Bell Canada rep calls journalist "lemmings" on Facebook
dslreports.com — Bell Canada has hutzpah. Their spokesman updated his Facebook status after the recent turmoil over Bell throttling Canadian ISPs to say he's "realizing how little seperates most journalists from lemmings." Wow.

- kooze, on 03/29/2008, -0/+9This is just unbelievable. To actually publicly mock journalists for buying the lies of a PR hack on Facebook is ballsy in the extreme. Net neutrality advocates are going to have a field day with this!
If you would like to be Jason Laszlo's friend and see his past statuses, including the equally bold "throttle-licious", his profile is public: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=716869056
Enjoy!- kooze, on 03/29/2008, -0/+3Well, guess he clued in. His profile is now private again.
- macweirdo42, on 03/29/2008, -0/+4Oh, I think he got a raging clue.
- offspring06, on 03/29/2008, -0/+3I well its too late now. There are screen caps now.

- kentuckynaz, on 03/29/2008, -2/+1Damn ISPs
- alphacoder, on 03/29/2008, -1/+8What should worry most Canadians more is Bell Canada's privacy policy. Trust me, you'd be most surprised.
- herecomes, on 03/29/2008, -0/+2I don't know how to interpret this. Do they mean "lemmings" like the lemmings fraudulently portrayed in the debunked 1950's Disney documentary? Or do they just mean that journalists are a species of rodent?
- kooze, on 03/29/2008, -0/+9Here's one definition of a lemming: "a person who unthinkingly joins a mass movement". In the context of the press coverage of Bell over the past few days perhaps he's saying that journalist are suckers for believing his spin. Or perhaps he thinks they are blindly following activists. A quick review of the media coverage seems to show more of the former than the latter.

ADJECTIVE: 1. Not straightforward or candid; insincere or calculating: “an ambitious, disingenuous, philistine, and hypocritical operator, who … exemplified … the most disagreeable traits of his time” (David Cannadine). 2. Pretending to be unaware or unsophisticated; faux-naïf.

- Snoz, on 03/29/2008, -0/+11I hate Sympatico with a passion. They have horrible customer service, bad prices, and now throttling.
- grayfox, on 03/29/2008, -0/+6I started a discussion for a peaceful protest on dsl reports check it out people.
http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r20248665-Peaceful ... - MikeonTV, on 03/29/2008, -0/+6Stop throttling my connections then you jerk!
- radarbeam, on 03/29/2008, -0/+12Overall, Bell is probably THE worst company in Canada when it comes to customer service.
- num3thod, on 03/29/2008, -1/+6Too ***** true.
- loconet, on 03/30/2008, -0/+4Rogers is up there. I am still with them because of a plan I have that I cannot get anywhere else. For the past 2 years I have experienced a very odd phenomenon with their customer service. For some reason every single time (I kid you not) if there is a slight change in my account (eg. adding a phone, changing an option, etc) they somehow manage to screw it up. It usually ends up in them having to give me "good will" credit. It has gone from being annoying to a very interesting subject for me. I'm very interested, from a scientific point of view, in finding out how such a company can continue to function like this. It is shocking that they have reached such an appalling level of incompetence. Who exactly is managing this zoo? To tell you the truth, It seems like they don't care anymore. That is what a near monopoly can do to consumers.
- offspring06, on 03/29/2008, -2/+3What an *****.
- andrewkumar, on 03/30/2008, -2/+3They all throttle... Bell just got caught
- blinki, on 04/11/2008, -0/+1I think he's deleted his profile, it's no longer available, nor does it appear in search
