- DJcrayon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+180I hope John Hodgeman and Bill Gates run into each other in the studio
- sishgupta, on 10/12/2007, -10/+117While I don't like MS I do like Bill Gates.
While I'll definitely be watching, its TDS and I watch it anyway. - antidentite, on 10/12/2007, -25/+109I pray for a blue screen of death during the episode.
- sockpuppets, on 10/12/2007, -16/+76I'm taking bets they rehash the Teen Beat photo. Digg it up if you're in, down if you're not. ->
- rasterbator, on 10/12/2007, -2/+62He is showing up because he can't trust Ballmer, and he wants to avoid having to do more damage control.
- kingkilr, on 10/12/2007, -4/+63OOOOH, Colbert is going to be jealous.
- Aeiri, on 10/12/2007, -8/+65Did you just start a post with "and"?
- primehifi, on 10/12/2007, -9/+46Knowing how good Stewart is with guests, in terms of bringing out their own humility on a level that allows them to laugh at themselves without feeling embarrassed and know how big of a nerd Gates is; this should be great.
- SniperX, on 10/12/2007, -4/+39it's good intelligent humor.....you wouldn't get it.
- MioTheGreat, on 10/12/2007, -3/+27VC-What?
I have no idea what this "VCR" you speak of is.....Is it a type of DVR? - rubberpants, on 10/12/2007, -2/+24Start making the pies.
- sum4me, on 10/12/2007, -4/+20and Oh! they have to get the "PC Guy" to talk to Bill Gates on the show.
- QuantumLo0p, on 10/12/2007, -7/+23I would watch it to see Bill Gates. Even though I am a UNIX fan boy I like Gates a lot. It is the MS company that is mired in quality issues, marketing and so on. I have always believed there is a lot of talented individuals at MS. It is the result that I cannot accept.
I was hoping that Ballmer would have learned more from Gates but that does not appear to have happened. Oh well. MS has great marketing and will continue to do well. They could put a "made for windows" sticker on a cow turd and make money on it.
I only wish I had purchased stock in MS when they were a garage operation before they became HUGE. Humph. - bryxal, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16Hummm i think you young punks might be forgetting Windows 98's launch.... Back in the day we had BSODs on giant projectors

Although this is not the appropriate place to discuss, the interviews are supposed to be like that. It's all an act, or an amplified emulation of other reporters (basically Fox news). He's trying to point out that when other reporters do interviews nowadays, they ask really stupid questions. Some people find it funny, some don't. If you've seen some of his past interviews as the regular Colbert and not the actor Colbert, he is actually pretty mellow. - pushmouse, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12yah, Stewart is hard up for guest so he had to settle for the wealthiest man on the planet.
- rzurad, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11I love how Gates is evil and Jobs is a saint. Gates gives quite a bit of his fortune to charities, whereas Jobs gives away jack-*****.
- gcnaddict, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13"That doesn't make any sense at all!"
Bill had problems during some earlier meetups with talk show hosts such as the media center screwup at CES one or two years ago when Conan O'brien was hosting. (edit: like what jamesrdorn said below me. D'oh!) - drethedog, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Got to get the Good ol' Quasar VCR ready to REC.....
- mdollarsign, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12I'm guessing you have never used windows or you are 12.
- drewolanoff, on 06/10/2008, -3/+12THIS i have to see.
- DeathChill, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11I'd have to agree. I have never experienced a system crash while using Windows XP and have only occasionally has a few application crashes, none of which were Microsoft's applications. However, my Mac seems to ocassionally have Safari crash for no apparent reason. I'm not being a Windows zealot because I love Mac OS X as it's far superior to Windows in all of the aspects that I use it for, but I hate Mac/Linux/UNIX zealots who think that Windows doesn't work and just happens to be the top dog still for no reason. Yes, Windows had problems, and now most of those problems are fixed. Windows would not last as the top dog in a world where its products were THAT bad, e.g. Firefox is gaining momentum on IE because of IE's problems.
- DarkDakota, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8John Hodgman HAS GOT TO DO A BIT!!!!!!!!
- LeeVal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8for UK, Channel More4 tuesday 30th 8:30pm to 9:00pm

I totally agree with you. When Colbert interviews people, it's like he's still trying to make the entire interview a comedy bit, which kind of defeats the purpose of having such very interesting and brilliant guests on his show in the first place. He might just as well scratch the interview segment and do more of his own material. - ubuwalker31, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10I wanna see bill gates vs. one of the reporters in an "im a mac" and "im a pc" skit
- playerslight, on 10/12/2007, -6/+13Watching his Saginaw Spirit getting crushed by the Oshawa Generals. :P
- D3koy, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9Good he is on Daily Show, on Colbert they rarely get to talk about what they want to, just about terrorism and Bush...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9yeah, bill gates is never uncomfortable to watch.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I totally agree with you. Have you ever seen the clip where Gates is talking to an older guy from IBM, and they mention the ctrl-alt-del sequence? The IBM guy says, "I invented it...but Bill made it popular." Gates looked so pissed but the audience busted out laughing.
http://www.devilducky.com/media/28888/ for posterity. - vhold, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Will they talk more about Vista or the charity work?
- wildkarde, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Statistics show that people between the ages of 18 and 35 watch the show.
Makes sense why they would want to advertise there. - MurderMystery, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I'm a grammar commie. Dugg down you fascist pig!!! >:{o
- Dujenwook, on 10/12/2007, -8/+14I like Colbert, I think his shtick is funny. That said, I really don't care for the way he interviews people. I find he interrupts them far too much, and doesn't really let them get their point across.
- NanoStuff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I thought Vista was already launched. Oh right, that's just on the internet.
- crazybrit, on 10/12/2007, -11/+16That doesn't make any sense at all!
- nbritz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Ha ha. I hope this will be as funny as when Bill couldn't get Windows Media Center to work and CES 2005. He was on stage with Conan O'brien and he was trying to show a photo slide show but never get the thing too work. Conan just kept making hilarious jokes. If you haven't see it heres the link..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j7EEbokKLHI - MikeCerm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6I wonder if Bill knows that Jon Stewart is a Mac fanboy. (Not that Jon Stewart knows anything about technology.)
- Quix, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5The Bill + Conan clip was definitely one of the most painful moments of videotaped history. Maybe Bill can get a little personality coaching before The Daily Show.
Or perhaps a personality implant. - grayapple, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4We usually get a compressed version of the show.
How I miss the days of a normal import, with a blurred out BUG. - Nick22, on 10/12/2007, -3/+73 days?! Thats tommara! We better get going!
- triskaid, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Nut up Gates, I want to see you on the Colbert Report
- diotro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Believe it or not, Steve Jobs was checking out the Daily Show studio the other day.
How I know that? I'd show you all a picture of him with my father in the crew cafeteria, but you'll accuse a photoshop job.
Funny thing is, Jon Stewart took the pic with my fathers phone.
There is a bigger story behind it.
Ah, f#$% it, check it out. http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q118/diotro/media1.jpg - Elranzer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3"the... the NT Login screen. What did you *think* I meant, Bill?"
- pingveno, on 10/12/2007, -7/+10Dugg down for grammar that hurts my soul. (Yes, I know, I'm a Grammar Nazi.)
- thatrez, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I wonder if Steve Jobs will be on the colbert report the same night.
- jrbrewin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3it can all be explained away by the 'one excuse fits all' used by many a fanboy.
"It was still beta, you ***** idiots, do you not know what beta means?"
:P - OsiVert, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Or a Microsoft optical mouse. I've been using the same one for god knows how long. It is rock solid.
