popularity, at least 85% of the people voting in the poll probably came there through digg after the story was frontpaged.
- Kamaji, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5That page design is horrible. It isn't at all clear that the links on the right are to the poll questions... I thought those were chaff links to other parts of their site!
They should have put a damn header on that section, and made it more central! - jbert, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5You can add Diggnation. VOTE!
- FBMGriever, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Nice find. Digg is raping the Tech News category lol
Dugg. - noodlez, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5i voted Digg for every category.
i made up a good reason for each. - spikepeck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I would love to see the digg community put together a list like this.
- infiniti029, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6be sure to vote for DIGGNATION as Best Podcast!
- robertgoodwin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Nope... TWiT got my vote for best podcast.
- antdude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I think we broke the site:
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80040e14'
The log file for database 'poll_app' is full. Back up the transaction log for the database to free up some log space.
/polls/record.asp, line 188 - danglerman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2where the hell is TWiT?! That was fun...
- mhass, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1My prediction for 2008 is Digg.com will be listed as general news, not just tech news.
- unitedstatians, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What About techcrunch? What About extremetech?
- Pradsy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Thank you for participating.

-------------------------------
I was the 573 voter... voted for Digg - heresy, on 10/12/2007, -5/+6I voted Slashdot just because of the stupid self-importance on Digg.
- jzp-digg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1no multiply for social networking? lame.
- apocalizer, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3YouTube and Gmail are doing pretty damn good. Not like it's a surprise or anything though... hell, I can get free hosted E-mail through Gmail for my domain. I haven't seen anything better than that yet.
- lane.montgomery, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I wrote in Digg for some of the other news catagories as well.
- MyLinkedinPower, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I voted for Linkedin in social networking as well as in jobs. I'm also voted for Digg in news... Both work for me...
- Chaseb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I also voted TWIT as best tech pod cast, and DIGG as best news site of course.
- vdxc, on 09/29/2008, -3/+2Digg's doing pretty well, but I guess the other sites probebly haven't promoted it yet. If slashdot post a link I'll expect to see a change.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1for insightful, more useful comments I went with slashdot. It's like Cspan for tech news.
but nothing beats digg with regards to rate of update and the sheer number of articles posted daily. It's like headline news for tech (and other categories) news. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1The Best of Web Voting? How many voting sites are there on the Web?
Or maybe someone forgot to use hyphens... - jspath, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I'm not sure that I could, in good conscience, vote for Digg for tech news, as it doesn't really provide any content of its own.
Don't get me wrong, I love the site, but I prefer to vote for those sites actually producing news content. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0I voted for slashdot. It still is better than digg, swarmed by bunch of kid with a lot of time in their hands and nothing better than watching the screen to "digg" stories they don't know nothing about. Most stuff here on digg that is worth looking deeper into is coming from slashdot anyway. Mine is just a curious glance for a few minutes once or twice a week.
- apocalizer, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2Can't, not on the list yet.
