The term is a reference to companies that will finally turn a profit for the year starting next Friday. Said companies move from the red (losing money) to the black (profit). - matt221984, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Any of these available in Canada?"
No, this is not Canada, think of this as the Americans "Boxing Day". - DEIx15x8, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This isn't complete. They are missing some things from CompUSA. http://www.bf2005.com/ and http://www.blackfridayads.com/ are more complete, have cleaner interfaces, better organized, and have scans of the ads. They also have had stuff up since October and have been posted here before. This looks like it was just copied from one of those sites.
- ScaredCrab, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Oh,and Best Buy calls it "Green Friday" because they usually make a million plus that day.
- foxhoundadmin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0kevin and alex really, really should do a pre-thanksgiving
podcast. this should be on diggnation while it's still news!
:( - Nation, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I do not get how this post to basically a messageboard is better then http://www.blackfridayads.com/ that has it broken down as category and all.
I see http://www.bfads.net/ as better then this too. - quiteinsurgence, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0http://digg.com/gaming/The_disposable_X-Box_360_-_Play_for_an_hour_and_then_trash.

Now, their charging $488 for the laptop and desktop.
Totally lame. - foxhoundadmin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0mesostinky, i totally agree.
- foxhoundadmin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"UPDATE!
Wal-Mart's website now allows you to preview the Black Friday Circular; the $398 HP Pavilion is actually a $632 HP Pavilion

I wonder how the rest of the "advertised" deals will turn out..."
ummm...i'm not telling you my zip code, but here it's STILL $398. stop trying to start a "panic," per se. i'm reporting your post as an off topic flame. :) - mesostinky, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Why would you camp out?
The one time I got their early people just showed up when the doors opened and rushed the store. The whole "line" concept got lost.
If I want one of those deals I'll just show up when the store opens and walk towards the door. The only way they'll stop me is if they have some sort of rope blocking off the whole line. Even then there is always the Exit door. Getting there hours early is for suckers. - foxhoundadmin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0in going back in this thread i see that deralaand makes a lot of sense too. i agree with you as well. i wonder how much they'll make in interest...
- kearns, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0who wants to go dumpster diving Friday night/ Saturday morning? (In San Francisco)
- cpu0builder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Best Buy eMachines Celeron Desktop w/ 17" Monitor - $149.99
(without rebate, WITHOUT REBATE SHIKKYN) - cpu0builder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0so what? i can overclock it and use evercool eatercooling $50.00
- cpu0builder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0watercooling not eatercooling
- Dan™, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The stores are going to be packed but I might try to get Mario Kart...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Nice forum tupac. The "official" Black Friday site for 2006 is http://www.blackfriday.info/
- EnCh4nt3r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0 blinkfink182: It's 2 years old. It's M5310 and it overheats for doing anything that is using more CPU... I just regret gettin it, that's all...
- cpu0builder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0im getting the AGP X700 for $99, the$149 PC (it has an AGP8X slot), the 512MB PC2700 ram for 33, and i have a gaming pc with an awesome video card for less than $300
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0You know, this PC better be $149 WITHOUT rebates, or it will ruin my whole shopping day. I cant pay more then $50 more, so if i get stung, then i'll feel screwed, because then i'll miss some of the other really good deals at other stores, that you can only get 5 min into the door, which is what i originally had planned.
Can anyone confirm this price? - ScaredCrab, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This will be my first Black Friday at Best Buy as an employee rather than a consumer. I have to be at work at 4:00 am the day after eating a ton of turkey, and work until 4:00 pm. Should I just stay up or risk feeling more groggy after getting a few hours sleep?
- ext237, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Lot of these sites are going down or not responding. Here's a list of the ones still good: http://lippeatt.com/personal/afa2005.asp

EnCh4nt3r: is your eMachine laptop less than a year old? I know most of their newer laptops tend to run hotter than other laptops, as long as your fans are running fine, you shouldn't have anything to worry about. - stinkee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Kudos to the buy-nothingers that slipped in the comments. For more on BUY NOTHING day, check out http://www.adbusters.org/metas/eco/bnd/ . I will happily be in my home avoiding the hoopla that is Ca$hma$.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Let me get this straight. Best Buy is going to have a PC, with a monitor, for $149, out the door, with no mail in rebates????????????????????????????
- Mark_H, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"IT IS HIGHLY IMMORAL TO PUBLISH THIS DATA that is designed to UNDERMINE the efforts of these companies. Retailers should go after those who leaked this confidential data."
How so? I am going to Staples, and maybe Radio Shack, because of these leaks. I wouldn't go to those places otherwise. This is bringing them business. I've never known companies to be pissed about that. - BrandenWill, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0People are going to be running me over for our 17.99 dvd player and the 5MP camera for 99.99. What fun I am going to have at work on friday.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'll be there at 2am then.
- molochi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@shikkyn: Maybe, but they'll all be gone by 5:05AM and if you don't camp out the night before you won't get through the doors before then. Good luck to you.
I will camp in the woods, I will camp in a FPS, I will NOT camp at a store. - officerdoofy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"So I'm wondering... If I go to Best Buy today and buy that eMachine at $500, and then go there on Black Friday to have them price match, will they?"
No, they won't price match it. Each store gets a limited supply to sell at this price and when they are out... they are out. - shadowgate, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Nice one G!
- jd230, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0My GF doesn't want to shop on Black Friday. I guess she'll have to sit at home while I fight in the stores. I know she wants that TiVo anyway.
- asplodzor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"the circuit city list is not complete unless nobody is interested in a laptop for $199 after instant saving *no rebates*"
Care to elaborate? - DisposableRob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Can't wait for Black Friday only because I know that means a whole slew of videos online of fat middle aged women trampling over each other to get the cheapest piece of crap they can get their hands on.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0A PC for $149, i mean, come on, that is the best deal i've ever seen on anything.
- EnCh4nt3r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Don't go for eMachines. I have a laptop and it SUCKS! Overheats and all those stuff... Don't know about the desktops tho
- mrkamil, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0pshaw, buy nothing day for me.
- Adamesq, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I wonder if there are any lawsuits out there over a dealer failing to do a price adjustment to match their Black Friday prices.
As for you guys in retail - Other than waking up early - it seems like great entertainment to watch everyone battling over items! - blinkfink182, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It is -- until we get caught in the battle.
- mxpxpx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0hey blink which store # you work at?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Does Canada have a busy shopping day like black friday?
