- dvogt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0You're exactly right... my biggest power consumer is my computer gear which is also on 24/7. After looking at the results for a while I switched from older dual-cpu boxes to lower power single cpu boxes and tried to consolidate server functionality. I Also started using vmware (great stuff by the way) to do virtual servers on the same hardware. I then switched out all my monitors for LCD's but it still adds up. I should have found a way to mount all the servers under the house to avoid the expense of cooling them (bit of a drag to crawl under the house to reboot a server I suppose).
