- aereaus, on 10/12/2008, -3/+65Take me to court! I've downloaded it free, and I like it. So I will buy it as soon as I see it!
I'm a long time fan. AC/DC rocks! Hope they come to DK sometime in the future. I'll add to their retirement fund! - Typhoon2009, on 10/13/2008, -0/+62Well, considering it's only going to be sold at ***** Wal-mart, it's not surprising.
- randomchar, on 10/12/2008, -4/+48lol, did they think leaks and rips came from iTunes?
- TunaFishGangsta, on 10/13/2008, -2/+40I've said it before and I'll say it again. The leak will promote sales. I found out about the album via bittorrent and I like it. So I'm going to buy it.
- IronPwnage, on 10/13/2008, -0/+27 A very valid and compelling argument you've got there.
- vtnerd, on 10/13/2008, -0/+27$6,000,000 - the number (give or take a few thousand) that the RIAA will claim was lost due to piracy on this album
- Lixie, on 10/13/2008, -3/+29It's not that they fear digital distribution will lead to piracy. They just don't want people to cherry pick the singles. They want $15 from you instead of just $1.

- Popper, on 10/13/2008, -0/+24Actually, it was a great move, from the band's point of view. I remember reading that part of the deal they got with Wal-Mart was the company agreed to buy 3,000,000 copies of the album, non-returnable. They went triple-platinum before the thing ever hit the street. It would have been stupid for them not to take the deal, given the current state of the music business.
- picpak, on 10/12/2008, -3/+23I've downloaded it, but I'm also buying it when it comes out.
- cadmiumpaint, on 10/13/2008, -4/+22This is the stupidest marketing move ever. To release an album as a Wallmart exclusive is just suicidal...its as if they are begging for it to be pirated.
- strictnein, on 10/13/2008, -1/+17I'm pretty sure I've seen albums on iTunes that are only available as complete albums. Or am I wrong?
- MalikNYC, on 10/13/2008, -0/+15thats a bit racist.
- SuperHyperKid, on 10/13/2008, -2/+16AC/DC needs to sell the album on iTunes... Not selling it digitally is a huge mistake. I will buy the album when it comes out, but still, Id MUCH rather buy it on iTunes than go to walmart...
- dvsbastard, on 10/13/2008, -1/+13And there is also a good chance that those people you speak of had no intention to ever buy it either way...
- inactive, on 10/13/2008, -3/+14AC/DC should keep making music as long as they want. They've earned it.
And yeah, I'm glad AC/DC sounds the same as they always have. They're balls out rock and roll, not a prog-rock band. Go listen to Kid A if Black Ice has too much testosterone for you. - inactive, on 10/13/2008, -0/+10uh... trackers?
- inactive, on 10/13/2008, -0/+10I like the part where he sings like his balls are in a vice grip.
- skunkman62, on 10/13/2008, -1/+10liar
- explnx, on 04/27/2009, -3/+11Are you The Oracle?
- cuppyCake, on 10/13/2008, -0/+8Your compelling argument has made me change my mind on this topic and/or issue!
- kagebutsu, on 10/13/2008, -1/+9Commercials should really say "Now on Pirate Bay" instead of "Now in stores"
- shodanx, on 10/13/2008, -1/+8I downloaded it , but I didn't think it was that good, I won't buy it
does that make me worse than the people who downloaded it, liked it, and will buy it ?
if try before you buy became the norm, would trying become moraly binding to buy ? - Travelsonic, on 10/13/2008, -2/+9He's buying it, you douchebag,
- Aurabolt, on 10/13/2008, -2/+9I'm thinking about making custom Guitar Hero charts for this album and uploading the videos to YouTube before the October 20th .. should I? =)
http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=aurabol ... - Auricfield, on 10/13/2008, -0/+7The album lacks the 'X' factor... that special magical quality that albums like TNT, Highway To Hell and Back in Black had. Stiff Upper Lip is better than Black Ice. But I'd still go see em live....
- jessenoob, on 10/13/2008, -1/+7What if I don't like it? Would it be fair that I never got to hear the songs before I bought the album and ended up hating the album?
- AlanFang, on 10/13/2008, -3/+8Maybe you will buy it, but the vast majority of people pirating it now won't buy it later.
- TheScreamer, on 10/13/2008, -2/+7Bury this if you must, but...
