- bhowell, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14I wonder if he's tracking this submission.
- UncommonSense, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Nice behind-the-scenes look at the lifespan of a Digg. Digg articles about Digg always seem to be popular. We, the Digg community, are incestuous like that.
- domusvita, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10"I'm just a digg, an ordinary digg..."
- 12Volts, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Sometime I bookmark to read it later and sometimes I bookmark because I digg it. Not sure why people think you have to read the article to digg. I digg it to read it later sometimes. I guess some people think a digg should only be used as a sign of approval.
- AKBryant54, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6and then there are people that click it, comment it, and report it as lame.
- popltree2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Haha...doubt it. An interesting thing that I (along with most of the Digg community) have come to realize is that stories submitted to Digg about Digg usually have a better chance of hitting the front page. It's the same idea that, and I am speaking in an over-general fashion, people like to see their home town on CNN. People like seeing Digg outside Digg because they are a part of Digg. Representation for the little guy I suppose. Either that or an ego boost in the form of popularity.
- Glenn, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Great article! Very good read.
- jtjdt, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7The previous site you submitted will start getting hits again ;-)
- jconnop, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7I enjoy statistics about how information spreads throughout the Internet, a great article!
- popltree2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I went to bed last night/this morning at about 12:30am with approx. 40 diggs. I woke up this morning at about 730 and checked it to find that it had not only been promoted to the front page but had received 560 diggs. That makes 520 diggs in about 7 hours.
On top of that, comments had grown from 2 to 15. Not all positive, but still comments nonetheless. - nabru, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4LOL! I thought that said a day in the life of a dog.. the article didn't make sense for a minute there.
...Stupid dyslexia. - popltree2, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5lol...yeah, I don't know too many dogs that submit articles to the Deals section. The Programming section though, that's a different story...
- JazonBladen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Well, a lot of it comes from the fact that some people give Diggs, but don't click, and some people give clicks, but no Diggs, then there's people that Digg it, comment on it, and also click it.
- Blendertje, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Great article, examples always make things much clearer than just dry text imo.
If you're also tracking this submission, please post the outcome. It might be interesting to see if there is a lot of difference (also in other sites pickup up this article) between "Deals" and "News" - popltree2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2No idea how much was made from adsense. It isn't my blog. I will try and get into contact with the blogger and get some more info.
- IKilled007, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5I was going to compose A Day In The Life Of A Digg User, but I realized that aside from the masturbation and Mountain Dew and Angelina Jolie wallpaper, it would be really boring.
- netburnr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2How about a followup story.
How much google adsense you made off this story.
Not being mean, just curious how much adsense will make you off a 1000+ digg story...you have got to have some serious pageviews, even with no clicks. - roaringLION, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"It would be redundant to say you liked it after digging it."
Let me be redundant by saying great article. Heh... - popltree2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Let's see if, by adding a comment and see who is watching Digg spy, if I can get some more diggs for this story! A little experiment, if you will.
- jesusisapervert, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Interesting, I never thought your average digg article was passed around that much.
- xoxuxox, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I've already dugg this story though.
- popltree2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is from the blogger in regards to the question about an increase in Adsense revenue:
"This latest Digg brought in an additional 5,000 page views above my daily average.
There was no increase in AdSense revenue. I attribute this to two things: 1) the topic of the post isn't particularly good for ads (I think) and 2) Digg users are probably blind to AdSense ads. And even though I have advertisers that target my site and pay per 1000 views rather than per click, the competition for ad space on this particular post was likely weak given the topic which would've resulted in a in low pay rates per 1000 views.
However, I did get several hundred more feed subscribers according to the stats from FeedBurner. That's a very nice outcome." - Harmless, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3@12volts
If you want to mark a story to read it later, middle click it (http://www.getfirefox.com).
If you are digging a story, it IS because you want to give it your "sign of approval"
Why would you digg a story without even reading it? That sounds like the type of person who got though high school english by watching the movies instead of reading the books. You don't get points for having the most diggs, so read the story before you digg it. - Battlecry, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2What was the original digg? Did I miss it? I didn't actually see a link in the article.
- urbanted, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I enjoyed this
=) - Kailash.Nadh, on 10/12/2007, -8/+5An article on an article thats dugg, no wonder why Digg's quality is going down day by day.
- matx, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2Good read and quite detailed. Not sure if anyone feels the same but there are way too many reports on diggs about how many hits sites are getting, but I guess its interesting to others.
- ethaizone, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1Great Article! Digg is good way to show your site and get suggestion for you!

What is Digg?
