- ZackRabbit, on 10/12/2007, -4/+41Here is a link to part 2 of this video.... this one is only about 4 minutes long
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yyXpHoihMXs&search=Rube%20Goldberg - samholton, on 10/12/2007, -4/+39In Japan, they (Rube Goldberg machines) are called pitagora souchi, which means Pythagorean Machine.
- diggtard, on 10/12/2007, -6/+31Mita Gora Sorichi!!
Must-resist-strange-urge-to-kill-self...... - carguy84, on 10/12/2007, -6/+31Awesome video, horrid "song". It's like brady music gone bad. very bad.
Viewer beware, high rate of suicide after viewing. - slappe, on 10/12/2007, -3/+22You too can sing along... A TACO, NACHO, HEATSINK
- OsakaWilson, on 10/12/2007, -3/+17SamHolton is almost right. You could also translate it as Pythagorean Switch. They are saying switch, which is pronounced su-i-chi, in Japanese.
Sabin's Japanese friend needs to crack a few more books. Hehe. - p9s50W5k4GUD2c6, on 10/12/2007, -4/+15VERY creative examples of inertia physics.
But that damn jingle! After 9 freakin minutes of it - I was going to go marbles! - Keiser, on 10/12/2007, -5/+16that jingle freaks me the ***** out
- donsherio, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11Digtard - its acutally "Pitagora suichi" which like manzoid said, is a Japanese "sound-a-like" translation to Pythagorian Switch. Yeah, ive seen this show when i was a little kid (im japanese :P) and i remember these little segments i think were just in the middle of the show, or after every scene, and the music isnt annoying when its not played back to back :P but yeah, they are reallllllllllly kool, so i hope u guys enjoy a lil japanese culture :p
- kiddailey, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10One look at the javascript behind that file-not-found 404 page and you can definitely see just how evil it is.
A warning for everyone -- if you click the torrent link with the period on the end of it, you browser will display a homosexual image while playing an overly-loud "Hey everybody, I'm looking at gay porno!" audio file and then REPEATEDLY:
* open windows with goatse.sx, tubgirl, et al. in them
* open new message windows in your e-mail program
* try to post to usenet
Your popup blocker will most likely not block it. And you will probably not be able to stop it with ALT-F4 and CTRL+ALT+DEL (the script tries to intercept those keys). OS X users can force quit the browser to stop the madness, but Windows users will probably not have as much luck.
Yikes.
I'd also suggest NOT to click the "working" torrent link. If the website owner sees all the traffic coming from Digg, the torrent may be removed and then you'll get the same madness described above. - Flashman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I can't view the video since YouTube is offline. I think this is the same file on Google Video:

(The MUSIC, it BURNS!) - fingolfin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7 Though these are kinda neat they are not Rube Goldberg machines. They do not accomplish a simple every-day task in a ridiculously complicated manner. This is the essence of Rube Goldberg machines. Why walk over and turn on the lights when you can use a 20 step machine that takes hours to set up every time??
- howittsdone, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6The Honda commercial only using the parts of the car: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uyN9y0BEMqc&search=honda%20accord
- merlinicorpus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Every time that jingle played, a little part of my soul died.
- sestalker, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8Anyone have a clue as to what the H the Japanese characters spell - or WTH the lil' jingle is saying?
- Toshibi, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8You mean Sepuku after viewing...
- Xinareiaz, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7You are evil
- jbus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Cool video, but that little tune they sing after each one can drive you insane.
- lava, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6I'm guessing no one watches Bleach here? The first frame is the end of the intro.
- Xinareiaz, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8Dont clicky the torent link!
- p9s50W5k4GUD2c6, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8DAAMn long video.
From tires, to suds to acid to rockets: that is one massive chain of disastrous causality.
Sorta reminds me of the lives of some people I have known... - thenativeraver, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8You might want to check this one out as well.

