AT&T Study Determines Net Neutrality is Bad (Gasp!)
tgdaily.com — A new study from AT&T says that setting up the Internet on a tiered level would offer "significantly more" capacity than the system that's being used now. Coincidentally, it will offer "significantly more" capacity for AT&T to make more money. They didn't say that in the study exactly - that's my interpretation.

- ghoti06, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Speaking as one who works for a coalition AT&T backs, that isn't the whole story. So-called "neutrality" of the Internet is at best a solution to a problem that doesn't exist, and at worst is a regulation that will keep investors sitting on their wallets instead of building out the US broadband infrastructure.
Seriously, the burden here shouldn't be on AT&T to prove we don't need neutrality laws -- the burden should be on proponents to determine it's necessary. So far it's all "save the Internet!" hyperbole and FUD designed to make people think they won't be able to use Google anymore. It's ludicrous, but because the issue is so complex, people are unfortunately willing to believe the worst.
