- MrBabyMan, on 10/12/2007, -47/+187It's actually more like:
99 terrorists on the run from the law, 99 terrorist run
we take one down and pass it around...
120 terrorists on the run from the law - sobriquet, on 10/12/2007, -25/+130I think the best course of action would have been to just "disappear" him.
Confusion and uncertainty among his ranks, no martyr. - chris9902, on 10/12/2007, -40/+11599 terrorists on the run from the law, 99 terrorist run

98 terrorists on the run from the law - megaloid, on 10/12/2007, -20/+91The war is as evil as the men who plotted it, but at least one psychopath is no longer afflicting us.
Zarqawi wasn't an Iraqi nationalist. He wasn't a pan-Arab idealist. He wasn't even religious. He was a freebooting criminal who got his kicks by hurting people, like an Abu Nidal or Carlos the Jackal. Now he's dogmeat. - CriX, on 10/12/2007, -36/+83Stop it. Stop it you damn idealists. You'd be quite unhappy if Muslim fundamentalist triumph in Iraq so that another radical religious tyrannical government can come to power in the middle east. You don't like the religious conservatives in this country? Neither do I but they pale in comparison to the radicals of Islam. Just wait til improvised explosives start going off in our country. How proud will you be of or comments that America is so bad and the sentiment that America deserves to lose when someone close to gets their leg blown off from Islamic violence in the country?? Watch United 93. It's terrifying the conviction that these individuals have to destroy America. And they are not alone.
- yves, on 10/12/2007, -5/+33I can't understand why people who are glad for this are getting negative diggs.
That guy would gladly have killed any one of you people on this forum if he had the chance.
It's no different from finally catching a local serial killer and him being gunned down.
I say good riddance to a piece of ***** human being. - Joe091, on 10/12/2007, -11/+35A. You're an idiot.
B. If he would have been anything, it would have been CIA, not the FBI. - eclectro, on 10/12/2007, -7/+29So I guess because we blew him up instead of him blowing himself up with a bomb and taking out a bunch of innocent citizens, he doesn't get the 72 virgins deal.
Great job army! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22There are no web articles at the time of the posting. Chill dudes. It's breaking news, try turning on the TV.

- Egoist, on 10/12/2007, -14/+34@inkswamp: Bush's solution is going on right now, which is vastly more effective than any idea you've brought to the table thus far. It's easy to say, "Killing people is BAAAAD. It's the wrong answer" but without offering a brilliant idea that will solve the current situation, you do nothing but release hot air. The administration doesn't get to make decisions where one way = peace and the other = war. Many times the only choice is which option kills the fewest amount of people. That's the real world. That's how it works.
@sgbooth: No, an idealist is someone who believes that world peace is possible. An idealist is someone who believes that war under any circumstances is wrong, even when defending yourself. An idealist is one who can tell you how killing someone who attacked you is wrong, but can't offer a solution as how to solve the situation peacefully. To say ALL liberals are realists is like saying ALL white people are German. I'm sure some are, but the vast majority are idealists (e.g. communism is only possible from a like minded idealists who chose to ignore human nature). - tuna1, on 10/12/2007, -9/+28Are you wearing your tinhat?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -14/+32I like Kool-aid, too.
- tigertiger, on 10/12/2007, -8/+26Banning abortion, restricting the rights of homosexuals, trying to teach kids creationism in school like its a legitimate scientific theory, invading two countries on very shaky evidence in the last two years...oh, and Hitler was Christian of course.
Fundamentalists of any belief are dangerous, it's not just restricted to Muslims. And Muslims certainly aren't in control of the most powerful country in the world. - ddales, on 10/12/2007, -7/+24HELLO TARD!!! The Crusades, The Spanish Inquisition, The Salem Witch Trials, Wiping out American Indians almost completely, not in any specific order and off the top of my head. I'm certain there are a lot more!
- cadavreexquis, on 10/12/2007, -3/+19Wait a minute, I thought it was Saddam's removal that solved all of Iraq's problems.
- noGoodNamesLeft, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17All over the TV? Ha ha ha.... I live in the UK, and right at this minute both Sky News and BBC News 24 (the two free news channels) are showing reports about the England football team for the World Cup.
I thought it was because it was approaching the half-hour (sports normally go at the end of news bulletins), but it's past now, and they're still showing it. Not even a large-ish "newsflash" banner for the story, though I've just seen something about Terry Pratchett scroll past on the tiny "headlines" section at the bottom.... ooh, hang on *there* it is.... now it's gone again, and they're still on that conference. :-/
And I thought American news was supposed to be the one with screwed up priorities... - andyd273, on 10/12/2007, -7/+22I think that most of you that are saying that we should try a non violent way to deal with these sickos should really put your money where your mouth is.
Most of these terrorists have big bounties on their heads, so if you can capure them in a humain way, then we'll all be better off as a society and you'll be rich.
And if you fail, well, we'll still be a little better off as a society because we wont have to listen to your whining because you'll be dead.
These people dont believe in non violence, and when it comes to evil, restraint is not a virtue. - inkswamp, on 10/12/2007, -3/+17We won't catch bin Laden until Bush's approval ratings go under 25%.
- bariswheel, on 10/12/2007, -8/+22I had the misfortune of watching the Nick Berg video when this soulless armpit of humanity excuse of a man sawed Nick's head off with what looked like a fishing knife. I'm never the same since I hope he died a miserable painful death.
- sgbooth, on 10/12/2007, -17/+31"The problem with idealists is that they don't live in reality. They live in a world were a hug will solve all of our problems when at times a bullet is the only solution."
@Egoist: Thats funny, most people who consider themselves liberal these days call themselves realists. Isn't it the neo-cons that are idealist (and their whole idea of turning the middle east into a democracy)? Your statement blindly ignores that a huge percentage of the population supported Afghanistan (I did). Yet a small percentage didn't support Iraq (I didn't) because facts were being manipulated by idealists (one reason). And just because we disagreed, we somehow were instantly out to destroy America. I want to punch people who say this because it goes from a political argument to an attack on my character (and on my intelligence).
With that said, its a good thing Zarqawi is gone. My preference would have been to give him a sex change op though, then send him back to Saudi Arabia. Oh well. - eclectro, on 10/12/2007, -6/+20They moved in after we got there. The borders are very porous with Syria and they are all flocking to Iraq for a chance to kill out troops. Just a FYI

