- carguy84, on 10/12/2007, -5/+78Ha, now we all know where grey legos go to die.
Very very cool. - themightychris, on 10/12/2007, -2/+63You know you spend too much time on digg when you call photographs "screenshots"
- sporktek, on 10/12/2007, -9/+53Aren't there bears outside?
- RatBagu, on 10/12/2007, -17/+58I don't know, but I hear it's based off of AJAX.
- pacdude, on 10/12/2007, -16/+47Lego2.0?
- Zeuser, on 10/12/2007, -4/+34Doesn't matter. The guy will be world famous for his talent. Honestly I applaud this simply because the guy actually did something. Even if it is just cheesy Lego stuff, he probably did more than you'll ever do!
- Spastastic, on 10/12/2007, -6/+33Can I access the internet outside? If not being outside is usless.
- harmlessinc, on 10/12/2007, -3/+29http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=126969
Can anyone tell me why digg is sending clicks to a site that swiped the images and slapped their watermark on the photos? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+30Now time for my standard lego story response:
is there anything lego CAN'T do?
Thats awesome - Pie_Man, on 10/12/2007, -2/+24I'll bet that the box for that thing would take up an entire isle at Toys"R"Us
- djdole, on 10/12/2007, -0/+22Nice.
Although if I were to make it, I'd have a few thoughts when done....
Why did I just make this?
Why did I spend my time & money on this?
How am I going to ship this when I sell it on eBay!?!
(and finally)
Which room am I going to lock myself in to keep myself from smashing this in a fit of destructive joy? - jta827, on 10/12/2007, -11/+32No, Lego bricks!
Ha, I slay me. - Corsix, on 10/12/2007, -12/+32Is it the Lego .BRICK framework?
- dolby, on 10/12/2007, -3/+17I want to see a huge lego Battlestar Galatica that would be sick.
- davidlkirby, on 10/12/2007, -6/+20I give it a week untill google buys it
- SoccerBoy, on 10/12/2007, -11/+23That thing is f'ing huge!!!
- kimwhite, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13wish there where details... how many blocks, time , etc... but way cool.
- cBennett, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Lego Land should hire this guy.
- pfdogs, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13Yeah, but does it float?
- Denver80203, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10I've been watching this guy update this project on brickshelf pages for months. It's been fun to watch him add the bits.
Getting this many peices is a challenge but possible. I just bought another 25 pounds of lego for 91$ yesterday on ebay which is a pretty good price.. usually about 175 depending on the description.. mentioning star wars in the title seems to drive it up. I'm somewhere in the 350 pounds range on my collection... sorted into little trays by color and shape. It's a way to pass the time while winding down in front of the TV. not to mention building.
When buying that "grey inverse 2x2 45% slope" in BULK, you head over to www.bricklink.com . takes a bit of poking to figure it out but, imagine a street market with people selling off their collections by the part. that peice I just mentioned may average about 4 cents or so.. but that's 100 for 4 bulks plus shipping. I can't begin to tell you how addictive this site is once you figure it out.
I would place the part value of that ship in 1500 range if not much much more. - raccettura, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11As a 22 year old with 2 shelves full of Lego (because it's the coolest toy EVER)...
that's awesome. - kaje, on 10/12/2007, -6/+15I'm willing to bet that you're not connected wirelessly, outside, and picking up girls while posting stupid comments on digg.
- chiller2002, on 10/12/2007, -8/+17Bears, the #1 Threatdown! You're on notice!
- Squeegee, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10Love the attention to detail. Amazing
- StuartGibson, on 06/14/2009, -3/+11Thus making more room for giant Lego structures
- lukas88, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11sadly, legos do not float. This I know to be a fact.
- Arramol, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Tonyspencer, shall I assume you're taking a break from your AIDS/cancer research to surf Digg? Seriously, it's not like it's a crime for a guy to have a hobby. For all you know, medical research could be his day job...although I'm placing my bet on engineering personally.
- Ilyanep, on 10/12/2007, -7/+14That's the most ironic thing i've ever seem:
"Does it run linux" ... +46 Diggs
"CSS" ... -13 Diggs - Merlyn383, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7What I want to know is, where is the instruction manual?
Seriously, if I had a room that i could dedicate as a "come check this sh!t out", I would love for this to be right there in the center.
And I second the use of: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=126969 There are sooo many more pics, available in 1600x1200. - Jonsey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Why go outside where the girls are, When you can build a girl out of lego though?
- EliColburn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6you can never have too much time on your hands
- master_of_fm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5you can order individual pieces from the lego catalog. so if you wanted 1000 gray 6x2 bricks, you can order 1000 6x2 gray bricks
- thekurst, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5A - Frickin - Mazing, I was blown away by the size initially but man look at the detail. Different aircraft types, all reletively accurate in scale and design, and WOW look at inside, the walkways inside are amazing
- SoccerBoy, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7FYI - We have reply, maybe you should try to use it
- astrotrain, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5
Sweet... need to make it into a PC Mod! - drawkbox, on 10/12/2007, -5/+9thats gotta take a little bit of change
- kanthsree, on 10/12/2007, -10/+14Lego rocks!
- mikoslav, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6And in this quadrant we have a LEGO boat, or possibly a royal concubine, not sure which. Anyway, we sent a cruise missile up it's ass as a precaution.
- BugMeNot2, on 10/12/2007, -5/+9It's only time until somebody trips and destroys that geek ship.
- rusty_g, on 10/12/2007, -6/+10good god how long did that take?
- chicomdk, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4"How about building something useful with legos, like housing for the homeless or something. Unless this was sold at auction for charity I see no use for it... Noelix"
Why do it because he could. Why put a pc in an Nintendo case why mod you pc box because you can. I mean really some people play video games, some people play sports other build stuff out of legos. I am curious though if he did this all by himself or had help. This thing rocks I wonder how much it would cost if they sold this as a set LOL
- GTAcrimelord, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6Out of all the previous lego submissions, I'd have to say this is one of the best ones I've seen. I wonder how much and how long it took the person to contruct this thing?
- alej744, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3actually think about how much it would hurt if someone threw one of those airplanes at your face, aaahhh
the sharpness - OrangeTide, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It would be nice if there was some LeoCAD files for this, because I don't have even a 10th of these unusual pieces. (leoCAD is an open source Lego modeling program with a huge library of parts. http://leocad.org/ )
- JoshuaWood, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Man thanks for the better link. Here it is direct http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=126969&n=47 You can actually see a cross section of it with the 8 levels . Freekin' Sweet!
- Meowmix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3To us Lego nerds (I proudly have the shirt), there is what's called "Lego Scale". This is because building to scale is impossible. Look at the little guy, and tell me if you honestly think he's to scale with himself. They're short and fat. So you build to Lego scale, which is "realistic" enough.
- Squeegee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Seems the same artist did a Destroyer as well:
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=172582 - mattgilberg, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6they should have this guy interview the creators, http://www.unoriginal.co.uk/nuvideos/Jenga%20-%20UNORIGINAL.CO.UK.wmv
- klugerama, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It looks like it's missing about 1/3 to maybe 1/2 of the forward section. Check out http://www.navysite.de/cvn/cvn75.html and look at the photo about halfway down the page.
