- perkonis, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12So a watered down version of real TV. Sounds appropriate.
- rabiddogma, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7How do you know what raccoon piss tastes like?
- brstilson, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Hey budweiser, how about making your beer not taste like racoon piss?
- MikeCerm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6They should probably just try to make good beer instead.
- geriborg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Just what we need! A further decline in content and deeper monopolization, commodification and trivialization of the value of the Internet, all in the service of a poor quality product from a Fortune 1000 company. Only the brain dead would celebrate this!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4How are you going to market webcasting in a trailer park?
- perkonis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Two words: Dale Junior.
- macewan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3the end user hunts racoon, why not drink its piss too?
- josegutz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Here's to you... Mr Budweiser WebTV channel Inventor!!!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Ideed, Bud is proof positive advertising works.
- brstilson, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4it's why I brew my own beer.
- zerg445, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Weak.
They bought out Rolling Rock and moved it to New Jersey. I dont drink Miller, Coors, or anything Bud. - porkstacker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2At last, a channel for people whose existence is based on:
+ mullets
+ bad taste
+ NASCAR
+ domestic violence
+ bad political decisions
+ inbreeding
+ DUIs - brstilson, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Canadian Mega Brew = American Mega Brew = crappy, bland beer
- spinchange, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2BudNation?
- calvey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Brew your own beer. If you take the time to learn the process, use sanitary technique, maybe crack open the old chemistry book - you will never drink BMC (Bud, Miller, Coors) again unless it is a last resort
- zedwards, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Regardless of the beer drinking pissing contests, i can just imagine their target audience, especially when one of the key elements is humorous webisodes and sports. What are the going to have, a farting frog show?
- justice7, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2this is why i stick to CANADIAN.
- rabiddogma, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah I heard that they were going to do this. They made some announcement about it at the begining of the year--right about the time of the Superbowl. I didn't think anything was going to come of it. Its hard to imagine a beer brand becoming a content provider--it seems like it would be a better play to buy out something else and not try to brand it Bud.tv. But I guess they gotta spend that 600 million ad dollars somewhere.
- perkonis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah, before all they had was Cops.
- roc889, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Bud tastes like mostly water. The real beers come from UK, Germany, Thailand and Mexico. Guiness, Corona, Singha (great Thai beer).
Bud is the 98 pound weakling in a beach of great beer. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1And GOP rallies every four years...
- messs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"How are you going to market webcasting in a trailer park?"
Same way Nascar is marketed.
Kidding aside, I'm not in marketing so I can't speak to how we'll be marketing a webcast. - amk829, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Spike TV, G4 anyone?
- sackU, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wondering which way my stock will go this year....
At least there will be a new section in the annual report :) - roc889, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Also, bud.tv is like watching AB marketing spank their pony...it ain't about the ads, it's about the beer...and Bud sux
- hapax, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Guess what the commercials are.
- chadell, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2No wonder Bud is turning to TV, that's the only strength in that beer. After watching bud commercials I open a beer and it is not bud!
- Rosco, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1This is cool, my younger brother in on the Budweiser Top Fuel race team, maybe we'll get to see more of him now instead of what we see on ESPN.
- arctikjon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Bud tastes like mostly water. The real beers come from UK, Germany, Thailand and Mexico. Guinness, Corona, Singha (great Thai beer).

Wow.. that is an intelligent post!
1.- Not even the Irish are drinking Guinness any more, seriously - an 8% volume drop already this year in Ireland. Why? because its not really that good- we all just have grown up thinking it was"cool" Marketing!. Its low alcohol- 4% vs the 5% for Bud- now if there is less alcohol what do you think makes up the rest of it?... yep- water. They just use darker malts and ferment less so the extract (sugar levels) are higher and you don't think its watery.
2.- I will say some German beers are very good, however its hardly a reasonable comparison to match an Ale vs a Lager, that's like comparing Beef and Pork. Both are meat but the process is very different. How many people home brew Lagers??? I would venture to say not nearly as many as ales. Its a more difficult process, fermenting at lower temperatures, and requiring longer aging. American Lagers are supposed to be free of all the aromatics that Ales are stuffed full of- a result of an uncontrolled fermentation. Neither is right or wrong, you just cant say an Ale is better than a Lager they are VERY different products and each has its merits
3. Thailand?... are you serious???
4. Does anyone seriously think that Corona is less watery or better tasting than anything that comes out of the US?? Why do we put limes in Corona? Because its really does not taste all that great to start with. Oh and who do you think owns over half the company that makes Corona??? Anheuser-Busch does.
Bud is not the 98 pound weakling... it is the Ocean. More than half of the beer sold in this country is an Anheuser-Busch most of that being Bud and Bud Light. The next closest is miller... with roughly 13%. The product is a giant and there is not another brewer in the world who even comes close. InBev actually has higher volumes across the whole portfolio however lose out big time in Revenue. Some of the success is due to marketing, but product quality plays a part as well.
If you don't like the taste of a beer that's fine, but to snub something just because you are anti-establishment is foolish. Don't worry about image, drink what you like.
I think the BUD.TV is a brilliant idea- Coke has proved that using the Internet to connect with consumers is a very powerful tool. This is no different, it makes more sense to own the Media channel than to pay someone to lease time on it. Wait and see the programming might actually be worthwhile. - thewaz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2wtf
- klinsek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wow. Pathetic. I hope they optimize the bandwidth on that site for dial up, as I don't think the mobile home developments have broadband yet.
- gregnorth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Anybody know which broadband tv company bagged this account?
- itanshi, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2tis why i stick to japanese, try an Orion
- messs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I happen to work for AB's web ops department (architecture NOT web design). Feel free to ask questions and I'll answer what I can...