"In the cartoon series Family Guy, Peter Griffin uses a Rube Goldberg machine (one almost exactly like the breakfast machine in Pee Wee's Big Adventure), that comically shoots Peter with a gun rather than make breakfast." - alexrandall, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5pretty neat. when the marbles speed away right after they fall between two glass panels.
- bsoric, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6How cool is the one where the thing plays the jingle with the glasses? :O
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I've loved these things ever since seeing Chunk do the truffle shuffle in The Goonies.
- b3and1p, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6I dunno why I clicked that link.. I already knew it was bad news... AND I am at work... All I can say is, I am happy I didn't have speakers plugged in and that I was quick at shutting down firefox and outlook. Please for the love of god, learn from my mistakes and don't click that link :)
- CorpT, on 10/12/2007, -5/+8But they're not Rube Goldberg machines. Rube machines do something that should be very simple in a very complex way. These are just cool machines that do fun things.
- mongrel, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Jeezus how many freaking trojans would that have installed - and which ones - if I hadn't had McAffee running? I had to force-shutdown my computer and we're both goddam lucky it came back up OK. DO NOT CLICK THAT LINK
- shoeblade, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It's at google video here:

- Sabin, on 10/12/2007, -6/+9The jingle says:
pitagora
suichi
My Japanese friend says this is just gibberish or a name which i suspected from the beginning since its written entirely in katakana. - JAWA, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2terrible terrible song.... had to mute.... must rip ears off... me cha go ra so re che.... aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..................*bang* *thud*
- Qpalzm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Funny - I watched this last week.
For those wondering what that brief blip in the beginning is. It's a frame of the beginning of Bleach.
A fansubgroup, Dattebayo posted a fakesub of episode 73 on March 21st with the title "[YHBT]_Bleach_73.avi"
This was the week after it was announced that Bleach had been licensed, so many people jumped at the next episode, a double special which was to really air the following Tuesday.
Good one, Dattebayo. You got me.

Digg, because I actually watched the entire video. Sorry, if links were posted before, I didn't scour all the posts. - muyuu, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4ピタゴラスイッチ pitagora suicchi (Pitagoras Switch)
Rocks my socks. - denman526, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3ah man, all it does is shoot ya! it doesnt make breakfast at all!
- donsherio, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Dude, The japanese language isnt like that, they dont conform to the 26 letters that we do, altho they have addapted their characters into a form called Romaji, which is bascially 1 japanese character equals 2 english letters, 1 consonent, and 1 vowel, as well as the exceptions of individual characters for a i u e o and n. So for the H's, you would have Ha Hi Hu He and Ho. And then tehres even more stuff to make it even more complicated. If u have an English word, like "switch" and want to convert it to Japaanese, without translating it, then you use a from called Katakana, basically a style of japanese writing, and it mainly means that that word comes from another language, like english, and therefore wont look like a real japanese word. They also convert switch by using the sounds of the word and using the appropriate character to represent the sound.... sOOOO in japanese, switch is Su i ttchi (i dont wanna explain the double "t" >.>)
WOOT! go japanese lesson, i hope i used the right word, romaji :P - mwace, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4I think this video is trying to take over my mind.....
- everfalling, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4the only thing i didn't like about this video is that it's not all one thing. every time it comes to that soap mud slide thing it changed from one scene to the next. hard to see at first but you can see the bubbles shift dramatically each time they zoom in on it.
- CJHtxGeek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yeah saw the yhbt 73 a week or two ago, lol
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This one's better - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1kvdq8cRNBM&search=Rube%20Goldberg

- NewEvolution, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4And that whole time I was certain it was an advertisement for some kind of Japanese laundry detergent...
Someone should release a product named ピタゴラスイッチ in the US. I'd be inexorably compelled to buy it. =( - Tachikama, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Hahaha, I hope the only other anime geek out there is laughing as hard as I am. Truely viral.
- lochness, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Wonder if the digg effect is slowly killing YouTube....
They've been down a fair bit in recent days....
Anyway.. look forward to seeing the video from the OP - themastersb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1OMG. Ever since those marble videos showed up on that fake Bleach episode they've been everywhere.
- amoeba, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yep, it's a childrens program here in Japan, on everyday I think. Pythagoras Switch ピタゴラスイッチ
They make a new one of those machines everytime and it always ends with the little flag. - BJWisch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The 18th National Rube Goldberg Contest in West Lafayette, IN took place April 1st this year.
