- deeboe, on 10/10/2007, -5/+15What a coincidence. I got my first blow job on Craigslist!
- nakani, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Haha he talks about the technological singularity with blasé in interviews with major publications. This guy rocks
- lordtyros, on 10/10/2007, -3/+9That man's face is going to give me nightmares.
- dawnridge, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8my favorite quote - "Craigslist users are pretty sophisticated and don't tend to view sexual relations between consenting adults as seedy, at least compared to what goes on in the White House and Congress or the boardrooms of many large corporations."
Aside from the "sophisticated" comment (perhaps he's never read the Rants and Raves section) that was a great answer. - albatross5000, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6How I've used craigslist ~
- Found very very pretty dates complete with lots of hot sex at some point or another (not on the 1st date)
- Found a fantastic coding job that gave me a 20% raise up front, then another 20% raise, then a 7% raise (in 2.5 years)
- sold somewhere around $1-2k worth of furniture
- bought awesome cheap hard to find framed prints
- traded an XBOX for a PS2 then traded the PS2 for a nice PDA
- over about 6 years found 4 or so roommates
- found apartments to live in
- an easy $2k consulting gig
- posted jobs and found high quality people for our team - EonZ, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5I like hearing about non-stereotypical CEO's who are on the lookout for the rest of us. The rest of corporate America's leaders can learn something from this guy...
- gandhii, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3and to be better, it also has to work on practically every browser out there.. and on every speed of internet connection.
- lexbaby, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3A better site? Let's hear it. Remember it as to be free to use and have a reasonable amount of traffic.
Sure, it's not all flash(y) or pretty. But it's very easy for me to use and I get the info I need. I've bought and sold many things on craigslist. - SuperMoses, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4If I could digg myself down, I would.
- chromie, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Great article. I've just started using Craigslist to find jobs now that I have graduated. It works. First interview is this week.
- aywwts4, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2"We operate with a public-service mentality such that we don't think in terms of competition."
I wish all public services were run as well as craigslist. I also with a lot of other websites would look at craigslist and realize they dont need a 100kb+ page and tons of spiffy graphics to make it online. Everything loads and renders as fast as you click it. - soupir, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1His adam's apple, on the other hand...
- garageillusion, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Its very utilitarian. Like real life classifieds that come in your local news paper, only the user base is slightly more intelligent because we can actually operate a computer.
- gandhii, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1it was a play on words... not all that funny... but what do you expect from such a publication.
- NiceToMEETyou, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Lord Voldemort?
- etx313, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2Dude. You rock.
- defyitout, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2yeah, but for the most part this isn't a normal CEO-- most CEO's don't know how to do their job, that's why they only last 3 years at a time.
- ravencin, on 12/21/2007, -0/+0actually i dont hink he is the first one, the one at http://craigslistit.com also got it too
- gibsonic, on 10/10/2007, -3/+2CEO - Cheap Ejaculation Offer
- etx313, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1He's a looker!!!!
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -3/+2Wow, after all this time you'd think he'd have programmed a way to keep out spammers and made it look better than it is.
- jordan314, on 10/10/2007, -9/+8I posted too in Casual Encounters, and Craig Newmark saw it and invited me in for an interview.
- lexbaby, on 10/10/2007, -3/+2LOL! Bad joke and already used.
- SuperMoses, on 10/10/2007, -5/+3I posted a casual encounter ad. Craig Newark saw it and invited me in for an "interview"
- kahlessreborn, on 10/10/2007, -7/+3Is it me or does Craigslist look like *****? It seems counter intuitive and basically for anything you can do on it there is a better site out there.
- jtb4, on 10/10/2007, -14/+1snore.....
