    The "key" "09-F9-11-02-9D-74-E3-5B-D8-41-56-C5-63-56-88-C0" is not copyrightable nor is it a trademark of any sorts - its nothing more than a "trade secret" - now the law on trade secrets states that once it is public, anyone can publish it and its not illegal - guess digg needs some lawyers. digg also have no responsibility to pro-actively censor topics, as under DMCA they are not responsible for what thier users post - they simply have to comply with a DMCA (but in this case, DMCA is not aplicable due to the above info).

    You can open your Firefox's about:config, add "general.useragent.extra.firefoxComment" key and put the # there, so it goes to the logs of every web server hosting sites you open. As you know many such logs are public.

I don't really remember how AACS works... I just know it's the reason why I haven't bought any blu-ray or HDDVD disks. Once I can buy a movie and play it on whatever TV screen I want then I won't be forced to piraracy to watch it in full HD.

  • Timmmm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1AACS is *not* a total failure. Sure at the moment, it has been completely circumvented, but they haven't used any of the key revocation methods yet. When they do the current processing key will be useless anyway (for new discs).

    The real test will be if the new WinDVD/PowerDVD device keys can be found. I suspect it will be a lot harder this time around.