- Nesh, on 10/12/2007, -9/+22"It's still not Bin Laden, the person where there for to BEGIN WITH."
We went to Iraq to capture Bin Laden? News to me. I thought it was because he "had" WMDs and was a threat to our freedom. And by "had" I mean: "didn't have" - megaloid, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14Strategically, it would be *much* better for everyone to subject OBL to a long public trial and then throw him in Supermax with Ramsi Yousef. Otherwise, he becomes a posthumous recruiting tool for fanatics.
- JakeMcMahon, on 10/12/2007, -5/+17Al-Zarqawi was a piece of ***** and deserved it. Nick Berg did nothing wrong.

That's just a few examples off the top of my head, there isnt a big list of ***** christians have started but you have to be crazy to think christians don't have fanatics. - chris9902, on 10/12/2007, -18/+29Bush can't put his own pants on, do you think he has the brains to do all that?

I read that it was really a conspiracy between space aliens and the Illuminati to steal our precious bodily fluids. This is confirmed by the fact that the World Trade Center was secretly renamed "the Reichstag". - blixel, on 10/12/2007, -6/+16I hope he died a miserable death.
Unfortunately the piece of human trash probably died in the blink of an eye in a moment of complete bliss. - chris9902, on 10/12/2007, -5/+14yes s/he does. But do you think s/he will really get it?
I remeber reading America was offering sheep for information since that's what people want. - Aidenag, on 10/12/2007, -7/+16"*****. Name one thing the Christians have started. And don't get political."
Ummmm lets see here the crusades, Support of the Nazi party during most of ww2, Burning people at the stake for belief in other religions.. Pat Robertson's mining ops, Or how about 90% of the hate crimes in America... the list is endless... half of histories wars have been fought in the name of a christian god....

I got 99 terrorists, but Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi ain't one. Hit me. - CornStarch, on 10/12/2007, -8/+17Kudos to the luck guy who turned him in, you deserve that 25 million.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -13/+22I think how it works is just dumb luck. Some Iraqi guy happens to spot the al-Zarqawi and decides to inform on him. The military then races to assess the quality of the information and the logistics of a strike.
On a side note, in all this live breaking TV news reporting, an analyst gave away some obviously classified information. Apparently, the military was tracking and getting ready to target al-Zarqawi with a Predator drone sometime last year, but al-Zarqawi managed to escape when the drone was switching to it's high resolution lens. The switching of the lens takes a minute or so, and in that time the drone is essentially blind. It was during the blind time that they had previously lost track of al-Zarqawi. That aspect of the Predator drone's capabilities is highly classified. Oops! - themacx, on 10/12/2007, -5/+14yeah, besides Digg use a TV.. or that crazy invention the radio.

Most religious groups (save possibly Jains) have had some role in some crazy ***** or other...still glad this guy bought it. Unfortunately, he was one of possibly many such figures who might move from obscurity to figurehead. Hopefully this will stem the tide of the absurd resistance. - Egoist, on 10/12/2007, -30/+39@inkswap, yet you still don't offer your own "nuanced" solution. The problem with idealists is that they don't live in reality. They live in a world were a hug will solve all of our problems when at times a bullet is the only solution.
- hammerattack, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10The news isn't that Zarqawi is dead. The REAL news is that Zarqawi and seven of his to aides are dead, as well as their spiritual leader. This is a wholesale decapitation of Al Qaeda in Iraq. What we'll see next is a lot of unrestrained violence during a week or two, followed by a serious dip while the insurgency reorganizes. During that period, pressure must be kept up on insurgents to prevent it from successfully doing so.
Now this part is funny: I'm watching live footage coming from the strike site where the house is completely demolished. There are Iraqi's (most likely sympathetic to Zarqawi) bringing childrens clothing and toys to the site, laying them on the rubble in full view of the cameras, then telling the cameras that the US bombed children. The idiots behind the cameras then film them holding up baby shoes, and filming nice clean children's clothing laying on top of the rubble. So the news in the Arab world is going to play like this: "Zarqawi a martyr, American's bomb babies." - ddales, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11Let's not forget the entire Ireland thing.
