- MasterTroll, on 06/29/2009, -1/+5BUT WAIT, ARE THERE MORE?
- thegreatanti, on 06/29/2009, -0/+2Great shots. Tried to make such ones myself, but my iPhone won't let me adjust the shutterspeed nor capture in to RAW format. What am I doing wrong? Please help, thanks.
- Sraser, on 06/29/2009, -0/+2Sure, here's a little list of things you can do to start penetrating the amazing and magical world of photography:
Stay away from huge collected lists of 60 + images of the same subject. If you notice, there doesn't seem to have been a whole lot of time and effort put into the list, how many were done by "VJ Spectra"? Try finding individual artist websites, or collectives, where you can get a better overall feel of what the particular artist(s) is trying to communicate.
Also, don't limit your search to just the internet, I have always found that publications (i.e. magazines) are the best way to find awesome photographers. However, what you can do is go to gallery websites, see who they have on display and then attempt to find a website.
For example, you could try the extreme famous MOMA gallery website and see who they have on display. (Don't limit your search to well known galleries, try searching around for far less known and specialized galleries as well.) Right now they have Richard Benson on, a quick Google and it can take you to here: http://www.pacemacgill.com/richardbenson-0.html
I personally find this particular artist to be a bit bland, but a search of the other artists on display sent me to this particular artist: http://www.pacemacgill.com/fredericksommer-0.html
I really enjoy how he is manipulating the silver print, but keeping within the codes and conventions of traditional photography.
I also quite like this one:
http://www.pacemacgill.com/jimdine-0.html
While these photographs may not be a 'perfect' as many of the HDR examples seen above, I would have to say that they have much more to say.
So in short, magazines, galleries and then Google. Self searching (In more places than just Flickr.(Not that I have ANYTHING against Flickr, it's awesome!)) is the best way to search. - andytronic, on 06/29/2009, -1/+3I AGREE. A LOT OF THEM ARE SO HEAVILY 'SHOPPED/TREATED THAT THEY RESEMBLE GARISH CARICATURES OF REALITY. MAYBE THAT WAS THE INTENT, BUT IT'S NOT GREAT "PHOTOGRAPHY," PER SE.
A MORE ACCURATE HEADLINE COULD BE: PRITTY CITES @ NIGHT PICS!!!!!!! (WELL, THAT'S HOW I MIGHT HAVE DONE IT). - 7aji, on 06/29/2009, -0/+2THERE ARE MORE. CLICK THE LINK IN THE NEXT NEXT MINUTES, AND WE WILL LET YOU WATCH THOSE PICTURE NOT FOR ONCE, TWICE, BUT FOR 10 TIMES!
- raviu90, on 06/28/2009, -3/+5THESE ARE SOME GREAT SHOTS

60 beautiful night shots of cityscapes
as there are not many not man-build stuff there - thepicklebot, on 06/29/2009, -1/+2Excellent cityscapes. Very good selection
- Intention, on 06/28/2009, -4/+5DON'T ***** YOURSELF
OR DO, OXICLEAN POWERS OUT STAINS INSTANTLY - AzzidReign, on 06/28/2009, -4/+5DA ***** MAN? ALL CAPS DAY!
- TheEggAndI, on 06/29/2009, -2/+3websites of the world. take a lesson from this page. 60 or so pictures all on ONE page. no slide show whatsoever.
- dlite922, on 06/29/2009, -1/+2Great pics for the theme in my office....home office. I stare at a tree. I would love an office with one of these views.
These will do for now :( - Domthedude001, on 06/28/2009, -2/+3CALM AND RELAXED, INDEED.
BTW, BUY OXICLEAN. - 7aji, on 06/29/2009, -1/+2NOW, YOU CAN TAKE THE SAME SHOTS IF YOU HAVE THE SAME CAMERA AT THE RIGHT PLACE AT THE RIGHT TIME, AND YOU HAD THE SAME SKILL AS THE PHOTOGRAPHER, BUT YOU DON'T, AND THAT'S WHY OXI CLEAN WORKS!
- 7aji, on 06/29/2009, -0/+1I can't really see it. Hold on let me check with someone here.
"hey Steve, can you see any emissions in these pictures"
"no, but these are some pretty damn good photos. Oh man that comment is lame.."
"ok ok go finish what ever you were doing."
Yeah, as I said before, no emissions. - stillasleep00, on 06/29/2009, -1/+2BURIED FOR ONLY PARTIAL COMMITMENT TO BILLY MAYS.
- 7aji, on 06/29/2009, -1/+1COME ON, DON'T BE A HATER
- Sraser, on 06/28/2009, -9/+9I WOULD SAY THAT ABOUT, OH, 6 OF THOSE ARE ACTUALLY BEAUTIFUL. (GENERALLY SPEAKING, HOWEVER, THIS SEEMS TO BE THE CASE WITH PHOTO LISTS ON DIGG.)
JUST SO PEOPLE REALIZE, TAKING A QUICK SHOT OF AN URBAN AREA AT NIGHT WHEN LIGHTS ARE ON DOES NOT EQUAL GREAT PHOTOGRAPHY. NEITHER DOES A TIME LAPSE OF A SKY AT NIGHT. (I THINK WE HAVE ALL REALIZE HDR SUCKS.)
IF YOU CAN MAKE A LIST OF THE SAME DAMN THING 60 TIMES, THEN IT ISN'T GREAT PHOTOGRAPHY. START TRYING HARDER DIGGERS, THERE IS A ALMOST ENDLESS SOURCE OF AMAZING PHOTOGRAPHERS WHO REALLY TRY TO PUSH THE ENVELOPE, LET'S SEE SOME OF THAT AROUND HERE. - Lebrun, on 06/30/2009, -1/+1Posting links to tiny pics (not usable as wallpapers) with "buy" links is spamming.
- SexyPopMachine, on 06/28/2009, -3/+3Since when is digg a news site?
Quite a lot of beautiful shots there. All on one page to. That's an instant digg. - adudenamedjon, on 07/02/2009, -0/+0agreed
- KayIslandDrunk, on 06/29/2009, -1/+1Did you not see the copyright or "buy here" link on most of them?
- JimmyTheClam, on 06/29/2009, -1/+1From Sraser:
"THERE IS A ALMOST ENDLESS SOURCE OF AMAZING PHOTOGRAPHERS WHO REALLY TRY TO PUSH THE ENVELOPE, LET'S SEE SOME OF THAT AROUND HERE".

- relaxeder, on 06/28/2009, -9/+4INCREDIBLE SHOTS
- spdorsey, on 06/28/2009, -6/+1Here's mine (sorry for the spam)
http://www.flickr.com/photos/dorseygraphics/366047 ... - ghostrc, on 06/28/2009, -8/+3I use to really love digg. But, stories like this making the front page just go to show that the standard of what is considered "news" has been seriously lowered. I'm not trying to be an elitist, but when i go to a news site i expect to see some relevent commentary about the state of the world. Instead, stories such as this, Firefox vs Windows rants, Mac vs PC rants and a slew of trivial news increasingly find there way onto digg. I love the news, and its sad to see such a good service slowly degrade.
