- iloveazngurlzs, on 02/15/2008, -0/+18Who sits at McDonalds and surfs the web or writes a term paper.
I mean, if you wanna get jacked or something, than yea go for it - Chicken, on 02/15/2008, -1/+17Well then I can say who wants to sit at starbucks with their apple laptops pretending to write a paper while looking sophisticated with your thick framed glasses?
- TobyDumb, on 02/15/2008, -0/+13Yay, another great reason to eat a bunch of *****
- colonels1020, on 02/15/2008, -1/+13You have to pay for WiFi?
- sleepwalkers, on 02/15/2008, -0/+10Quite a few people, actually.
- birdly, on 02/15/2008, -1/+10Boingo has never been the same since Oingo left the band.
- buttle, on 02/15/2008, -1/+9if you go to any coffee shop other then starbucks and you can enjoy free wifi for as long as you'd like.
- tringtring, on 02/15/2008, -1/+8So we are gonna get WiFry from now on!
- Velnich, on 02/15/2008, -1/+7Refering to McDonald's as a restaurant just sounds weird.
- Marfanity, on 02/15/2008, -0/+6Last time I checked, WiFi at (my local) McDonalds was already free for everyone.
- NYGiantsNYYanks, on 02/15/2008, -0/+5Maybe at your house or in a library.
- Jenadae, on 02/15/2008, -0/+3Starbucks is already going to be offering free Wifi for the first 2hrs each day.
- Fourbin, on 02/15/2008, -1/+4Hm... where should I sit and do my work? In McDonald's with the smell of low grade ground meat, nasty plastic tables and bathroom tiled floors or Starbucks with their big comfy chairs, hip and trendy music and overpriced lattes?
- Zera, on 02/15/2008, -1/+4What? There are McDonalds that charge for WiFi? It's always been free here in the Midwest.... Heck, it was even free here before Wifi existed, one of our campus locations even has free ethernet jacks at half the tables....
- inactive, on 02/15/2008, -0/+3Little known fact: all McDonald's are equipped with free WiFi access for your Nintendo DS.
- jimofLakewood, on 02/15/2008, -0/+3All 10 of them are jumping for joy!
- t3soro, on 02/15/2008, -1/+4This is why I love free enterprise :)
- jimofLakewood, on 02/15/2008, -0/+3Dude... Wake Up! It's 1984!!!
- inactive, on 02/15/2008, -0/+2Without Apple users Starbucks will be out of business.
- Slade605, on 02/15/2008, -0/+2I actually do Tech support for McDonald's and this is surprising because most stores are preconfigured for free WiFi also you must realize that like 70% of the store are based on an owner of the franchise and there is not much they must maintain inorder to keep that contract.
- Ohimesama, on 02/15/2008, -0/+2Starbucks is getting free wi-fi in.. March I think. I can't remember but it was on our "Barista Need to Know" last week.
Just one more reason I love working for Starbucks. - jimofLakewood, on 02/15/2008, -0/+2Your McDonalds is abnormal. (Is a large festering grease monster normal in the first place?)
- inactive, on 02/15/2008, -0/+2I can haz cheezburger with my goatse?
- Herolint, on 02/15/2008, -0/+2Dear McDonalds, While I appreciate your attempt to draw customers by offering WiFi, I must say you are completely missing the boat. All you have to do to draw more customers is serve your breakfast menu all day long because your lunch and dinner menu sucks.
- troye, on 02/15/2008, -0/+2how can you say cheezburger and goatse in the same sentence?
- inactive, on 02/15/2008, -0/+2Its free in the UK
- Herolint, on 02/15/2008, -0/+2But how much use can one really get from the WiFi in the drive-thru? I mean nobody ever actually goes into a McDonalds, do they?
- inactive, on 02/15/2008, -0/+2Don't forget screaming kids throwing happy meal toys around vs. arrogant liberal arts majors writing haiku on their powerbooks.
I think I'd actually prefer McDonalds. - MacParrot, on 02/15/2008, -0/+1Surf and scoot?
- troye, on 02/15/2008, -0/+1Yup, boingo blows.
- troye, on 02/15/2008, -0/+1Boingo = robbery.
$5 a day or $21 a month (subscription, that is hard to cancel) for wifi that disconnects every 10 minutes, and it's slow. Boingo is in alot of cybercafes also.
Source: I've used it before as I had no other choices. - HolyJaw, on 02/15/2008, -0/+1All AT&T Enterprise customers will be able to use the Starbucks service on their already existing account @ no extra charge, as well.
- troye, on 02/15/2008, -0/+1... to Digg, ***** pathetic
- shakestheclown, on 02/15/2008, -3/+4I find it almost horrifying that McDonalds charges for hamburgers in some place. I mean, after all, they simply can't afford to have it free nationwide can they?
- inactive, on 02/15/2008, -0/+1Just another reason that we will probably never meet face to face.
- inactive, on 02/15/2008, -0/+1So basically McDonalds has free wifi if you're 14 or under.
- troye, on 02/15/2008, -0/+1Boingo = robbery.
$5 dollars for a day, or $21 dollars per month for Wi-Fi that disconnects every 10 minutes. No thanks.
AND yes I have tried and used their service because I had no choice. - funguyom, on 02/15/2008, -0/+1Now when will AT&T customers be able to use the WiFi at Boingo???
- jamesrdorn, on 02/15/2008, -0/+1Heads up, Wayport also runs AT&T's hotspots. so if you have AT&T Uverse or AT&T Yahoo DSL w/ at least 3.0mbit service, this comes free to you.
- thebass, on 02/15/2008, -0/+1In response, Starbucks started testing what could only be described as "Egg McMuffins" and "downscale" food products like Krispy Kreme doughnuts.
wow its like they reached right into their ass to pull out this information, turns out Starbucks didnt "start testing Egg McMuffins" but they DISCONTINUED them
http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/080131/earns_starbucks.htm ... - Zippo, on 02/15/2008, -0/+1There's a McDonald's here in Newfoundland, Canada that's been offering WiFi for any customer for at least two years now.
http://www.mcdonalds.com/wireless.html - aggemam, on 02/15/2008, -0/+1Every McDonald's in Denmark has free wifi access for all customers!
- inactive, on 02/15/2008, -2/+3in other news, Boingo customers are more likely to get a stroke now
- DjOverEZ, on 02/15/2008, -1/+2So now you can get fat while on their NAT.
- Antibland, on 02/15/2008, -0/+1Now I can simultaneously surf WebMD and read about the dangers of trans-fats as I'm actually ingesting them.
- computergod, on 02/15/2008, -0/+1I honestly can say that I've never seen anyone pull out a lappy at McDonalds. What I really want though, is wifi on the subway.
- liuite, on 02/15/2008, -0/+1boingo has $7/mo data plan for handheld devices....too bad it doesn't support N770 or I'd be all over this
- srodolff, on 02/15/2008, -0/+1The McDonald's in London offer wireless for free. I can't tell you how many times I left my hotel (who charges 15GBP per day) and walked to McDonalds to check my email.
- MacParrot, on 02/15/2008, -0/+1Surf further while eating a burger
WiFi with an order of fries - LANjackal, on 02/15/2008, -0/+1McDonalds is disgusting (except for the fries) and Starbucks is expensive. I rarely set foot in either anyway.
