- leontes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9This could very well mark a real change in the casting dynamics. Naturally, I think, it's still important to meet a person face to face , to get a sense of their personality, whether they'd be reliable. This is far superior than just looking at a person's resume.
I would hope this becomes more standardized: youtube has rather cruddy quality, unfortunetly. Also, the population to view the indivudal on youtube is not necessarily correlated to the success of an individual in performance. Anyway, interesting potential for technology to change how a entrentched activity operates. - xrisnothing, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7When your agent tells you to post your auditions on youtube, it's time to give up your dreams of an illustrious career in the film industry. That, or get a new agent.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSrSVed39XA - TheWalkingDude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I could see it being useful for MTV's Real World and Road Rules - if nothing else, just to save space - I've heard their staff complain on TV about the massive amounts of audition tapes they receive.
"This is the true story, of seven YouTubers, picked to live in a mother's basement, surf the Internets together and have their lives taped, to find out what happens, when people stop being l33t, and start getting pwned. The Real World: In CyberSpace." - jonathantneal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3@leontes, are you suggesting that we'll eventually give up our Nielsen Republic for a YouTube Democracy?
- xrisnothing, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3A simple google of remo2012 reveals that it is indeed him.
A google of my name reveals that I got some angry blogger upset. Yay, someone posted a blog about me!

~mario - xrisnothing, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Oh and remo, you have other talents I'm sure. I really didn't mean to be such a jerk to you.
- leonwehttam, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Matt Weddle of Obadiah Parker is his name.
- katoved, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That cold cast video only has 500 views. I dont think actors or actresses are going to even know it exists. It doesnt really provide a service, its just a concept. Thier site needs to be way more involved.
- arcangelgabriel, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2"Your charming, attractive and delightfully imbecilic, this is know as star quality"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NT0LKMSSAW0 - zelig, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I can't imagine professional franchised talent agents getting involved in something this cheesy as a way to audition talent. If they think they have to wade through tons of amateur ***** NOW....
- Aeiri, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I can see the benefits to the studio, but this could be a bad thing...
Think about it, you're going to need a computer, internet access, a video camera, and the technical ability to capture and upload a video of yourself.
A poor person that might be a great aspiring actor would be pretty much screwed. - JeffreyLloyd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0He is real good! Wow!
- CanIGetAWitness, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1A good use of an available tool, but just one tool. Agree with leontes that it can't be if-so-facto when it comes to a popularity contest with youtube users.
- remo2012, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1Why isn't this dude famous?
