- to819, on 11/11/2008, -3/+25I really don't care what happens with torrents, but if the RIAA starts ***** with my usenet ***** is going to hit the fan.
- zerinS4, on 11/11/2008, -2/+19Give me giganews or give me death.
- Ookadoo, on 11/11/2008, -3/+20***** THE RISA!
- mockamonkey, on 11/11/2008, -1/+11Lol you think warez forums and rapidshare are the *****?
FTP and Usenet all the way bro - bleedingwalls, on 11/11/2008, -3/+13Alright men, we'll have to download twice as much to make up for this. It doesn't matter how much power they think they have, they're still a business, and they're powerless without money. ***** THE RIAA!
- Travelsonic, on 11/11/2008, -1/+9Yes, ***** the R.I.A.A. Exactly.
- Skab, on 11/11/2008, -1/+8copying is not stealing.
- to819, on 11/11/2008, -2/+8You're an idiot and really have no idea what you're talking about. Your rapidshare and "leet warez forums" are below using even public trackers.
- kien64, on 11/11/2008, -0/+5props to Reinhardt Buys. Buy that guy a beer!
- dacheetah, on 11/11/2008, -0/+5RTFA:
"South Africa ’s answer to the RIAA" ... "the Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA)"
They are talking about a South African equivalent of the RIAA. - Travelsonic, on 11/11/2008, -1/+5bogels: No it isn't. Having a work go well past 100 years before ever re-entering or entering the public domain when it should have decades ago is not fair. Letting corporations call the shots when the little guys have no say is not fair. The law is not what it should be.
- inactive, on 11/11/2008, -1/+5The RIAA is going to ask for a government bailout and will probably get one since every swinging dick out there is getting one right now with the exception of the American Middle and Working classes.
- Devilboy666, on 11/11/2008, -0/+4Who would that be in this case
- hakz, on 11/11/2008, -2/+4***** THE RIAA AND ALL THEIR EQUIVALENTS!
- FLarsen, on 11/11/2008, -1/+3@bogels: But is the law always good or fair?
- Skab, on 11/11/2008, -1/+3and it was the basic foundation of the interwebs and all. they can limit the access to it, but they cant stop us from paying.
- EvilFerret, on 11/11/2008, -1/+2Agreed. Decided to get back into usenet a few months ago.... Sure it costs a few bucks for good providers, but when you're downloading at your max ISP speeds it's a different game all together. 10GB file? Pfft....maybe an hour to download. On torrents that would take at least 12hrs if you're lucky depending on "seeders". Torrents definitely have thier place, but when it comes down to large files (1GB+) usenet is the way to go. The only downside is the community, but thats because most people use torrents which in turn mean stronger community.
- mockamonkey, on 11/11/2008, -2/+3Usenet will not go down for a long time. Its much harder to target usenet users than it is torrent users for obvious reasons.
The fundamental difference is usenet is usually paid and encrypted. Its also not peer-to-peer. - paulclough, on 02/10/2009, -0/+1http://www.coachhangbagonline.net
New motto:
"Comcast, continuously less service---same price. Sign up now and get some free ideology " - Gndoab, on 11/11/2008, -0/+1"Furthermore, the actions of the sites’ host were unconstitutional. "
Unless the hosts were operated by the Government of South Africa (which is not true), then that is completely irrelevant. - kamisama, on 11/11/2008, -1/+2I share your sentiment.
- TomPhoolery, on 11/11/2008, -0/+1South Africa has a recording industry?
- EMFK, on 11/11/2008, -0/+0Dugg in support of NZB creators Newzbin.
- NTippie, on 11/11/2008, -2/+2Dear god... they're going after newsgroups. Now they've really crossed the line.
- mockamonkey, on 11/11/2008, -2/+2Are you retarded? Do you think usenet is some big secret that no one knows about? Its been around for a very long time and is very public. Its just that most people are too cheap to shell out the money to get good usenet access which makes the community smaller.
Your not part of an elite group or anything, so don't act like you are. - inactive, on 11/11/2008, -1/+1Exactly - if you think no one is watching ***** waffles or what cd because your in some private club that no one knows about you are an idiot
- inactive, on 11/11/2008, -3/+2In This Digg: Idiot kiddies discussing their "Private" trackers try to one-up eachother but are too stupid to realise their "Private" trackers are monitored. How do you think you got in? you scrub -_-
- keithloughnane, on 11/11/2008, -2/+1separate but equal traffic?
- nmanguy, on 11/11/2008, -5/+4Why do foreign countries care about the Recording Industry Association of AMERICA.? Or is it a typo on Maki's part...
- miteyMite, on 11/11/2008, -2/+0Yeah, Warez BB's and Rapidshare are kiddie stuff.
- pcnerd37, on 11/11/2008, -5/+2Let me introduce you to the first rule of Usenet: DONT TALK ABOUT USENET!!!!
- inactive, on 11/11/2008, -4/+1Good job you warned them - hey how about you just buy some dvds now and again instead of stealing?
- diggafrica, on 11/11/2008, -7/+2i duno why people bother with torrents.. Once you use warez forums & rapidshare.. torrents sound like stuff for kids
