- PaulOwen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Looking at the pictures of funny contrails, and making a wild and unsubstantiated guess, I'd say this is a Pulse Detonation Wave Engine mounted on something that looks a bit like this:

perhaps. - aemann, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hmmm... I'm the guy who does all the images of Aurora, and I'm peeved I didn't even get a credit!

Seriously, it was only a matter of time before this stuff came out - I've been researching this thing, along with some other 'old crows' for more than 10 years (actually a lot more). I'm personally glad to see it's surfaced again - I bet they thought it had just gone away under a cloud of UFO disinformation. - GeniusCube, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The BBC are desperately trying to revamp their internet services, and by linking to Digg I expect they hope to gain some points with the tech crowd. They have handled far hotter topics than this in their story discussions before, the Diana conspiracy for example.
As for the actual story, I fail to see that it matters how much our government knows about these projects and does not tell us. Governments have always developed weapons in secret as far back as the Roman Empire to the best of my knowledge. I figure that if the US are telling us about it at least they are not planning to use it against us. - aliensporebomb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Oh, the other thing - that's the first I heard the US revealed we're allegedly building
a hypersonic unmanned craft called the Falcon. When did that information get put
out? It's the first I've heard of it. Disinfo? - fineartdavid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That intrigues me too. It is odd that only one of the other Newsnight stories is similarly linked.
- meijon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Hey Aemann I'd have credited you if I'd known but for the record I'm an Aurora agnostic - I just don't know but I'm interested in collecting the evidence - especially official evidence.
- brownboi43, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Whats even more interesting than the Aurora?
Check out page 1 of the slideshow, right hand side -- Their talking about moving anti-matter. - aliensporebomb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Hi Adrian. Have you seen this yet: http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?showtopic=13886
There's a guy working on developing an Aurora for the X-Plane simulator.
I've tried out the beta and it's no less than awesome and flies amazingly well.
If it's not real, the Sweetman Aurora could be developed and fly beautifully.
Some screenshots of the plane in action and a few movies are here at my site:

Enjoy!
-Todd - delrich, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Look at rense.com for more interesting news articles. There are loads on lots of black projects and other classified news. Also abovetopsecret.com. Another interesting read.
- dueyfinster, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0This appears as a link on BBC article, are they outsourcing discussion of it??? Too hott to handle I guess.

What is Digg?
