Omg I just did........... - inactive, on 12/01/2008, -2/+29Now the video is pretty Bad Ass!
- chroko, on 12/02/2008, -6/+26This is vaporware until it's a shipping product.
Adobe is all like: "in my lab, I have a magical unicorn that cures cancer with it's rainbow-colored poop. But you can't have it."
I wouldn't be surprised if they have no clue about how to integrate this into their existing product line: Are these low-end features? High-end? Stand-alone? Put it into Premiere? What about After Effects? - feezus, on 12/02/2008, -2/+20That has got to be the coolest thing I've ever seen.
- BossKey, on 12/02/2008, -0/+12Except they have a record of moving lab stuff into products. Seam carving was a research paper not too long ago, now it's in Photoshop CS4.
- McBradd, on 12/02/2008, -0/+10This reminds me of the "Liquid resize" video from a while back... earlier today I noticed that Adobe quietly built it into CS4 http://is.gd/9P6M
- inactive, on 12/02/2008, -0/+8I like Microsoft's version much better. I think they are learning some new tricks up there.

- rr525356, on 12/02/2008, -0/+6That's a bridge here in Seattle, where Valve is based (technically Bellevue), so I wouldn't be surprised if it provided some inspiration. The Columbia Tower downtown provided inspiration for the Citadel Tower.
- chadu, on 12/02/2008, -0/+6It's in Photoshop CS4.
- megaton, on 12/02/2008, -1/+7How the ***** did you get dugg up so high for such an asinine statement?
- baldboy7, on 12/02/2008, -0/+6This looks awesome although, youtube videos will never be the same. Just think of what people will do with a rickroll.
- palehorse864, on 12/02/2008, -0/+5The arrow thing is going to spawn so many Donnie Darko ripoffs.
- jessehadden, on 12/02/2008, -0/+5That is sooooooo cool. I don't care that it will be a while. That's a toy worth salivating over.
Moreover, I so want that guy's job. - BossKey, on 12/02/2008, -0/+5Wow, don't know if I can hold out that long...15 whole months...
Non-sarcastically, though, when Adobe announces an upgrade the threads are full of posts complaining about "seems like I just bought the last one, they want me to upgrade already?" They are down to 18-month cycles now. Which is it that we really want, them to put out updates more often or less often? - tj111, on 12/02/2008, -0/+5Theres been some amazing advancements in video editing technology in the past few months alone. The next few years it will be interesting to see where some of it goes.
- quidpro, on 12/01/2008, -2/+6When this vid was posted a few days ago, I don't remember Adobe's brand being plastered everywhere. I don't remember seeing it at Vimeo either...
just me, or did Adobe have a freak out? - inactive, on 12/02/2008, -1/+5Holy crap. They're using this stuff right now to scan our faces and monitor where we are at all times.
- LR2_, on 12/02/2008, -2/+6Yeah, I'm still waiting on that image resizing technology they acquired over a year ago.

- Spoomeister, on 12/02/2008, -0/+3Soon, every video on the Internet will be porn, whether it started that way or not.
thanks, adobe. - burden555, on 12/02/2008, -0/+3they should make it an addon to after effects or premiere
- fkuall, on 12/02/2008, -0/+3CTRL + ALT + SHIFT + C in Adobe® Photoshop© Creative Suite 4™
- chroko, on 12/02/2008, -1/+3How long did that take them?
15 months. (July 2007 to October 2008).
At that rate, we're looking at summer 2010 before these features show up in Adobe CS5. - inactive, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2Dugg for Freemont Seattle. (Where the video was shot)
- buddypriefert, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2Agreed. One instance where an MS concept in testing has outdone an Adobe concept in testing.
- inactive, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2The text part looked a bit dodgy, but the lines that showed you what direction a person had walked in was pretty impressive.
- fkuall, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2
- deathbycamera, on 12/02/2008, -1/+3i saw this on the front page two days ago.
i showed it in my class today, a photojournalism class, and we were all mostly appalled at what this tool could mean for the ethics of our industry.
dupes are okay if they're longer than a year old. adobe had a hand in getting this reposted to the front page with their logo on it. http://digg.com/design/Adobe_dabbles_in_video_obje ... - Chris_F, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2You can already do all of that in AE.
- herrshuster, on 12/02/2008, -1/+2http://www.aviz.fr/dimp/
Some of this has been done already - wukillabee, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1lulz
- tidu, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1OMG GR*PED???? REALLY?
- minago, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1awesome toys, I hope some of these features make it into final cut
- BossKey, on 12/02/2008, -1/+2Including functionality does not equal including the same fast interface...one of the main points in the video.
- Psy86, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1A lot of people are green when it comes to technology like this, and I bet most of the snarky comments are going to be from people who are incredibly computer savvy, but to be honest, I gotta give props to this guy:
He going to make noobs into pros. - GhostFreeman, on 12/03/2008, -0/+1That's some cool *****, Adobe. How many hours did you spend on this over Dear Adobe issues?
- rr525356, on 12/02/2008, -1/+2His "friends" look a little bit young to me.
- mstachiw, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1All that's needed is a digital critiquing system that will prevent average consumers from creating and presenting poor content. Then apply that technology to
1) iMovie (or generic PC consumer nonlinear editing software) home videos with more cheesy transitions than you can throw at a video toaster and no rational sense of editing or compression of time.
2) Photoshop images with 1 or more lens flares, compositing clipped images, HDR, and/or useless filter with Zero need or motivation behind it other than "It made it look cool"
3) Cameras taking photos with everything centered and told to smile
4) Video cameras on auto everything while user rides the zoom like its the stick shift of an Audi A4
5) Myspace "web designs" (at least put an epilepsy warning when needed)
6) Youtube "98.9% of user submitted content" including any video that made the top 10 anything of that day
7) Media player displaying content by disillusioned content creator to a reluctant friend or family member (or at least a warning that precious moments of your life will be shaved off into oblivion) - geoken, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1Pretty much everything I have ever seen in Adobe labs has shipped. Adobe is the antithesis of vaporware. They'll have people actively testing relatively polished versions of apps before they've even announced them.
- Chris_F, on 12/03/2008, -0/+1I'd take more advanced functionally and comprehensive tools over quick gimmicks any day.
- RandomSkratch, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1And now over to Max Headroom for the weather...
- micro23, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1Same thought I had. Awesome.
- digitalpencil, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1DiMP's been doing this for a while. http://www.aviz.fr/dimp/
- xero69, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1What if someone combined this video technology with voice recognition software? You could make someone on video say almost anything once you sampled their voice and face. Newscasters and actors could become obsolete after their faces were scanned and their voices were sampled... weird
- drumheadv, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1I find this scary in terms of what ill-minded journalists might use it for...
- marksangenito, on 12/02/2008, -1/+1"Even expert users take at least 5 minutes to do this tast"
thats what she said. - geoken, on 12/02/2008, -1/+1Let me guess, you're also waiting to find out how the Matrix Trilogy ends and who will win the 2008 election.
