- cardoso, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3English is not my first language, I've some vocabulary issues. Could anyone explain me if that site is what "awesome" means? If so I can use it a lot. "So your little brother can download music from the internet? That's awesome". or "This CD-R stores 640MB of data? Awesone" or maybe "I know I lasted only 34 seconds, honey. It's awesome".
- h4lfl1ng, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I wana "invent" a new way to use RSS. And maybe add to my little php knowledge.
- rhizome, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Blogspam is so useful.
And yeah, a list of RSS sites is not very advanced. - rm999, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0missing:
automatically download all shows you like, tivo style - idarkiswordi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Personally, I'd very much like to see RSS get implemented into future OSes with things such as updates. Considering the amount of time it takes for M$ to not take any of your computers information, and return the results of the updates you need (haha), it would be much faster to have an application that downlaods an RSS feed of the available updates and cross references an XML file to see what updates you already have.
- krynsky, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I created a similar list last November that contains some of the same ones, but others he doesn't have. I'll need to combine his findings as I update mine. You can see it here:
http://www.krynsky.com/list-of-unique-rss-feeds/ - electronicmaji, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0the comics site is down :(
- javster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Best place to setup your feeds when there's video, mp3, photos involved in addition to news is at FeedRaider ( http://feedraider.com ).
- invisiblist, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0while all of these are true..............I think we can assume that if someone is on digg they are prolly aware of these. Gimme that ADVANCED list!
- leobaby, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I use rss feed to get deal sites into thunderbird. I can then just type what I'm looking for in the search box at the top right. Works great.
- motorbikematt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I can't believe this is on the front page, these 'awesome uses' are typical uses of RSS feeds.
I really hate to sound like a Fanboy here, but it must be said: One of the most awesome uses of RSS feeds I've ever seen on the Internet is actually right here at Digg. You can RSS feed the stories that you've commented upon, Dugg, or Submitted.
OR, you can generate a feed off any of those attributes for another user.
Now THAT is not just an awesome use of RSS, but unique and inventive.
Given that I don't see Digg on that list, I'm afraid that this doesn't get one from me. (not that you should care) - Haplo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I use Firefox to see the titles of RSS feeds (no extension required), see: http://johnbokma.com/firefox/rss-and-live-bookmarks.html
The article also explains how to make Firefox "see" the RSS feed(s) on your website (how to make the orange feed icon appear). - Zerocool82, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is so cool. I'm using Blam on Ubuntu to get my feeds. I've just had news. I'm glad I can get the word of the day.
