- techblogLAT, on 07/08/2008, -0/+157This is odd... I've been using Bank of America under both Safari and Firefox for a while now. Not sure why they never declared it official.
Funny, though, that they had an iPhone web app before official Firefox support. - mindsinker, on 07/09/2008, -1/+110been using boa + ff for years....no probs
- kraetos, on 07/08/2008, -12/+82Failing to support Firefox and Safari - which, combined, now comprise 25% of the U.S. browser market - just wreaks of laziness and lack of respect for customers. Standard's based code isn't hard to write.
What makes even less sense is when Firefox supported but Safari (or any other standards-compliant browser) isn't. For all intensive purposes, they're the same. Enough with the over-zealous browser sniffers, already. - Bobski, on 07/09/2008, -1/+60This story is asinine. I've been using Firefox to access BoA's website for years without a hitch.
WTF is the big deal? - mb3581, on 07/09/2008, -1/+54I got an email from BoA just this morning saying someone had fraudulently used my card. They were so helpful by giving me a link right there in my email to enter my account number, pin number, passcode, mother's maiden name, email address and password,etc... I was so grateful that they caught this and saved me a bunch of money and heartache. Good think I checked my spam folder, stupid gmail almost got me in a heap of trouble.
- mikesbaker, on 07/09/2008, -3/+37firefox has worked with BoA since v1. this article was a complete waste of internet space and to me is more about how safari blows.
- mikesbaker, on 07/09/2008, -8/+42no
- HigherLogic, on 07/09/2008, -0/+28Yeah, FF isn't displaying what it should.
This is what you see in FF3:

This is what you should be seeing:
http://img234.imageshack.us/img234/6762/operawinsa ... - ohhoe, on 07/09/2008, -0/+20Me too, and I've never run into any problems at all.
At least not with the website... BoA on the other hand... - staeiou, on 07/09/2008, -1/+20All you people asking why you were able to access their site using Firefox: up until now, Bank of America had not listed Firefox as one of their supported browsers. Being unsupported does not that they blocked Firefox, but rather that they didn't guarantee that every aspect of the site would work with Firefox. That means if you were having web issues and called them up, they would ask if you are running a supported browser and refuse to help you until you do. Not anymore.
- Onyxblaze, on 07/09/2008, -3/+21wow dude. intensive purposes. real classy there *cough* *cough* digg me down, if you will.
- soupyc, on 07/09/2008, -1/+17Yeah, you had me till 'all intensive purposes'.
- leamanc, on 07/09/2008, -1/+16No, you deserve a digg up. For those who don't get it, it's supposed to be "intents and purposes."
- inactive, on 07/09/2008, -0/+15That really sucks! I must be having completely opposite luck than you, because I checked my mail this morning and apparently a foreign prince needs to transfer money to the US, but because he's foreign (and a billionaire prince), the banks won't do it! I promptly gave him my bank and life details. I also dropped out of college because hey, I'm a millionaire now!
- Bobski, on 07/09/2008, -2/+13Every time I have a problem I call customer support and the situation is handled promptly, and with respect.
I've more than once had what I considered unfair charges reversed simply because I complained.
That is a sure way to keep customers. - cmorriss, on 07/09/2008, -2/+13Same here. Have never had any problem whatsoever while using any version of firefox. This article is retarded.
- Bobski, on 07/09/2008, -2/+13@dark: So does that mean I now get to experience BoA's website exactly the same way IE users do? Oooooohhh... I can't wait!
- BlueSkyfish, on 07/09/2008, -3/+14Its aligned left, uses table tags instead of div, and assumes we all use 800x600 monitors?
- ogre2112, on 07/09/2008, -0/+11How so? I've been using it for at least a year. Probably 2.
- DrMonkeyLove, on 07/09/2008, -0/+10*Sigh*
- daGUY, on 07/09/2008, -0/+9Why did they come out with an iPhone-optimized version of their site before they officially supported Firefox/Safari? iPhone is a much smaller platform.
On the other hand, I've been using accessing the site through Safari and Firefox for a while and have never had any problems. - mikesbaker, on 07/09/2008, -3/+11you left BOA because they don't offer support for one browser even though their online banking works with said browser? you have some serious free time on your hands to do that.
