readwriteweb.com — eBay and Yahoo! are both rivals of Google, but because eBay purchases so much advertising on the Google search engine, they hold a lot of power over Google. A merged Yahoo!-eBay would create a company that is still half the size of Google on paper, but would have more resources to grow.

  • noctu, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2it would be a nightmare, yahoo lacks customer support and also tried to have their own auction and online payment system and both failed in theory if this happened it would be like ebay/paypal catching aids so to speak.
  • danielbachhuber, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2I thought the same thing about Google and Apple. Google Phone and the iPhone one and the same anyone? One can only hope that Yahoo! picks itself out of the dust and does something intelligent for once.
