- en3r0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2you can just get on another screen name to see if they are on...
- slowspin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Absolutely does. Found 2 people who are blocking me, mostly because I'm a dick.
- DeVryGuy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2If someone blocks me, just leave it at that. I don't really care to talk to someone who doesnt want to talk to me.
- Agent_M, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Scam site. ***** doesn't even work. I temporarily changed my password to test it out and it listed people that I talk to regularly.
It's probably hoarding our emails. Good thing I don't use my MSN name for email anymore, so more spam isn't going to kill me. - tengutech, on 02/10/2008, -0/+1Its just a scam to get you to give up your MSN username and password. Just like BlockDelete at the moment. http://leefe.ratestheworld.com.au/2008/01/01/block ...
- evil-doer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1oh i see theres block and delete checks. well delete is as i say. i still wouldnt give some site my password tho.
- slurp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1um, the site isn't secure so you've probably just given away your passwords and access to your mail accounts
did no one not notice no secure icon - TeChGuRL19, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1you don't need to give your password if you're using the yahoo, aim, icq, etc.....
- tribalsun, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2That's just creepy. There is a reason you've been blocked. The fact that people use this site only reaffirms why they were blocked to begin with.
- Ir0n_mE, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I know for a fact this messes with people's msn because I have dumb people on my MSN that randomly spam me with messeges about this site.
- jilt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This isn't impressive at all. Despite what the uberhacker above said this website doesn't use their screen names to check. All of the services have little web scripts that do this and this site just uses them, I'm sure.
For AIM go to http://big.oscar.aol.com/SCRENNAME?on_url=http://www.aol.com/aim/gr/online.gif&off_url=http://www.aol.com/aim/gr/offline.gif substituting SCREENNAME of course and if the name is on you get a bright little AIM guy. If the screen name is offline or "invisible" then you get a faded AIM guy.
For Y! it's http://opi.yahoo.com/online?u=SCREENNAME&m=g&t=0
For ICQ it's http://web.icq.com/whitepages/online?icq=ICQUIN&img=5
Not sure about MSN's but I'm sure someone knows it.
No digg. - butlershouse, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1wow that link is not even HTTPS. anyone want to just send a password in plain text ? Let alone .... trust and believe ... they are not keeping the records.
- dj_sea2005, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1if you have to install it, ts a no go for me. i have friends on my list that spam me randomly offering services similar to this, and it is done automatically without you knowing. even if you uninstall it it still spams, the only way to stop it is to stop the running exe in task manager.
- vermin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Bad service, it couldn't even tell I was online on MSN, and the block thing doesn't work.
- striker1211, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Spam. Look at the pages. Any page that says "welcome to example.com" should set off flares in your mind. If u look at the status checkers on the bottom it says "Search engines also may name this checker of status, status checker, yahoo status checker" etc etc. Obviously just a google adsense-aimed site to get hits from idiots.
- tribalsun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0^^^ the above was a general statement, not directed at slowspin ^^^
- TeChGuRL19, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Intereting. But does it really work?
- evil-doer, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3this is stupid. if you want to see who has deleted you, you can find out right in msn. go to the options, privacy, "see who has added you to their contact list" button. that list there is everyone who still has you on their list, period. anyone else deleted you. its stupid to give your password out to some site like this. NO DIGG
- tribalsun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"tribal, shut the hell up."
@ madmax22e - Perfect example of why this shouldn't exist. - slowspin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0tribalsun: No insult taken. Even if you had meant it for me. :-)
- innternal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0perfect for stalkers
- sukotsu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Just what Ive always wanted an app to see how unpopular I am
- tudisco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It says I am offline! But I am on-line... I don't think it works very well.
- stanleyfresh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Man... this is just an annoying thing to make. Digg for another addition to StalkerWeb 2.0.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0so evil I like it
- pennywisdom2099, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0If you're on AIM you can see if someone has blocked you by simply making another screenname and adding them to your buddy list. Since that name isn't blocked you'll see if they're online or not. Of course if you start pestering them with that name it's sure to get blocked as well.