- ralphodog, on 07/09/2008, -4/+12I agree with you. I switched to them because they're supposedly the best American bank to use while out of the country; but I've been hit with tons of hidden charges and charged exchange rates that weren't even close to the market rate. As soon as I finish getting my refunds I'm leaving them.
- pcwdigger, on 07/09/2008, -1/+8I've been using BoA's Web site for the past two years with Firefox.. never ever had one problem...
- samard2002, on 07/09/2008, -1/+8You know what I find more odd? That Digg links the iPhone about twenty times a day, but Digg does not display properly in the iPhone browser. It has a bunch of garbage icons in the background. Is anyone at Digg aware of this?
- TheSwashbuckler, on 07/09/2008, -0/+7FF has worked with BoA's web site for me just fine.
- legendxx, on 07/09/2008, -0/+6*over head motion*
- inactive, on 07/08/2008, -6/+12God. About time. Where the hell has BoA been?
- gl77, on 07/09/2008, -0/+6i dont see what the issue is here, ive been using BoA and firefox for almost 3 years now, theres no problem for me. and there has been no problem since i have been using FF3 either. page loads fine for me, same as it always has.
- whiteguysamurai, on 07/09/2008, -2/+8How is that possible, I've been using firefox to check my bank of America account for well over two years.
Am i missing something? - MScrip, on 07/09/2008, -1/+6Been using Firefox with BOA for a year. All I do is check my balance and transfer. It's always worked.
- b3378x, on 07/09/2008, -0/+5I've also been using the BoA website on firefox for well over 2 years without any issues.
- hellogoodbye, on 07/09/2008, -0/+5It's hardly an iPhone web app. The first page (with links to login, etc) is designed for the iPhone, but the actual pages that are useful, like viewing account info, look terrible.
- Kronk42583, on 07/09/2008, -0/+4i've been a bank f america customer my whole life. i've never gotten hidden fees on anything. and i check my statements carefully. anyone have any examples?? or is it just that people love to complain about everything because its more fun to whine than to compliment.
- zeabu, on 07/09/2008, -0/+4ieTab, it's not built in.
- ThirdPrize, on 07/09/2008, -0/+4I just checked and *****-mongling-goat-*****-lead-poisoned-*****-cocker.com has been taken already. :(
- ginestony, on 07/09/2008, -1/+5Actually Wells Fargo also just updated their online payment system for loans to work with firefox. I couldn't believe I had to switch over to IE every time I needed to make a payment. You'd think that they would make it as easy as possible for you to give them money... go figure.
- jetskidude911, on 07/08/2008, -4/+8Wow, I'm kind of shocked that a big bank like that didn't already support Firefox. Kind of odd.
- inactive, on 07/09/2008, -1/+5It's not BoA's responsibility to straighten it out with the credit agencies, it's your dad's.
- HigherLogic, on 07/09/2008, -0/+4I've never had a problem using BoA with Opera :) And Firefox doesn't have 29% of the market, we just had an article last week about it finally hitting 19% of the market. The site you're using is inflated.
- Jedakiah, on 07/09/2008, -2/+5Firefox alone alone has 29% of the market.
http://www.w3counter.com/globalstats.php - diggimator, on 07/09/2008, -0/+3How do you get to the IE option?
- y2kh8r, on 07/08/2008, -3/+6BofA isn't the most web-savvy bank ever- their site was featured in a lot of news items due to its lack of security a while back.
- intoflatlines, on 07/09/2008, -2/+5I have been using Firefox with Bank of America online for a year or so with no problems..
- Caviarmy, on 07/09/2008, -2/+5"Mobile banking is not available in your state."
*****. - ArchAngel21x, on 07/09/2008, -1/+4I'm glad to know that since I just got a BoA credit card and pay my bills online.
- JackTheRipper87, on 07/09/2008, -2/+5Weird. I've been logging into my Bank of America account with Firefox for over a year now. Not a single problem with any of the features...
- inotocracy, on 07/09/2008, -2/+5Um.. I've been using online banking with BofA for a few years now, and I always use Firefox. What exactly wasn't working?
- HunterZ, on 07/09/2008, -0/+3Doesn't mean it wasn't as annoying as hell to read.
- itspuddingtime, on 07/09/2008, -0/+3This error always gives me the giggles, big time. Kinda like "could of."
