- Val451, on 07/03/2009, -8/+753I've heard of an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth, BUT a tooth for an eye??
- Necronomicana, on 07/03/2009, -4/+418So, does he go to the optometrist or dentist for a check up?
- shadowmanjack, on 07/03/2009, -2/+372I can't be the only one who thinks he looks like a James Bond villian.
- WordsnCollision, on 07/03/2009, -16/+195Looks like he CAN handle the tooth!
- Digglet69, on 07/03/2009, -11/+187If he watches porn with a girl named "candy" will he get a cavity?
- tnoy, on 07/03/2009, -0/+145The article tells you.
- maxxarn, on 07/03/2009, -4/+133Immediatly after he got the bandages removed, he asked them to remove the tooth again. Poor fella.
- joshmoney, on 07/03/2009, -0/+129Anything with sodium floreyed.
- Maccc, on 07/03/2009, -1/+123So this guy saw his wife for the first time? Here's hoping that went well.
- cabdirazzaq, on 07/03/2009, -6/+104Really? No jokes about the appearance of his wife? I was expecting more from digg, or perhaps less...
- Digglet69, on 07/03/2009, -5/+100Does he have a special toothpaste for his eye?
- cfuse, on 07/03/2009, -0/+86It's ok. She was wearing the three wolf moon shirt, just in case.
- MtheoryX, on 07/03/2009, -2/+86Holy *****!
Canines are also known as 'eye teeth':
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canine_tooth - Larssonk22, on 07/03/2009, -1/+82"'The doctors took the bandages off and it was like looking through water and then I saw this figure and it was her,' he said today."
It must have been pretty scary for her too, what if he didn't like her, like first date jitters lol. - Sublex, on 07/03/2009, -4/+84I ew-ed and aw-ed at the same time.
- Llanowar, on 07/03/2009, -1/+74Would be pretty cruel to finally see your wife after many years and go like "***** you're ugly!".
But I'm guessing that anything and anyone is beautiful if you haven't had any sight for over a decade. - Sornos, on 07/03/2009, -5/+75I thinking you have no idea what you're talking about.
- LargeStack, on 07/03/2009, -3/+69I'm always amazed by some of these procedures.
How do they even come up with solution like this?
Was it called the Mr Potato Head Experiment?
I can understand using grafted toes as thumbs, but a tooth in your eye. - LilJimmyNordin, on 07/03/2009, -1/+64As long as he brushes his eye after he looks at sugary foods, he should be okay.
- TheJimid, on 07/03/2009, -5/+64So I guess the Hillbillies are just stuck being blind.
- joshmoney, on 07/03/2009, -2/+58At this point I don't think he can be too picky.
- GCarden, on 07/03/2009, -1/+55That was painful. Dugg.
- MikalYungHistri, on 07/03/2009, -2/+56No joshmoney, no.
- RobertWright, on 08/13/2009, -1/+51Amazing Story
- Marlorn, on 07/03/2009, -3/+48Man divorces wife after having a TOOTH implanted into eye
- initiallyM, on 07/03/2009, -0/+43I could totally see him shooting a laser out of that thing.
- tonmil, on 07/03/2009, -5/+47Does the tooth decay or develop plaque over time?
- alconebay, on 07/03/2009, -2/+43It's just a "123bucklemyshoe" troll comment. He's an idiot.
- KingGorilla, on 07/03/2009, -1/+41A tooth for an eye leaves everyone visible
- cfuse, on 07/03/2009, -1/+37If you want to sass Demoneye's wife, you go right ahead. Seriously, that thing looks like it shoots deathrays.
- iamacyborg, on 07/03/2009, -1/+37She married a blind guy, how do you think it went?
- inactive, on 07/03/2009, -0/+35Coincidence? I think not.
- Sornos, on 07/03/2009, -0/+35From what I can tell, the doctor used a tooth to anchor an artificial lens for damaged right eye. The tooth doesn't do anything aside from act as an anchor. They choose to do it this way because plastics may have been rejected.
Depending on what muscles survived, he probably can't focus on anything or even move his new eye around.
Still, it must be amazing to be able to see again. - cfuse, on 07/03/2009, -0/+35If this is in the news, imagine the scary ***** being done behind closed doors.
- UnpossibIe, on 07/03/2009, -1/+35Science. It works, bitches!
- MasterGrief, on 07/03/2009, -0/+33I loved the part where he said he saw a Smart Car and couldn't stop laughing because it looked like it was a regular car that had been chopped in half. I'd never want to lose my vision in any degree, of course, but it must be fascinating to gain partial sight after over a decade of total blindness.
- Latigoliath, on 07/03/2009, -2/+35Too elaborate.
- PeaTearGryphon, on 07/03/2009, -1/+33the bring?
- pickphlow, on 07/03/2009, -0/+32The best joke is FTA:
"The first car I saw when my sight was restored was a Smart car and I couldn't stop laughing - I'd never seen one before and I thought it had been chopped in half." - Sil369, on 07/03/2009, -1/+33he will use listerine as eye drops
- Namco, on 07/03/2009, -2/+33Now, I knew British dentistry was ***** up, but not THAT ***** up!
- dazparkour, on 07/03/2009, -0/+30Funny thing is, because of the way lenses work in your eyes - the picture is actually upside down in your brain and your brain flips it for you.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evolution_of_the_eye - davesaunders, on 07/03/2009, -3/+32There are some other studies, or one-off examples, which show that if sensory nerves start receiving input, the bring will figure it out eventually. I read about an opera singer who has a simple optical device implanted on her tongue. At first, nothing happened, but after a few weeks or months she could start to "see" the orchestra.
There's also an old NASA study where people were made to wear goggles that flipped everything upside down. After about a month, the brain started reprocessing the input and the subjects started to see everything "normally." - imikedaman, on 07/03/2009, -0/+29For anyone wondering, the procedure is called osteo-odonto-keratoprosthesis and was first performed in the 1960s:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osteo-Odonto-Keratopr ... - AriaNoelle, on 07/04/2009, -2/+30He's got a wife who loved him blind. Not many women (or men) will go for a blind partner missing an eye. He knows what he has in her. She's been there for him.
- ByteGuerilla, on 07/03/2009, -4/+32"It's just a "123bucklemyshoe" troll comment. He's an idiot."
You mispelled genius. He quite expertly trolled a bunch of folk with that comment. - DjOverEZ, on 07/03/2009, -2/+27What?
- inactive, on 07/03/2009, -1/+24If she turned out to be ugly, he would have tried to avoid hurting her feelings by lying through his teeth.
- monkeyrun, on 07/03/2009, -4/+27It's from dailymail .....
- m3arvk, on 07/03/2009, -0/+23Almost.