- wetelectric, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1not sure whether this is spam or a virus.... spam-virus. No digg.
- serra, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@ en3r0: That's a very good point.
- zabeans, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0On AIM, I put my block on, and then tested my screenname on this site. It says I'm offline but I'm obviously not. So it doesn't seem to work well for AIM.
- travisty, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Obsessive!
- Nerfdude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0oh, cmon. anybody who takes pleasure in annoying the hell out of people on AIM will tell you all you need to do is create a second account, load your buddy list to it, and link it to your regular account. then you can switch between them in the same buddylist window and check instantly.
uh, i mean, neat, everyone - romper, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Says I'm offline on ICQ and Yahoo, but I'm online.
- billizm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I just checked a friend on ICQ that IS online and this site said he was NOT online. Maybe its because you can choose to hide your online status to everyone not on your buddy list with ICQ?
- mooninite, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This won't work if you have your AIM settings to block anyone who is not on your buddy list.
- dbr_onix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0For MSN, theres a setting you need to toggle from the default before it'll work accuratly..
SOmething like "Only allow peopel on my contact list to see my online/ofline state", if thats OFF, it works, but it's normaly on, so it doesn't work...... Unless they've recoded it recently.. No idea about the other IM networks though
- Ben - guestplzz, on 09/20/2008, -0/+0this is for MSN people:
for all the people who said this doesn't work, it does. the only reason it doesn't work on some peoples msns is because those people probably have their privacy setting clicked that says,"Only people on my Allow List can see my status and send me messages."
i confirmed this. i checked my email when the privacy button was clicked, and even though i was online, it did say,"offline." but when i unclicked it, it showed me online. most people with msn have it checked off because it's automatically checked when you first get your messenger/email.
i hope i helped. :] - PimpMoDee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Rejoice online stalkers!
- oonix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+049 User(s) have Deleted/Not Added you
hehheheheh ;) - sgtkillmore, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0you can just get on another screen name to see if they are on...
that's what i was thinking... seems kinda useless and just another way to get spammed - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0it has some troubles. its showing me offline too... and i'm online.
- SLaYaH, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Keylogger?
- adml_shake, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Spy Buddy works good for this too on yahoo. Gives you all kinds of other info too ;)
- DefArmy05, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is another example of a easy to execute Internet site that is gaining some attention. Congrats to them for pulling it off.
- asuh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0what happened? It left the front page.
- nonokiaboy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0i dont care about my password.. heh its HOTMAIL! :P i just checked it, had about 16 people.. I then sent everyone an email like saying :
hi there,
no offence - but did you block me?
Im mick by the way.. just checkin out all the peeps on my list that havent added me or have blocked me.
Cya. - SniperX, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Yeah.. it's simple, it just uses THEIR screenname to see if you're online.. if you're on buddylist only (AIM) you will still appear offline, if someone is open to the public and then blocks you, then it will show, though i just open another instance of AIM and log on to an alternate SN (well I run 2 anyhow for various reasons so this isnt a problem).
It's not magic, but regardless it's handy because it puts AIM, YIM, MSN, ICQ checks all at your fingertips.
Digg++ - nonokiaboy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Then i got like bad returns from a few - A great way to get rid of old email accounts / users on your list - you're not sure about. Plus, after you delete the accounts from MSN, like the outbox in hotmail has a copy of their address saved - just in case!
- TeChGuRL19, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0gaim rather
- TeChGuRL19, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0wonder if it works if people are using trillian or giam..etc...
- asuh, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I've been using this website for over a year now, maybe longer. The main reason I use it is because sometimes I have friends who claim they're online yet I don't see them as being online so I verify their status with this website.
As far as my experience can tell, it has given very satisfactory results in trying to determine the online status of Internet chat buddies.
I wouldn't recommend using this website for anything other than tracking the online status of people on your buddy list and maybe anonymous e-mail. I'm definitely a fan! (obviously) -
