OH THE HORROR! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Logan's Run is another 70's classic ( the book is MUCH better ) but it doesn't have a direct connection to the movie "Soylent Green"

- ScornForSega, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Not a direct connection perhaps, but they deal with similar issues.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1"Soylent Green" is a wonderful Sci-Fi movie from the 70s starring Charlton Heston. It sets a detective story against what American might look like in an overpopulated world of the near future. It is still frightening in that it isn't at all dated. Many of the trends that the plot extends forward are still happening today. "Soylent Green" is a food the Americans of the future eat......the only food they have to eat.....( unless you are the equivalent of a BIll Gates ). It is supposed to be a mixture of soy and seaweed, but it is something else. I would say more, but I don't want to give away the movie.
Go rent it! You will not be sorry. It is a classic.
