- eleete, on 11/05/2009, -4/+19I hope someone beats you into bankruptcy. It would be nice if they used IP laws to do it.

...And that's what we're sticking with. - borez, on 11/05/2009, -1/+10Putting an egg in front of a steam roller ain't gonna stop it you know.
Baby ( the entertainment industry ) needs a nappy ( diaper ) change... it's starting to wallow in its own ***** and it (obviously ) can't help itself any more. - fragomatik, on 11/05/2009, -1/+6Obvious crypto-fascist troll is obvious!
- lexman098, on 11/05/2009, -1/+6There's no proof that the ISP is engaging in illegal conduct. Most of their traffic may be from bittorrent, but the bittorrent protocol is not illegal and you can't assume it's being used for illegal purposes as it often is.
As for the "repeat infringement" letters, the ISP is actually doing the right thing by protecting their customers until there's actually proof of infringement. - s73v3r, on 11/05/2009, -1/+6Yes, because the pipe should be responsible for how the end user acts. I suppose you'd like it if water companies were sued whenever a mother drowns her children in the tub.

If you were trying to use subtle sarcasm, it seams that doesn't work here.

- Suricou, on 11/05/2009, -0/+2Yep. He's the real thing, as far as I can tell - a genuine Randroid.
- InactiveUser, on 11/06/2009, -0/+2Happy downloading is a form of advertising the fact that iiNet and handful of other ISP's are not greedy money whores like Telstra who charge platinum lounge rates while giving you toasted sandwiches.
Price per month -
iiNet = 50gb - $78 naked ADSL (no upload tariff) (max speed 24gb/s)
TPG - 50gb - $69 Naked ADSL (no upload tariff) (max speed 24gb/s)
Internode -100gb - $98 naked ADSL (no upload tariff) (max speed 24gb/s)
The top carriers
Telstra = 20gb - $110 ADSL with line rental (upload tariff) (max speed 24gb/s)
Optus - 20gb - $99 Cable with line rental (upload tariff) (max speed 12gb/s)
iPrimus - 20gb - $99 ADSL with line rental (upload tariff) (max speed 24gb/s)
Optus 30gb = $130 ADSL with line rental. (upload tariff)
Happy uploading iiNet, TPG, Internode customers.
20gb plans would see you using you tube no more than 5 views per day and 4 hours of browsing the web. Any more than that and you will be slowed to 64kb/s = dial up speeds. Horrendous service that costs the Earth. No one in their right mind would use the big 3. Naked ADSL and VOIP is the cheapest way to do business. Having high download limits means you can rely on VOIP to function.
Telstra can lick my Balls! - InactiveUser, on 11/07/2009, -0/+1Telstra had a monopoly on Tasmania until recently so that would explain it.
Telstra are what Comcast would be if they were the only company with cable and a majority market share and all other ISP's had to go through them. - Suricou, on 11/05/2009, -0/+1It'd be rather less than that if the rippers would learn to compress their videos properly, rather than just assuming that every movie needs to be 700MB or 4.4GB when often half that or less is enough, depending on the properties of the video.
- mheyk, on 11/06/2009, -0/+1....and licked his balls Telstra did
- Vagari, on 11/06/2009, -0/+1That's still pretty expensive compared to what we have in The States. My friend who went to grad school in Hobart never got Internet access cause she couldn't afford it. Though that does seem to be improving...
- inactive, on 11/05/2009, -21/+3I don't mooch off of other people's hard work, so I don't see that happening.
- inactive, on 11/04/2009, -35/+4Go AFACT. Win. Beat this ISP into bankrupcty.
