- Ardeet, on 02/09/2010, -3/+252Luckily I got an SMS from one of my instant messenger friends to tell me that his facebook wall had been updated with a tweet from one of my old myspace friends.
Otherwise, I probably would have missed the story. - CarStan, on 02/09/2010, -6/+180A man just knocked on my door and asked if i know a 'John Connor'. What's up with that?
- ousthouse, on 02/09/2010, -4/+145Lots of complaining being done for a free service....
- RoroCo, on 02/09/2010, -4/+94Is there anything Google is not getting into? I am waiting for gRussianBrides.
Still... This looks pretty cool. - BobDle, on 02/09/2010, -17/+91didn't they already roll this out - was called Google Wave?
- scanman20, on 02/09/2010, -1/+74He'll be back.
- gumballer, on 02/09/2010, -2/+66Big guy on a bike?
- benedictm, on 02/09/2010, -4/+67Breaking? So bored of this use of 'Breaking' on Digg. It makes it sound like its some critical story from the newsrooms of the 50's like there's been an earthquake, the Pope has been shot or something. Not Google releasing a new way to make Gmail more cluttered.
- TrevorBradley, on 02/09/2010, -0/+50I'm terrified of the possibility of Google Farmville.
- mediaphile, on 02/09/2010, -1/+48Last in, watch everyone else's mistakes, solve them, make it better, make it free.
I'm okay with that. - weeFred, on 02/09/2010, -0/+45I wouldn't worry about him.
- alivemanwalking, on 02/09/2010, -0/+38he arrived in a police car
- pauldavis, on 02/09/2010, -1/+33I wish there were a button we could push to show we agree with the comment without having to type it out....
- BossKey, on 02/09/2010, -3/+34Brides is already in beta. It's really annoying, you get tempted by a free bride but she watches everything you do in a creepy way, and keeps trying to sell you something related to what you're doing.
The good news is, you can also hire them em masse to plug what you're selling. - SpeedSteamBoat, on 02/09/2010, -1/+26What do you mean? You're not angry that Google would release a free communication service that you may or may not be interested in? Blasphemy!
- MisterDeerwood, on 02/09/2010, -1/+26I think I'm getting old. I'm becoming less interested with each new big idea in technology.
- Ardeet, on 02/09/2010, -1/+21It does look like it has been heavily influenced by Wave.
The emphasis on the social "what's happening with/to me?" and "what's happening around me?" seems a significant differentiating factor when compared to Wave. I also had the impression that Wave has greater emphasis on collaboration.
Perhaps Wave is going to be wearing more of a "business" hat? - EmitStop, on 02/10/2010, -0/+20Nah, it's just that each new big idea in technology is becoming less and less interesting.
- Manther, on 02/09/2010, -0/+17Well done sir.
- theundone, on 02/09/2010, -1/+17Thank you for your input.
- TheDudeDiggs, on 02/09/2010, -15/+31I'm a fan of anything that hurts Twitter. Twitter should die.
- MusicMagi, on 02/09/2010, -3/+18No. Wave is a business collaboration tool. It was never meant to be any type of social networking utility as far as I know
- hascat, on 02/09/2010, -5/+20too much information, too little time.
- Chooxo, on 02/09/2010, -0/+15I hope all that was geotagged and synced with your blogger.
- DivemasterDoug, on 02/09/2010, -2/+16So now my employer is going to block my gmail account just like the block Facebook and Twitter. ***** great!
- proverbs17, on 02/09/2010, -0/+14This looks cool. Besides I have been searching for a Facebook replacement since my mother-in-law got on facebook :(
- iheartbakon, on 02/10/2010, -0/+13Go with him if you want to live.
- Zarokima, on 02/10/2010, -0/+13Each new big idea is just version 1.2 of the last big idea.
- savinger, on 02/09/2010, -7/+19It seems Google has adopted Microsoft's business plan.
- musntSurfatWork, on 02/09/2010, -8/+20Buzz off.
- pauldavis, on 02/09/2010, -0/+12"I know that these services are trying to make our lives better. But I can't help but feel that this is just complicating everything." ---My Mother.
- stuartjmoore, on 02/09/2010, -0/+12http://www.google.com/contacts or http://www.google.com/contacts/ui/ContactManager?t ... or http://www.google.com/contacts/ui/ContactManager?t ...
- ousthouse, on 02/09/2010, -0/+11Google is trying to make a free service even better. What's there to complain about?
- ziffel, on 02/10/2010, -1/+12Because, unfortunately, complaining is free too.
- Nene89, on 02/09/2010, -0/+10Nene89 likes this.
- plaxx, on 02/09/2010, -2/+12Finally, an explanation as to why you couldn't use 'buzz' as a label in Gmail.
- emanaydin, on 02/09/2010, -1/+11but can your SMS run crysis?
- MattBD, on 02/09/2010, -1/+10Gmail was way behind most other webmail providers, though, and it still did OK. And Google were actually pretty late to the search party too, but it didn't stop them blowing virtually everyone else out of the water.
- dscan, on 02/09/2010, -2/+11Still waiting for Google Wave to go beta.....
- thatsmyaibo, on 02/09/2010, -6/+14Didn't they go social with...gmail?
- mrpunman, on 02/09/2010, -0/+8I'd suggest you should stock up on liquid Nitrogen, just in case
- Codeman917, on 02/10/2010, -0/+8YYYYYEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!
- xyberjax, on 02/10/2010, -0/+8Free service = charity.
This is a business venture, so listening to the target audience is more helpful than harmful I suspect. - MrBoog, on 02/10/2010, -0/+7Umm, yeah... I'm gonna have to go ahead and sort of disagree with you there.
- mydotcom, on 02/09/2010, -0/+7Hey, now that's an idea!
- IGottaFeeling, on 02/10/2010, -0/+7Sir, you might want to take a look at this. It looks like Google Wave has been replaced with a new social networking application!
Talk about a
*sunglasses on*
Buzz kill. - pauldavis, on 02/09/2010, -0/+6still in Preview, not Beta.
- Nathan187, on 02/09/2010, -1/+7Now I can sleep at night
- inactive, on 02/09/2010, -0/+6I just signed up for a twitter account today. I don't get it, I really don't. And I have a BS in CS. You have to be brain dead to use it.
- MusicMagi, on 02/09/2010, -7/+13perfect timing. Facebook is on its way out
