- DrCrankenstein, on 06/02/2008, -12/+104Oh man FINALLY! I hope these horrible criminals pay for their crimes.
... - zeabu, on 06/02/2008, -2/+68I almost missed the sarcasm.
- QuietDean, on 06/02/2008, -2/+43Hey, don't worry about the murders, the gang fights, the muggings, the pickpockets. Lets go after the seeders of pre-release albums!
Proud to be British? less every day. - palatka, on 06/02/2008, -2/+41I, for one, feel safer now.
- Pigeon, on 06/02/2008, -3/+29Yet when I or someone else calls about chavs fighting in the street or running around with ***** knives they don't give a *****.... I can't wait to leave this screwed up country.
- krets, on 06/02/2008, -1/+25You suck at Digg.
- zeabu, on 06/02/2008, -5/+26I'm still happy downloading... and seeding.
- Beatmiser, on 06/02/2008, -3/+24God Americans! Your government is taking over your personal freedoms! Isn't that just like you Yanks-
Wait...What? - petethepanda, on 06/02/2008, -4/+25Pirating stuff is, for lack of a better / less ridiculous sounding word, wrong, but trying to get away with arresting people is kind of absurd.
- cmoreland, on 06/02/2008, -4/+25I feel safer already knowing that these criminals are off the streets. It's good to know law enforcement has already bagged all the killers, rapists, druggies and bank robbers out there to have time to take care of these very dangerous cyber terrorists.
- c89a, on 06/02/2008, -0/+20i hate criminals, especially after i downloaded the first 3 seasons of prison break...
- centerblack, on 06/02/2008, -3/+21Just curious. If your neighbor had a 1980's Ferrari, and he magically made a copy of it for you, would you kick him out of your driveway?
- urraca, on 06/02/2008, -5/+22Long live the Hydra.
- johanm, on 06/02/2008, -10/+27noone? no ok i'll do it. ***** THE RIAA
- michaeltime, on 06/02/2008, -3/+19Profiting, maybe...but there are criminals with knives and guns running "rampant" around the UK. Police time should be prioritised...!
- foolishwolf, on 06/02/2008, -2/+14Wonderful, so these guys will be sitting in their jail cells and the rapist cellmate will get up and ask what they're in there for and their response -- "uh, I downloaded music"
Goddamn ridiculous.
***** THE RIAA - Toffeeapple, on 06/02/2008, -0/+11I rarely log in and digg much but this I feel warrants the effort, I too am happy and will now be sleeping sound in the knowledge that the British Police are out there catching real criminals, at last.
- ErikHarrison, on 06/02/2008, -1/+10up to one album?
"Did you upload 1 single album to the interwebs?"
"Yes, 1 ***** album" - DogBotherer, on 06/02/2008, -2/+11This is the UK, we're way ahead of you on the march back to 1984
- piesforyou, on 06/02/2008, -1/+10probably something along the lines of
"did you upload pre-release music?" - sup4141, on 06/02/2008, -1/+8Now thats just tomfoolery.
- aenima987, on 06/02/2008, -2/+8You can't stop the signal.
- 1iProd, on 06/02/2008, -3/+9Best of luck to them, long live file sharing!
- dislexicllama, on 06/02/2008, -3/+9Should've read "I'm still happy seeding... and downloading"
Priorities! :) - iJessicaRabbit, on 06/02/2008, -0/+6*Carmen Sandiego
- Stavrosian, on 06/02/2008, -1/+7It's Britain - ***** THE BPI
- championchap, on 06/02/2008, -0/+5That'd just add to the confusion.
A website created by a man in the UK, that was hosted in Amsterdam and you want them to go after those in the US?
That's 3 countries worth of legal crap to filter through. - raid517, on 06/02/2008, -3/+7Hanging is too good for them. Personally I think some good old fashioned disembowelment would be much more fitting.
I am of course referring to the dimwit ***** at the BPI. - Phillycat81, on 06/02/2008, -0/+4~ 6 down, millions and counting to go.
- Grjemo, on 06/02/2008, -0/+4I am scared. I'm on what. What if it gets shut down.
EDIT: In case this is taken to court, I'm not ACTUALLY on What.cd, ok? - katerpilar, on 06/02/2008, -1/+5oh man... what are the odds, i mean, what was the criteria they used to select the six... out of so many. Maybe i should start building a big fort in my house to protect myself.
- ErikHarrison, on 06/02/2008, -0/+4"Up to one single album"
yeah... try, try, again.... - byahman, on 06/02/2008, -4/+7I'm all for arresting these Brits if it keeps the Oink backlash from hitting the states
- aliguana, on 06/02/2008, -1/+4because your record company isn't a large donator to the Police Federation... or something. Money talks. The rest of us are just scum who, if knifed, probably asked for it.
- ErikHarrison, on 06/02/2008, -1/+4why because they aren't using IRC?
You elitest douche.
/sarcasm - noots, on 06/02/2008, -0/+3limewire user?
- psevium, on 06/02/2008, -0/+3Since when has country lines divided people who love to do the same thing? It's not like "those British guys" got arrested, it's people who share the same ideals as us (I think, im speaking on the part of someone pro-information sharing)
- Wasyu, on 06/02/2008, -1/+4British or American they deserve fair treatment as they're still human beings a miscarriage of justice is a miscarriage of justice no matter where it happens.
- fitriidayu, on 06/02/2008, -1/+4i wonder how finger prints and DNA would be used :-
its like catching a killer and then getting his IP address :- - inactive, on 06/02/2008, -2/+5 They really need to after the people using to many sheet of Toilet paper. I think Toilet paper should have throttlers put on them, then only so much will come off the roll. This will save Trees, and excess excrement being put into the sewer plants.
- Toffeeapple, on 06/02/2008, -0/+2damn! I always use this analogy, I thought I was being original, bugger!
:) - iRelinquish, on 06/02/2008, -0/+2oink himself was british?
- Mjeacoma, on 06/02/2008, -0/+2So no repercussions in the states? Isn't this where it is such a "crime"?
- Travelsonic, on 06/03/2008, -0/+2You talk about sloppy arguing and invoke the fallacy of relevance by invoking a attack on his age.
Grow up.
It's called punishment fitting the crime, and you don't have to lose all perception of reality to know it's important, contrary to what you already seem to believe. - Grjemo, on 06/02/2008, -0/+2Marilyn Manson reference?
- cmoreland, on 06/03/2008, -0/+2Man, it's the same thing as the medical/scientific research. Have they cured Cancer? No, but they have and continue to produce 'enhancing' products and continue to sink thousands if not millions into THAT research. Hell, they may even make some device to translate a damn dog bark before they cure cancer or something USEFUL.
It's like someone said up there, they are trying to prove a point by arresting these guys/gals, that's all. Scare tactics. They really could be doing something better. Software Piracy isn't going away, at least not anytime soon.
/doesn't even remember the last time he downloaded a torrent. - ritbitsly, on 06/04/2008, -0/+2I guess it wasn't evident that sarcasm was dripping from my tongue as i typed...
- mrBitch, on 06/04/2008, -0/+2Sorry, no - I missed that note of sarcasm. Anyway I dug you back up.
- amanoj, on 06/02/2008, -0/+2Anyone thinking its time to move to Sweden? Helsinki looks nice this time of year.
- championchap, on 06/02/2008, -0/+2Way ahead of you, just gave my buddy Lee a shout.
