- OHGAlpha, on 11/18/2008, -6/+22but can it play crysis mobile?
- inactive, on 11/17/2008, -1/+16That looks pretty sweet. I may finally upgrade from my old ass Razr.
- deltron, on 11/18/2008, -1/+11Sooo... what carriers?
- Serphyas, on 11/18/2008, -0/+8OH GOD THE IPHONE IS GREAT I WANT STEVE JOBS INSIDE ME
- puzzud, on 11/18/2008, -0/+5eee phone
- ElRayQuieres, on 11/18/2008, -0/+5Yeah, I hate Asus and their lack of innovation. If only we more computer companies entering the smartphone market instead.
/s - roxgod666, on 11/18/2008, -0/+5I understand assuming, but assuming and then actually following that assumption to the point where you make a conclusion is unacceptable. I award you no points and may god have mercy on your soul.
- Jareth86, on 11/18/2008, -0/+5Say what you want about Windows Mobile. On my HTC touch, I can add custom mp3 ringtones, third party applications (including emulators), and browse the web, flash included, all without hacking or "jail breaking" anything. iPhone OSX may look beautiful, but until it can do any of this out of the box and you don't have to use AT&T to get it, I'm sticking with my windows phone.
- Dagreenman, on 11/18/2008, -1/+6Looks nice. hopefully 1. whatever carrier it has dosen't rape people with the data plans and 2. it has wifi. yes people want wifi. ARE YOU LISTENING RIM?!?!?!?!
- MasterQ, on 11/18/2008, -0/+4move to the US... AT&T is much more gentle when they rip you off
- hadak, on 11/18/2008, -0/+4That was always my problem with smartphones...they are too damn slow! Good to see they realize this. Great job Asus. Keep up the good work.
- AllHereTruth, on 11/18/2008, -0/+4'general assumption based on nothing' = fail
- nathanChoi, on 11/18/2008, -0/+3Uhh... what? The only thing the iPhone did much different was have a touchscreen... and I'd rather have buttons =D
- wonkavsn, on 11/18/2008, -0/+3Maybe
But it's competition that keeps companies like Apple on their toes and motivates them to be as innovative as they are. - RogerStrong, on 11/18/2008, -0/+3There was nothing "different" about a touchscreen. Plenty of touchscreen phones were out before it.
- Jareth86, on 11/18/2008, -0/+3*Oh yeah, and I can copy/paste. Amazing, I know.
- benologist, on 11/18/2008, -1/+3Ok we've put you down for a freaking break. The rest of us will have Flash.
... and the ability to create, buy and use apps without having to get a note from Apple saying it's ok. - p3ngwin, on 11/18/2008, -0/+2what the hell are you talking about??
- meghalc, on 11/18/2008, -0/+2I used to have the Tilt. Than I got a great deal on an Iphone....
Now, I can't even browse internet without haveing Safari crash on me. - inactive, on 11/18/2008, -0/+2oh gawd
- nathanChoi, on 11/18/2008, -3/+5Personally, I hate Windows Mobile. I have a T-Mobile Dash, and the whole OS is just damn slow, choppy, and continually gives me problems. Someone even had to make a 3rd party app to turn off recurring (and non existent!) alarms. I remember before I discovered it, my phone would constantly be going off... it's like they tried to take windows and cram it into a phone, instead of designing something around a phone.
Just my two cents. - batteryman16, on 11/18/2008, -1/+3Hey finally something other than the iphone on Digg!
- inactive, on 11/18/2008, -0/+2VGA? Ehhh? At least WVGA, c'mon. LED 65k color? Ehhh? At least Oled and millions of colors. Cmon we need better next gen phones.
- AllHereTruth, on 11/18/2008, -0/+2"The HSDPA 3G connection speed is 3.6Mb/s. That certain isn't the world's fastest, given Europe's rapidly movement toward 7.2Mb/s and higher."
