- dynacrylic, on 10/10/2007, -0/+114Luckily I'm not part of the "one in three giving up friends and sex for the Web" because I have neither to give up.
: - DariusMonsef, on 10/10/2007, -1/+104What percent is going online for web sex friends though?
- omnithought, on 10/10/2007, -5/+74My Fleshlight doesn't want my money and it doesn't bitch.
- asancho, on 10/10/2007, -1/+40Weed is my anti-internet.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+32giving up sex for the web, WTF!!??
ive been trying to do the exact opposite for about 7 years now with very little success :( - tokyomonster, on 10/10/2007, -1/+30I'll take some of the left over sex plz.
- JasonCox, on 10/10/2007, -0/+28"...cannot go for a week without going online..."
Dugg because I cant go for an hour without being online. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -3/+30My hand doesn't want batteries and I always know where it is.
- HerrEisenheim, on 10/10/2007, -2/+27I haven't had a friend or sex in over a year. I fail at life. At least the internets accept me.
- thailand1972, on 10/10/2007, -2/+26Giving up friends and sex for the web? More like they're UNABLE to get friends or hot sex.
- izzybr, on 10/10/2007, -0/+21I'm guessing the 1 in 3 wasn't getting much action to begin with, and saying it's because you spend too much online is easier to admit than you look hideous in the light
- stupergenius, on 10/10/2007, -1/+20Yeah, the internet, totally.
- NeoCortex, on 10/10/2007, -2/+20I have plenty of friends. In fact, we just had a very successful 60-man raid last night.
- ahoyhoy, on 10/10/2007, -1/+19It also never tries to tell you the same story over and over again. Oh wait, we're on Digg...
- zombiedepot, on 10/10/2007, -0/+16Not paying the bill is my method.
- scottnash, on 10/10/2007, -0/+14I thought it was just being married that made you give up friends and sex.
- Rikkochet, on 10/10/2007, -0/+13Just think back to the pre-web days and instead of giving up sex, drugs, and rock 'n roll for the web, people gave up sex, drugs, and rock 'n roll and had... Nothing.
- vuke69, on 10/10/2007, -0/+13The light, it BURRRRNNSSSS...
- thailand1972, on 10/10/2007, -4/+16I am the internets and I reject you.
- mavedatthews85, on 10/10/2007, -2/+13I hate "studies" like this.
I'm sorry, but if I had to choose between having sex every day for the rest of my life and going on the Internet every day for the rest of my life... come on. - lordofhaha, on 10/10/2007, -1/+12Ok monster, we have a 40 year old fat balding male straight from his mother's basement lined up for you at 3pm.
- Arcesius, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11I'm at work. I don't think I'll be clicking on a link that has "girls.porno-woman" and "web_sex" in it, irregardless of the context of the thread.
- Koldkompress, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11Why dude? Seriously.
I mean, we're having a completely NON-POLITICAL story on Digg and its social repercussions and for some reason, you have to drag in Ron Paul into it? Are you that desperate for attention you have to randomly look for confrontation to your political beliefs in unrelated threads because there hasn't been a Ron Paul story in the latest hour and you've got nowhere else to bitch?
I wish YOU were the one not having sex, so your ***** narcissistic self-centered ego can't be passed on. - supaklaw, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9Dressing up in a furry dog costume and playing Second Life to gangbang unicorns...? I'm sure it's a high percentage.
- DreKor, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9Funny, it's my pro-internet. YouTube becomes very very important.
- Sweeper18, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9I dunno about anyone else, but I would easily sacrifice a TV for internet
- xombiefarts, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8"How do you kill that which has no life?"
- timusca, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8This is because friends and sex-like activites can be done all at the same time and be left in the background while you play WoW. Its really just more efficient than wooing a woman into sex and then hanging out with the guys.
- kurrent, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9if you had to choose....no sex for the rest of your life or no internet for the rest of your life?
easy choice for me, but i'd never admit it. - timusca, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8If you get buried for that comment, then you fail at the Internet too...
- raynar, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8I'm thinking the ones who say they're giving up sex really mean that they're giving up wanking it.
Now, lets all point and laugh at the Chinese who cant quit playing games and die. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9"It is taking away from offline activities, among them having sex, socializing face-to-face, watching TV and reading newspapers and magazines. It cuts into that share..."
Going outside is no longer a relevant offline activity? Hell, I'd give up the internet for a little while to watch TV. - Kyrgizion, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7I like to combine the two.
- MacParrot, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6In light of some of the comments I've seen on digg, this suddenly makes a lot of sense...
- antlerboy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6don't they mean: one in three adults who cant find sex or friends resort to the web
- Error601, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7How many said, "what's a web" in that survey? Or did they do it on-line?
- mrurc, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6When do you sleep?
- Koldkompress, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6and you have a girlfriend, she's a level 70 night elf rogue by the name of hawtlipz69.
- Asianwaste, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5This guy's spamming. Check out his comment history
- Durinthal, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7Sure it is. It means "not without regard" if you take it literally and break it down into parts.
- Ebacherville, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6First question is how do you give up what you never had.. and second sex is subjective.. I'm sure there is alot more sex with you self going on thanks to the web.
- EdwinJ85, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6I would give up the internet for regular sex, as I belive ANY red blooded decent male would as long as it was in a caring and respectful manner ie a relationship or something. This people obviously do not know what they are missing out on, or are VERY strange. Still, free will and all that. Leaves more for me :)
- thailand1972, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5It is a silly study - it's like you can either surf the net, or have hot sex and friendships. But heaven forbid someone could possibly use the internet a few hours a day, and have the time for friends offline / sex - I mean, how can they possibly juggle these two things?! /sarcasm
- burdalane, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4I didn't start surfing the web extensively until I started college in 1999, but even before that I didn't socialize often. I gave up friends for books. I can't really think of anything to talk about, so I've never been able to make a lot of friends. Reading, surfing the web, or watching TV is more fun than staring at a wall all the time.
- Estaris, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Except there are no 60 man raids in WoW. : ) yes I play and I have friends/sex/husband/house/job/dinner parties/ travel. I just don't sleep much. XD
- JAGUART, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4And by "girlfriend" you mean bald, fat thirty year old man in a basement.
- l1wulf, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3CraigJ is correct. xBITReaVeRx, did you bother to check the "definitions" you linked to? One is for "regardless" the other says it's an erroneous use of regardless...
- DontGiveADamn, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Wow, that's exactly what I did. You guys are my only friends.
- timusca, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Tough one... I'd probably say no sex, simply because most people give it up one day anyway. Besides, the Internet is full of sex alternatives :-P