I, too, am a long-time AC?DC fan; however, I was truly hoping for something fresh sounding out of them. Sure, it has a "classic AC/DC sound" that we all (AC/DC fans) like, but it also sounds like almost any other AC/DC album from the *insert favorite 70's/80's/90's decade here*.
So, in summary response, I, too, downloaded it freely, but I have already deleted the album and will NOT be purchasing it. Downloading torrents for preview works both ways. - jjamminjon, on 10/13/2008, -1/+6He's frontin and stuntin, you douchebag.
- dvsbastard, on 10/13/2008, -1/+6It may not be some heroic deed, but how many of those downloads would have directly translated into sales? I am willing to say a very small number of them (pirates seem to be creatures of opportunity)... But the losses really are difficult to quantify...
But on the positive side we know this album has now received a lot of exposure... And this is something that the anyone in the entertainment industry requires to thrive on...
What i comes down to is working out whether the benefits outweigh the problems... but to suggest there are no benefits is extremely naive... - zzz@tkz, on 10/13/2008, -0/+5 You realize they got -a lot- of money selling exclusively at Walmart, yes?
- smileydude, on 10/13/2008, -0/+4using a free wifi connection, my share ratio on it is already like 30.1
- Dred, on 10/13/2008, -2/+6Yes you are, and no one cares that you don't like them. Am I the only guy who realizes that when I post something on the internet that most people don't give a *****? Refer to old saying "Opinions are like *****, everyone has one"
- FriedTurkey, on 10/13/2008, -3/+7Were you really expecting like AC/DC to go fusion jazz or something? AC/DC songs are all very similar but they still rock the ***** out of anything else going on. You going to put on some Nicleback instead?
- inactive, on 10/13/2008, -0/+4It won't happen, liars.
- leamanc, on 10/13/2008, -0/+4No. In the olden days, If I wasn't 100% sure I was going to buy an album, I would wait to get a cassette dub from a friend and check it out first. Or at the very least, you could go to the "listening stations" at Tower Records or other stores. Sometimes I would buy, other times I wouldn't. So "try before you buy" existed before the MP3 revolution, it's just a lot more convenient now.
- kinseyincanada, on 10/13/2008, -1/+4no they said that they dont make singles, they make full albums.
- vtnerd, on 10/13/2008, -0/+3I dunno...they usually count every single download as a lost sale despite the fact that many downloaders do buy the music and many downloaders would never buy the music under any circumstances. So I did $15 per download x 400,000 downloads = $6,000,000.
But it was just supposed to be joke... - SuperHyperKid, on 10/13/2008, -0/+3Dont you mean... "Now on Pirate Bay, COMING SOON to stores?"
- PabloMac, on 10/13/2008, -1/+4Some rock music is timeless.
- AnalogAssassin, on 10/13/2008, -0/+3I hear you, but it's a sign of the times that I'm not sure I care for. Used to be that artists put out good albums. People bought the album, loaded it on the turntable, smoked a doob, listened and stared at the album cover art (another lost art form)
Now, it's just singles, b/c the artist has only a couple hits over their lifespan anyway.
I'm thinking of good, solid albums. Back in Black is one of them. All killer, no filler. Whatever happened to Album Oriented Rock? - Spoomeister, on 10/13/2008, -0/+3I listened to the AC/DC channel on XM that they have set up, to promote this album. I loved AC/DC in high school, and still like some of their songs, but I never really understood just how much AC/DC is built on pretty much the same 3 or 4 basic songs, with some lyrics swapped out and occasionally done a little faster or slower.
- CrazyChair, on 10/13/2008, -0/+3In the RIAA's eyes, that's like stealing it 12 times!
- kinerry, on 10/13/2008, -0/+3walmart probably paid $1 a copy
they could have made more going digital and cutting out their label - redsoxmb545, on 10/13/2008, -0/+3Listening now....
It sounds pretty much like every other AC/DC album ever. Which means it's good....just nothing really new. - inactive, on 10/13/2008, -1/+4It's a bunch of noise that idiots like to masturbate to.
- krasht, on 10/13/2008, -0/+2The album may be getting release on the 20th world wide, but it's getting released on the 18th in Australia.
I'll be buying it, but it certainly isn't their best album that's for sure. The album lacks the usual AC/DC rock anthem :( - Boofster, on 10/13/2008, -0/+2....are you sure?
- smileydude, on 10/13/2008, -2/+4I'm downloading it AND plan on shoplifting it from Walmart the first day it comes out. I might purchase a bootleg at the flea market though.