America is far behind in both Mobile phone technology and Interweb broadband speeds compared to the rest of the developed world. How long till we catch up? Ever? - anitafagina, on 11/18/2008, -1/+3Yup, apples and oranges. Or, "sucks dick" and "sucks ass", respectively.
- p3ngwin, on 11/18/2008, -0/+1you can have all you want, as long as you're prepared to pay for it.
the manufacturer isn't going to make a device that will run the factory and pop just ONE for you, if you want those kind of specs the company needs to believe that they will sell loads.
so if you want those specs, convince other people to buy them instead of bitching to the company that makes it.
the company will sell you anything they believe will sell in numbers. - comptonstomp, on 11/18/2008, -1/+2oh darn. windows mobile ruins everything
- Pushkin, on 11/18/2008, -0/+1I am looking forward to giving its black synthetic leather instant respect and attention...
- sturmgiest, on 11/18/2008, -0/+1I have Windows Mobile(HTC Libra) and the phone works fine. There are no recurring alarms that bother me. Windows Mobile does seem designed around a phone to me. My friend payed 150$ more for his Jesus Phone that has no service in his dorm.
- p3ngwin, on 11/18/2008, -0/+1yes, if you could copy 'n' paste anything.
- MikeSetera, on 11/18/2008, -0/+1"That certain isn't the world's fastest, given Europe's rapidly movement toward 7.2Mb/s and higher."
*facepalm* Are these writers up at 2AM writing these things like I am writing my math paper? - divxrippimp, on 11/18/2008, -0/+1I mean seriously, we dont need higher chipset speeds to draw MORE power... Not until batteries actually get better... I have a touch pro, with an estimated 4.5-5.5 hrs of batt life, and im LUCKY to get that, so with this BOASTING a 3hr life, its just gonna be retarded...
- MCA2142, on 11/18/2008, -0/+1Only speed that matters in mobile space is the connection speed.
Fastest processor? good for them. Too bad they still have to play nice with then already-in-place infrastructure. - aserer511, on 11/18/2008, -0/+1NOT in for a 1000 dollar unlocked cost
- meghalc, on 11/18/2008, -0/+1LED is in there for battery life. Something Apple should have put in the Iphone.
- superppl, on 11/18/2008, -1/+2Ah yes, AT&T. I'm not quite sure just exactly who owns the phone I use. I paid for it, but according to my provider, I am simply renting it from AT&T...
- ElRayQuieres, on 11/18/2008, -0/+1Somebody stole my "there" from my comment. And changed "were" to "we". Bastards..
- meghalc, on 11/18/2008, -0/+1Its probably going to cost same as a cheap car.
- theOster, on 11/18/2008, -0/+1wish it were android though...
- Zippo, on 11/18/2008, -0/+1synthetic leather casing? You're joking, right?
- Zippo, on 11/18/2008, -0/+1I switched to Rogers from Aliant specifically for the iPhone... so far, they've treated me fairly well.
- Nextrix, on 11/18/2008, -0/+1http://watch.thecomedynetwork.ca/comedy-now/season ... (@ 4:46 time) It really applies to every cell phone carrier.
- scratend0788, on 11/18/2008, -0/+1asus are cool
- theOster, on 11/18/2008, -0/+1kind of surprised Asus didnt go for an Android OS...
- inactive, on 11/18/2008, -0/+1no thanks i'll pass
- tehbored, on 11/18/2008, -0/+1"Windows Mobile OS-based"
Well, that ruined it for me. If it ran Linux I'd get it in a heartbeat. - gilbert2048, on 11/19/2008, -0/+1Neo FreeRunner by Openmoko is still so much better.
- jjfac, on 11/19/2008, -0/+1Anus is a horrible name for a phone company.
- meghalc, on 11/18/2008, -0/+1We will never catch up. We will always be couple steps behind. This is due to our country being so ***** huge. The amount of money it takes to power the wireless Cellular network in U.S.A., I'm sure they used about the same amount to power most of the Europe.
