- Shalaby, on 10/10/2007, -9/+26Xeni Jardin scares me
- RadiantBeing, on 10/10/2007, -10/+24Call me a Debbie Downer, but BoingBoing isn't nearly as good as it used to be.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -10/+19Boing Boing is full of self-promoters with an overwhelming self interest.
- schroeder, on 10/10/2007, -3/+11It's kinda boring and they are not yet comfortable in front of the camera but I'll wait to cast judgment until it's been out for a while. It's always good to see more video podcasts tho.
- TheWriteGuy, on 10/24/2007, -2/+9Cory -- Anti-DRM advocate but screeches so much about it that it turns the general public off to the important issue. Obsessed with Disneyland. Has terrible taste in contemporary science fiction.
Xeni -- Consistently obsessed with sex fetishes, especially if they have a technological twist.
I'd rather read more from David and Mark. In fact, I'd rather watch a podcast TV show starring just the two of them. Their tastes are more in tune with mine. But Cory and Xeni always hog the majority of entries at BB. - Narwaffle, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Considering that revision3 is a fully fledged professional production company and this is a podcast, that isn't a fair comparison.
- RuutAckses, on 10/24/2007, -4/+10BoingBoing used to be much better. Now it's, as others have said, blatant self promotion and product hawking. They all appear to have some agenda these days.
The discussion groups recently returned after Cory's last hissy fit had them removed and to be honest the site was better off without them. Now they have some aging school marm moderating, altering and deleting comments to fit whatever it is they are trying to sell or say and it destroys the feel of the site even more. There is no criticism allowed on the site at all, accounts are regularly banned for even questioning why a certain piece is run (bestiality in second life, an image of a squirrel ejaculating on the front page) and yet they run stories that appear to mock or question AT&T's closing of accounts for criticising them on line.
Even worse are the hoards of sycophants lining up to brown nose their way into the inner posting circle. Any dissent gets pounced upon by the usual "boing boing is free, if you don't like it, piss off" comment. Hardly a balanced mouthpiece for a site that claims to promote free speech and neutrality.
Disclosure: Link me to this highly successfull tv show in your mind. I once spoke on the phone to a guy involved with it and I want to take some of the credit. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -5/+10Wow, how awkward. I'm a boingboing fan, and unless they do something drastically different next time, I won't be tuning in.
Also, Xeni is a pretty handsome woman. - totorototoro, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7They are both kinda scary :((
- TheWriteGuy, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7Also forgot to add: Cory has mastered the art of back-handedly promoting himself, like: "Disclosure: I was an unpaid consultant on The IT Crowd."
- evillawngnome, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4COULD NOT AGREE MORE.
Caps for emphasis. - tehmoth, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5I loved how he only disclosed that after enthusiastically plugging the first season without disclosure.
- HotGore, on 10/10/2007, -6/+9Why doesn't the submitter just say podcast?

G-R-E-A-T. - evillawngnome, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4This is what i came in here to say. I stopped reading boingboing after being frustrated that there is no comment system. Xeni has posted things in the past that were totally inaccurate, and using the "contact" link to tell them about it is a dead end road. Rather than get all uptight about it, i just left.
- mmaf, on 10/10/2007, -4/+6If by handsome you mean "I have a ***** n balls," then yes i agree.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4'back handedly' promoting himself? He openly hawks his crappy books on BB. "hey, everyone! I almost won the Nebula!"
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4That's BoingBoing for you.
- CaptainRotundo, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4This is great now we can watch Cory refer to himself in the third person actually AT Disney World, and perhaps get to finally see Xeni participate in some bukkake.
- br0wn0ut, on 10/10/2007, -3/+5As much as I love BoingBoing, I wasn't nuts about the show. Here's the critique:
http://www.andiamnotlying.com/2007/boingboing-tv-n ... - vonskippy, on 10/10/2007, -5/+7Yawn, way to go taking a 30 second read and stretching it out into 3 boring (or is that boing) minutes of drivel. Glad to see the future is all about turning the masses into morons who can't read and have to be spoon fed artsey fartsey news via a video feed. I must say though, I really like that look Xeni......on Annie Lennox........in the 80's.
- hierophantus, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Dugg for theramin-playing robot. I'm not too hyped about the show overall, though. It was like, "Hey, here's some stuff from paleo-future. Here's a site about lists."
- crawf061, on 10/10/2007, -4/+5She looks like one of those avatars on the websites that try to talk to you...
what I'm talking about: http://www.sitepal.com/avatars/?source=gawava07&kw ... - whorelock, on 10/10/2007, -3/+4Why would people digg down inhaler for giving Doctorow props? Bunch of animals, I swear!
- nickiank, on 10/10/2007, -5/+6Meh. At least Xeni's not been promoting her oh-so-edgy sex industry friends so much of late. For a while I kept thinking somebody needed to punch her in the *****.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1They have comments, now. I have no idea how they handle critics, they must get them.
- tehmoth, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1she's toned down the goatse spotting too, amazingly enough.
- evillawngnome, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I think some folks have broken senses of humor. I imagine they actually agree with you.
- Willy99, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Gerald McBoing Boing's Symphony....
http://tesla.liketelevision.com/liketelevision/tun ... - inhaler, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Apparently I'm wrong for enjoying his work? My bad.... :D
- tehmoth, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2if xeni didn't exist who would bother to read violet blue?
- CapeKid, on 10/10/2007, -3/+3Here is the first episode:
http://tv.boingboing.net/2007/10/03/visions-of-the ... - RonAcierno, on 02/07/2008, -5/+5Wow, what an upset.
- garg, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2Well, the good news is that the show can only get better after this.
- christopheles, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Another scary thing: She's called "The World's Most Glamorous Geek" in the new issue of Geek Monthly.
- hundur, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Like when he says "I was lucky enough to do some small consulting on the show" in the first post (I could with a quick google search, please correct me if I'm wrong) about the show?
http://www.boingboing.net/2006/02/05/howto-downloa ... - RuutAckses, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1For further proof of the 'angle' of their comments section, check out what's being said about the video now: http://www.boingboing.net/2007/10/02/boing-boing-t ... as opposed to the general consensus of a 'free talking' discussion here.
Mmm mmm, lots of poopy noses today. - evillawngnome, on 10/10/2007, -4/+2After you get your rage meter maxed on Xeni's *****, hit http://www.xenisucks.com/ to vent. On one hand, it's kind of sad that someone would make a website devoted to ranting about ANOTHER website, but on the other, he's hitting the nail on the head.
- inhaler, on 10/10/2007, -15/+13Cory Doctorow is probably my favorite modern author as of late. Overclocked and Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom...both decent books. I'm looking forward to seeing what he says in video.
- Jerky1312, on 10/10/2007, -13/+10It's definitely not revision3 worthy. If this first glimpse into the daily segments is any indication of how future segments will be, it will not be something I check out. It looked like they spent more time on make up and lighting, than worrying about the content they were putting up.
- guydudeman, on 10/10/2007, -11/+5Pretty decent!
- rauz, on 10/10/2007, -14/+8Boing Boing can do no wrong.
- Drood, on 10/10/2007, -19/+13Yet another sign that Satan has truly made his kingdown on Earth. I really wish Cory and Xeni would just shut the ***** up and go away. They contribute nothing of use to the internet.
- br0wn0ut, on 10/10/2007, -8/+1Love the blog, not the show. Here's a crit: http://www.andiamnotlying.com/2007/boingboing-tv-n ...
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -11/+2This is grate!
